And yet..... I target shoot in my backyard just about everyday with mine.... It's no problem at all and these Benjamin Trail NP XL rifles are ACCURATE on par with much more expensive rifles like the Crow Magnum/Theoben Eliminator and Beeman Kodiak/Webley Patriot.
Teenagers could shoot the Benjamin Trail NP XL Air Rifle. It does have a high poundage cocking effort, though, that might make cocking a little bit difficult. Thanks, Pyramyd Air Team
Hi Rex its been a year and I was wondering if you ever got your Benjamin rifle in .25, and if you did how are you liking it? I sure love mine! Also if you did how's the pest controll going? Have you sent them all to the promised land? Anyway young friend i hope you and your family are well, it sounds like their in good hands!
So I bought the .25 and i really liked it until yesterday when i went to put a different optic on it and the picatiny rail came off in my hand so now it's as useful as a bucket with a hole in it!
? what were you doing and abusing the rifle with to get the pick rail off? ive used a 2lb sledge and chisle and i cannot get that pick rail to budge. using a hacksaw next. so i say you lie///
You had to choose in between this gun and the .25 hatsan proxima multishot vortex-piston underlever pellet rifle what would be your choice. If you have time I would appreciate it. Thanks. Great video. Very informative.
Ive gotten a few nitro pistons and the barrels seem to point down a bit, making my accuracy horrible but this one has a lock, keeping the barrel straight. I found this actually helps cuz my current airgun has a lock and the accuracy is much better.
Hi Paul. Great video, and part of the reason I purchased the same gun in .22. Question...It has a manual safety, and in the video you mention that you must be diligent about putting the safety on. If I'm plinking in the yard (shot after shot, barrel in a safe direction) should I still be using the safety between shots? Am I running the risk of damaging the rifle in some way? I'm an experienced shooter and take gun safety seriously! Thanks.
yes im going to be buying a air gun from pyramydair its a toss up so far i got it to the hatsan 125 sniper .25 cal or the Benjamin marauder PCP .25 cal with a 4-14x50 scope if any has any thoughts comments plz reply, the only thing holding me from the Benjamin marauder is it dont have any sights when u buy it and no way to pump it up and if u get all that stuff to get it to where u can shoot the 460 dollar gun u have spent almost 800 just to be able to fire it down range?
Im using my 35fpe (average with h&n 30.86gr baracuda which is 718fps average) as an indoor plinker until summer. Yep...im silly like that. I still want one of these and the bew Remington 725 coming out by Crosman REALLY piqued my interest... I'm REALLY enjoying the 25cal... need more pellets and price points but won't be getting it without the drive and I'll plink with a 25cal all DAY long if itll help me afford it more later! Oh, im using the 125 with a gas piston too. I got lucky. I expected 30fpe but i get no lower than 32fpe abd rhats with lightweight pellets. This is a must have though and though i love my 125, ive got a soft spot for AMERICAN Crosman.
Hi man,I thought like you about .25 cal (I thought it drops like a rock) but it is not so much.jsb 25.4grains drops 0.3 inchs at 30yards,and h&n baracuda, drops less than half inch at same distance.but .25 does hit like a rock
@bays1001 i would also look at a Beeman Elkhorn or a Tech Force 89. they have better triggers than Crosmans or Gamos. do you want a synthetic or wood stock?
Your right friend, webley patriot .25 is close 30fpe,but uk version.and actualy they are made in hatsan factory and you wont get a new patriot with 30fpe.i was searching for webley uk before buy this benjamin .25 and now i am happy with my rifle.
Hi Paul & Happy New Year 2012....!!! I'm glad you make a review in this rifle, I was about to purchase from Pyramyd Air this rifle in .22 Cal but instead I purchased the Benji Trail NP Hardwood. Horrible experience, I was not able to group a 10 yards, terrible rifle, lots of problems, I was forced to return the rifle, well I heard a lot of good things about this rifle but terrible ones as well. In your expert opinion, Do you really think this rifle is a good idea?, ....what would be the max ra
never having used a .25 cal before I wonder about trajectory. 177. seems to shoot very flat, even when compared to a similar velocity .22. Which led me to the .20 cal in my silver streak, it remains the best of both worlds inside of 30 yards for target shooting. Muzzle energy sounds impressive but reliably putting that power on target for humane kills is what counts. For me most shots on wary crows are rarely inside of 40 yards, is this gun up to that challenge?
I would love to see a review about the 177 Since this is a Nitro Piston, leaving it cocked wont matter at all? Not that im planning to do so but what if it would be cocked for over a day? Due to the power of this rifle, how about light grain pellets? Lets say the 7,56 in a .177 version... Wont it dammage the piston? Just to make sure... Im talking about the 1500
do you think you can make a video of the benjamin trail np xl .22 in the web page it say that the speed of this air gun is 1100 fps please try to use this air rifle
@redrocco44 A good Webley Ptriot in .25 Cal in stock form will do close to 30 fpe, I had one fully stock and it did around 695 fps with Jsb 25.4 kings. It was one hell or a good shooter with open sight and with a scope it was one great rifle for shooting fur bearers. The Webley partiot is king in my book as a magnum springer and one hell of a hunting rifleI .
You want to know why it's quiet? Because it's only shooting 590 FPS. A Trail Xl in .22 is much much louder because the .22 pellets are shooting near 850 FPS. Or using normal .25 pellets around 25 grains is louder.
I got this air rifle a year or so ago and I wanted to love it, but I just couldnt. I put a grt III trigger that helped, but I still couldnt even like it enough to keep it. Sold it and used what I got from that to get .25 marauder. Best air rifle I've ever owned. Take it easy you airgun nazis, it's the best one "I've" ever owned.
@pyramidair Do you need to keep the breech area free of grease before firing or do I have to keep it on? When it first came it has a generous amount of grease on the breech area and around the O-ring, So I wipe it out, is this right? What's the proper way to keep the breech and O-ring in best condition Thanks!
Would you recommend the Benjamin Trail NP XL air rifle in a .22 caliber for someone who is 5'6" tall that wants to hunt small game (squirrels and rabbits) with the rifle; or would it be better to scale down to something such as the Benjamin Titan NP in a .22 caliber?
I am going to add a trail xp into my locker. I am planning on using it in my disaster prep. gear, as that I do not have to worry about a high powered air supply & parts avail. locally. Since I already have .22 cal. already, I am probably going to stay with this cal..
This gun is like cotton candy looks like alot but once you u get it there isnt much to it, I looked an shot this gun bfor gettting the Benjamin Trail NP AW, also watch countless reviews about it in the 25 cal. Just watch Rick eustlers review on this gun for one. If you want a decent 25 cal Get the Benjamin Maurader..... Thats knock down power there, or the Walthers 25 cal....But very Happy with my NP AW in 22 cal Quarter size groups at 45 yds......
I know the air rifle being described is for pellets but can it shoot certain .25 caliber slugs as well? I have seen some break barrels able to do this.
what would be the lowest temperature i could use my airgun at with out the oil thickening? And also is it possible to reverse the thickened oil once it has already happened.
ok good so it will not cause any permanant damage to my air rifle. About how much will the thickened oil bring my fps down if my air rifle shoots at about 1200 fps normally.
I'm surprised with the muzzle energy of the .25. I can get pretty much the same energy out of my .22.( I know that it doesn't reflect the same results in the animal you are hunting), I'm just comparing numbers. My Chrony reads an average of 850 out of the muzzle with the 15 grains, and my groups are at least 0.5" at 20m, with occasional flyers going another .3". And it reads about 770 at 20m. No rarely, I have pellets breaking sound barrier, and cracking pretty loud. So, it still delivers 19-20 FPE at 20m. In respond to AxoSloopyyy, I thinks that's energy enough for raccoon and possums ( with a descent shot placement). It's definitely HARD to shoot. VERY, hold sensitive. But indeed, IT'S A BEAST..!!
? what is the inner barrel diameter? is it .257 or .254. or is it .250? this is important cause i found great slugs that are .257 and i would like to use them without resizing. they are 117grain hybrid hollowpoints with a silicone tip. totally leathal if they will fit down the barrel at a .257 diameter.
Not what you'd want to use a break barrel. Those .257 slugs are going to be better purposed for something like an Airforce Texan PCP Rifle. The bore on most .25 cal guns is going to be closer to .250.
@@pyramydair thanks canceled the order and chose #2 critter gitters at 69 grain that will hopefully get me between 90 and a 100 fpe. cross ya fingers and ill use a bit of vaseline and i bet they will do the job.
I just bought this gun a couple weeks ago and its shooting very inconsistently I cant sight it in and dont feel confident to hunt with it,does anyone know why this is happening?
Greetings Paul. Which one between the .22 and .25 Benjamin Trail NP XL would you suggest? I want it for long range shooting and high impact energy. Thank you...Great show!
I own a XL725 & other air rifles. I am surprised Paul only got 24 lbs out of the rifle. I have not tried the Barracudas, but H&N Ram Points and Field Target Trophy do not work for me with this gun.. Benjamin Domed work like they were made for this gun...The trigger is not the best. Accuracy is o.k. I believe I am getting close to the 30 foot pounds of energy on the box. Benjamin Domed go clean through the first 2 by 4 and digs way into the one behind it. Good to 50 yrd w/o Hold Over.
hey paul i have the 1500 and i cant shoot it very consistently, and the artillery hold is kinda hard to do with a 10 pound gun, so how do i use the artillery hold while hunting?
I have this gun and I was shooting at 25 yards and wouldn't hold a pattern so when I changed scope it hit dead on every time and even at 50 yards so change the scope it's cheap but the gun isn't cheap it's perfect and mine isn't even broken it yet
Bryan Morgan if the gun has a nitro piston, it will be stated. Guns I know that have them is the Benjamin trail NP, NP2, NP XL, and the Titan line. Guns like the Benjamin discovery and the Benjamin Marauder are PCP, so they obviously lack the nitro piston powerplant. Crosman also developed several low power nitro piston based air pistols, but on account of their low power (I think between 3-7 foot-pounds) they aren't really worth the purchase, even if your intended use isn't hunting.
hello, Benjamin Cal 25, Cal Sniper Hatsan 25 cal Webley Patriot. 25, which is better air rifle of the 3? which of these three air rifles is better quality, striking power, better accuracy, and quality airgun? What you recommend me?
I have this gun in .22. I'm trying to track what you saying, but I'm not quite getting it. Which screws are stripping out? Please explain. In your opinion, would blue lock tight help? Please give me your thoughts. Thanks
I got this Benjamin Trail NP XL .25 cal air rifle with 6-24 ×50 GAMO scope and bipod . Crossman rifles likes a crossman pellet's (that's for sure :P ). I was shooting a wooden plate ( 2.5 cm thick ) from about 25 meter and it was easily go trough that wooden plate. I got only one problem. I don't know how many dot's ( on scope ) is for aproximatly 80 m . I got my scope zero up it for 35 meter . If any one have a table or any link for gamo scope's how many dot's is for meter please send me a message. Sorry for my bad english ! .
***** Utilize a ratchet gear system say it takes 3 pulls on the barrel to cock. the only draw back is the piston and cylinder would have to be very wide or very long for the voulume of air needed.
HolyBrodel 311 the grouping gets more consistent because your FPS doesn’t vary as much per shot. That’s why it’s more inaccurate out of the box. Also clean it when you first get it. The oils in the barrel it ships with causes dieseling meaning the oil combusts in the barrel and your FPS will be extremely high however it makes the rifle inaccurate and loud often making lighter pellets break the 1100FPS sound barrier going super sonic which gives you that crack you hear with a rim fire .22 caliber
Gaming a Hatsan torpedo 155 in .22 has more power 💥 and the speeds are better too. I’d keep selecting pellets to get the heavy enough pellet to get the velocity down to 813 FPS with the heaviest pellet possible , but first remove the screws and lock-tite all them, reassemble and be gentle with carefully lube it’s parts and enjoy.
Mark Charles Washington also clean your rifle before you shoot it to remove oil in the barrel to prevent dieseling which causes stress in seals and inaccuracies
sorry there Pyramid Air Team but the hatsan 125 .25cal smokes the trail np xl ... with the same pellet , "H&N Field target trophy the hatsan hits 800+ FPS and the TRAIL only like 570 FPS with the same pellet, ... I got the HATSAN 125TH w/ crosman nitro piston and I get a 2" grouping @100 yards with the JSB diablo exact king 25.39 gr pellet with about only 8 to 10 inch drop... beat that whith any .25 cal springer its virtually imposible
rnakata808 if you fire once or twice without a pellet loaded then you may be ok. But do not dry fire repeatedly or you will ruin the seals and piston head.
@@THE_LAST_WORD I haven't used mines in 2 years because every damn scope I put on they stop working. I tossed it in the closet and never bother taking it out
thats funny, hope those scopes have lifetime warranty's like my centerpoint. that is why people use cheap scopes on breakbarrels. ive cut the stock to a pistol grip and i fire 6mm aluminum crossbow bolts out of it after taking the plastic fins off of them. and i lube the bolt with vaseline and that thing can utterly destroy anything cyote or smaller. still wish i had a real .257 barrel on it.
@@lovetheoutdoors9485 it always works in ya favor to get money back and a new scope, just remember to get a cheap scope made for break barrels . heck i abuse my break barrels and they smell like a fuel air explosion smirks from causing such a thing
@slingtotheshot The Benjamin npxl .22 caliber is a very nice air rifle i just bought one at walmart for 150 dollars so this is a cheap and amazing gun. The first few days i had it i killed a rabbit and a squirrel.
Make sure that you buy through Crossman otherwise you'll be screwed. I bought mines on eBay and it came with a droop barrel and crossman denied to send me a new barrel because I didn't buy it through them. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with a customer service for nothing. This rifle has a strong recoil that will loosen all screws. You need to take it apart and use thread locker on all screws and put it back together and let it sit for a few hours.
Kenneth Arroyo 2 things: first he doesn’t respond to this channel anymore check him out at utah airguns. 2nd the gamo hunter extreme is a discontinued gun, they only exist with the private owners
bigdogbuc A 31gr., .25 caliber lead pellet is has got some weight to it. Most air gun manufacturers' stated velocities are achieved using lead-free, "P.B.A." pellets, which are super-lightweight. 500fps is actually fairly respectable, considering the price-point of this air rifle. You're still getting close to 25fpe, which is strong enough to take down small-to-medium sized game (well-placed shot, of course). Safe Shooting!!!
I gotta tell ya folks, if you don't have one of these ya gotta get one?! I have the titan in .22 which looks exactly like the .25 just scaled down. The fit and finish on Benjamin rifles are absolutely beutiful and they function flawlessly!

I have this gun and I was shooting at 25 yards and wouldn't hold a pattern so when I changed scope it hit dead on every time and even at 50 yards so change the scope it's cheap but the gun isn't cheap it's perfect and mine isn't even broken it yet
Hey Paul do all Crosman and Benjamin rifles have the same nitro pistons or different ones for different rifles
I would say the hatsan hands down. Best trigger and probably the most consistent FPS after breaking in resulting in much more accuracy
.22 vs .25 explain please. What's the difference?
The power, speed, energy, impact on the target and pellet weight.
are you going to review the .22 version of this rifle? I am looking for the best .22 NP rifle for under $300 bucks.
@pyramydair plz review the falcon hunter in .25 with standerd spring
I have this gun in .22. I'm trying to track what you saying, but I'm not quite getting it. Which screws are stripping out? Please explain. In your opinion, would blue lock tight help? Please give me your thoughts. Thanks
If I got one I’ll do a review on it but I can’t get one.
Sorry for my bad english ! .
23ft//lb is not massive mate from a break barrel! Try a Theoben Evolution a quality British Rifle quality groups as well as design!
But is there any problems shooting in cooler temps [like less than 45*F]?
How about a .45 breakbarrel, is that feasible?
***** Utilize a ratchet gear system say it takes 3 pulls on the barrel to cock. the only draw back is the piston and cylinder would have to be very wide or very long for the voulume of air needed.
there is a 30cal break barrel from hatsan...very accurate out to 50 yards
Would you recommend this rifle or the Hatsan model 125? Both in .25 cal.
Mine likes the JBS exact Kings
No.you can use them in extremely cold temp
is diseling a nitro piston air riffle bad does it damage the seals or does it just make the barrel dirty?
It’s bad if you’re doing it on purpose. It stresses the rifle seals and causes inaccuracies when shooting. Clean it out of the box before firing.
beautiful rifle:
Your not going to find those cal. pellets at Walley World :(
for sure
Is this quieter then the stoeger x20 or the gamo whisper?
after hours of patience and 1400 shots mine is finally "broken" in.
What types of differences did you notice?
HolyBrodel 311 the grouping gets more consistent because your FPS doesn’t vary as much per shot. That’s why it’s more inaccurate out of the box. Also clean it when you first get it. The oils in the barrel it ships with causes dieseling meaning the oil combusts in the barrel and your FPS will be extremely high however it makes the rifle inaccurate and loud often making lighter pellets break the 1100FPS sound barrier going super sonic which gives you that crack you hear with a rim fire .22 caliber
1:20
this weifle XD
how is the recoil on this is it bigger than a real 22.?
Do all of the versions have the same same specifications? Other than velocity
Just one question: Which one would you choose for serious hunting? And Why?
Gaming a Hatsan torpedo 155 in .22 has more power 💥 and the speeds are better too. I’d keep selecting pellets to get the heavy enough pellet to get the velocity down to 813 FPS with the heaviest pellet possible , but first remove the screws and lock-tite all them, reassemble and be gentle with carefully lube it’s parts and enjoy.
Mark Charles Washington also clean your rifle before you shoot it to remove oil in the barrel to prevent dieseling which causes stress in seals and inaccuracies
How far is 20 m in human measurement?
Or have you not seen the SNL skit with Nate Bargatze? 😂
Would u recomen this NP XL or the new NP2???
sorry there Pyramid Air Team but the hatsan 125 .25cal smokes the trail np xl ... with the same pellet , "H&N Field target trophy the hatsan hits 800+ FPS and the TRAIL only like 570 FPS with the same pellet, ... I got the HATSAN 125TH w/ crosman nitro piston and I get a 2" grouping @100 yards with the JSB diablo exact king 25.39 gr pellet with about only 8 to 10 inch drop... beat that whith any .25 cal springer its virtually imposible
How many foot pounds of energy does the .177 version have?
if you pull the trigger while cocked will it break?
rnakata808 if you fire once or twice without a pellet loaded then you may be ok. But do not dry fire repeatedly or you will ruin the seals and piston head.
I have a question? This Benjamin trail NP xl 1500 is a .25 with either a .22 or .177 barrel? To me it looks like a hybrid air rifle.
it is really a space ship that takes its user to great adventures. bet on it.
@@THE_LAST_WORD They all have warranty but after the 2nd one they want to give me a refund 😂😂😂😂
How many yards can this gun shoot?
I want this one!! 😭
Should I get this or the Hatsan 125 Sniper Vortex? Same price range
Which one is more powerful? Benjamin Trail NP XL Air Rifle or NP2
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Trail NP XL is more powerful
pyramydair Thank you for the info and keep the great video coming.
Can you make a review of the gamo Hunter Extreme 177
Kenneth Arroyo 2 things: first he doesn’t respond to this channel anymore check him out at utah airguns. 2nd the gamo hunter extreme is a discontinued gun, they only exist with the private owners
im trying to find a good hunting air rifle. for under $200 what do you recommed
What's the power of the standard np
500 and what fps? It's advertised at 900...wth? And that's on YOUR website under "Specs"...
900 in .22 there's with light pellets. There's no way a break barrel is going to shoot a .25 at 900 fps any time soon.
bigdogbuc A 31gr., .25 caliber lead pellet is has got some weight to it.
The one I have says 900 fps, and I believe it, something’s not right here on your fps
i OWN IT'S LIL BROTHERS AND WANT TO GET IT BUT YOU NEED TO TEST IT WITH 000 BUCKSHOT FOR IT IS .25 CAL
AND SEE HOW IT WILL SHOOT A ROUND BALL
This thing kicks like a mule!!!
amazing intro wow lol!
