    So much respect for diplo. A lot of people only know his new pop stuff and thats a bummer, because mad decent (his record label)'s early stuff and even now has helped a lot of lesser known artists and has had a huge influence on music. Everyone out there, go check out his Florida album. Go check out Dj Blaqstarr. Go check out Bonde Do Role. Go listen to early mad decent stuff. he's always been pushing music in weird directions and it's super awesome that he's getting recognized for it. Big up diplo.

      definitely man.. Hoping to release some stuff with those weird repitched vocals later this year/ next year! Also, his mixes are a bit analog, as though he uses tape/ consoles (especially 'lean on' for example)

    Any one else wondering why Diplo didn't stick to his old Florida sound? I gotta be brutally honest here, I don't like EDM... lemme rephrase that... I don't like popular EDM. I don't really like the stuff that Diplo is doing now, verses the stuff I've heard on Florida. To me, Florida was like something Bonobo makes, but more energetic and new hip hop. It had a really smooth vibe and a cutting edge at the same time. But now, it's all club twerking EDM music. Now granted, today's Diplo is actually better than some of the by the numbers crap EDM "producers" scribble out on their laptop and make billions off of. Jack U was surprisingly decent. To be honest Skrillex, is also one of the more tolerable EDM producers now that I think about it. Because both put more thought and their own creative curve on their music. It's risky, experimental and aggressive. Both make a decent team. But guys... I would have loved Diplo if he stuck with the Florida sound....

    “I’ve been one to try to set trends. I wanted to do this because everybody else is doing that” -proceeds to make pop music with his laptop and invite the most trendy artists in his music videos lmfao
    I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again, if you wanna be different than the rest PLAY INSTRUMENTS, if you can become this popular without artificially manipulating sound then u can call yourself different lol but you doing the same shit everybody else has been doing since technology came out and the people stopped making music solely from instruments.

    Only reason why diplo makes big records is because he has the opportunity to do so, all his hits are so simply to produce. The marketing around it tho is big and that's why it sells, not because he produced em.

    • @NazZimou
      @NazZimou 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do produce better music but i don't have a team or contacts like he does. It's called music industry, which means business, it's about sales not quality content.
      I go to college and music is a hobby, i still can say who is a good producer and who isn't based on my knowledge.

      ***** Go on soundcloud and type any word, and you'll see thousands of people producing great music. Yes, branding is everything.
      Hearing the same song on the radio 20 times a day is marketing and it's done so you start to liking it.

    • @Danko_HS
      @Danko_HS 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't listen to radio or watch tv music channels and i still think he brings something fresh to the scene, unlike the millions of wannabe producers on soundcloud. And being a producer myself for more than 10 years, i can tell you his sound design and song arrangement are top notch, not to mention he produces from hip-hop to pop, dancehall, reggae and moombahton.
      Words are cheap! If you are such a great producer, just give us a link to your songs so we can enjoy your "better than Diplo" productions.

      I'm willing to guess you aren't even aware of music existing before 2000... so, yeah... as far as you're concerned... my *taste in music* is pretty shitty. See... I like "good" music.
      Diplo *does not* qualify as "good music".
      Diplo is "shit".
      Don't worry, kid. Once you're old enough to understand what really qualifies as "shit", then you will understand just what I mean.
