I think the fact that the first girl has arthritis really says a lot. She's already in pain from normal things and then add on the pain from dance and shes still okay and doing what she loves. I'm 13 and I have fibromaylgia and I love dance and it's one of my dreams so for me this is super inspiring

@Sara Shepard it is like this every where I think. When she said without artistry you can not be a ballerina, she meant a Ballerina ( capital B) in a larger scale not just on the stage .
The audience will notice who is this talented artistic inspired and inspiring dancer and who is promoted by a director.....and it is not fair that even me, not a dancer can notice this and think how on earth was she promoted.....politics....not fair.

Zachary Catazaro was accused of sending Mr. Finlay intimate photos of a former School of American Ballet student." The New York Times.
Yes, totally not a fan of either of these dancers. They seem to be heavily featured in this series....sadly.
Dance requires so much dedication, but it's such a beautiful art! Thank you for your hard work, it is appreciated! We hope that even through the pressure, dance is still fun on stage!

@@mokococolata Chase Finlay photographed Alexandra Waterbury while they were being intimate--without her knowledge. He emailed these pictures and comments to some friends which included Amar. She is now suing him and NYC Ballet. A copy of the lawsuit is online as well as Alexandra's lawyer and Alexandra talking about it is in the news--online.

Yeah that’s the only reason I don’t wanna do ballet, I’m not really athletic and it really can take a tole on your body and mind

It's also about quality of life..and understanding that that is what the goal is inspite of the show and understanding the parameters of the show, of time and articulation or your joints....how does an orchestra do it or used to do it....so even your own makeup you should be doing....and the makeup artist does the very last inspection or just your eyeshadow...I know...but then again how to keep the plaques from spreading and reappearing on your skin besides not sweating as much....

It depends on your personality. The girls that are principals now have the kind of personalities that wanted to get it and do as much as they could. And no one should call anyone stupid, especially not Ashley Bouder. Come on.

The Waltz of the Snowflakes would like a word about all attention being on the corps de ballet. To have that many dancers so studied they can use their bodies in exact time with each other, is an amazing skill.

amar is dancing in a german company now but it seems like chase finlay will never dance again.
It's not blatant but these episodes really reveal what a d-bag he always was. Good riddance.

Institutions like the NYC Ballet take SO long to change (both in terms of access and image-- the people at the top are there for life and the culture can be very insular). Keep supporting companies and artists you want to see. Keep demanding that diversity becomes the norm (not the exception) and supporting programs that encourage access to the arts.

You complain at Apprenticeship. Complain at Corps. Complain at Soloists. Then you get the Principal you've always dreamed of, you continue with the complaining.

KRLEEQ maybe he shouldn’t have come close to being involved in that scandal! Shouldn’t be forgiven in my opinion, whether how good he was
I could do without it. Seeing him dance now is overly distracting.
He and his lawyers went to the union to demand his job back because in the end he was never officially charged with anything. He's still listen on the company website and his profile is still up - but I didn't see him cast in anything even per-pandemic.
