Brutii campaign is by far the easiest, because Scipii and Julii are going for less populated, poorer areas and Brutii are going first for Greece and then Asia Minor or Egypt. Easy access to wonders. Play as Brutii, build only temples of mercury then traders then ports, then capture the Collosus of Rhodes and you will have infinite money.
well.. try it on VH difficulty.. by the time you make it pass Greek /Macedonian and Thracian hordes of hoplites holding the mountain passes and heavily defended cities (and they will most likely gang up on you and Gauls as well for good measure because AI Julii are taking their friggin time) the other families have a pretty neat realm carved out for them, always fighting only one enemy at a time. Not to mention the Brutii don't start with even barracks. Cant even train hastati from the start and Julii start the game with Triarii.... -_-
It’s kind of a double edged sword, you just need a large amount of troops money to bribe and build things for trade etc. and tactics on the battlefield but I must admit Greece is a tough cookie if you ally or even think about allying or being friendly towards Dacia and Thrace boom you’re backstabbed, Greece is relentless as well, rebel navies are annoying when trying to blockade ports, Macedon is fairly easy but they come in with a lot of separate armies
If you want your hastati being crushed by militia hoplites yes. Greece is the easiest one I'd say. You have plenty of the only thing in the game you need in a great faction: money. Maybe I take too long, but by the time I get to Greece as Julii, I'm already having population problems with the ex Gallic settlements.
In battles with greeks and macedon you simply use cavalry to separate hoplites from cavalry and peltast, destroy them by cavalry and finally hoplites are easy to destroy even by velites. To conquer greece don't ever need hastati. Is very satisfactionate when you need only 4 cav to beat any their army. To the other hand if you play Julii you have at the begining hard woth Gauls becsuse they smash infantry by cavalry and they infantry with spears can beat Hastati and cavalry. But when you take Patavium and Milan you have 5 cities near and can spam troops to destroy every oponent. Playing as Scipii i never seen real resistance by Cartaginians. They usually fall bankrupt. Their campaing is most boring. No real resistance, but long distances between cities. Also playing as Scipii you must take Sicily to have good place to recruit army.

I love the Egyptian faction intro @ 05:17. However, the way CA represented Egypt in 270BC (the starting year of a new campaign) is rather false. In 270BC, the Ptolemic Dynasty controlled Egypt, which derived from Ptolemy I Soter (367 BC - 283), a Macedonian general that served under Alexander The Great in his eastern campaigns. He inherited the Satrapy of Egypt after Alexander's death in 322 in Babylon and held onto it for the rest of his life, even against the other Diadochi. By 270BC, Egypt was characterised as a very dynamic culture of Greco-Egyptian influences and was ruled by his Ptolemy's son, Ptolemy II Philadelphus. I tried to research as to why Egypt was incorrectly portrayed in RTW and it turns out CA wanted to portray Egypt as a 1500BC civilization due to the many Hellenic factions included in the game (Greek Cities, Macedon, Selucids, Pontus) that utilised the Phalangite/Hoplite as their primary infantry unit. Not only that but the popular culture images and icons that come to mind when people think of 'Ancient Egypt'. Gameplay wise, I see the marketing strategy CA did but historically, completely wrong. Shame that CA would eventually fuck the successor to this great game. I urge anyone to get Rome: Total War instead of its successor, and download mods for it because it is 100% better gameplay wise. Just my 2 cents..

Before my grandfathers grandfather was born this was our community. These are good forums, our developers live here in the offices and the conventions they watch over us. We are happy, we play, we argue on minor details and references, we have PCs and a monitor, a good life. But sometimes we must fight, the console peasants disturb the developers they burn the forums with their shit posts. they take what is ours, our fan base our specs and our high expectations. And the Peasants talk about their superior consoles and mobile gaming they put us to sleep with golden promises. When we wake all we had is Rome 2. They take our sons and turn them into little console peasants, Ha! So we fight to keep what is ours. What must stay ours! There can be no peace, no Peace with peasants, men of consoles and tablets and lies! THERE CAN BE ONLY WAR!
Leszek PL Yes I made it myself but the idea came from this which has been going around for a while. "gods, i hate dlc. My grandfather hated dlc too. Even before they made him pay for his eyes! Do you think i would be out here on the forum without good reason? Yes, ca needs a strong fanbase. No! Ca does not need unwashed sycophants lapping it all up! So, that's why i'm here. The leader of the revolution, to bring good gameplay to stinking barbarians. Family trees? That'd be good too. This war against the fanboys won't last long. And when it's done, i've got plans. This is all about total war. Total war set in rome! Going down that road means dealing with all my rivals. The moderators. The community team. Those gamespot elephant riders. The trolls and the forumites too. After all, the man who controls rome ii rules at least 173 regions. And one day, i will be mildly satisfied!"
I suppose that I managed to bring the Greeks in their former glory. I gave them back the east and the west, their old settlements. I gave them Rome too. I brought the Senate and their followers to their knees, as well as these Carthaginian elephant riders. I had to put the rest of the Greeks to the sword, sadly. Macedonians, Thracians, Seleucids. Even the greek leaders of Egypt, too. We just couldn't live in the same space all together now, could we? And the barbarians of the West. The Gauls, the Germans, the Britons. And so much more. I did winter war and summer war. And about the Eastern civilizations? Hah! How could I forgive them their invasions in Greece? I simply couldn't. I brought them the war to their land, the pain and the blood. I sacked their civilization. And so, Greece was made. From the East to the West. From North to the South. The Greeks united, and what was, came again. The Gods wished for the Greeks to be great again. But I did what I did, all by my own.
+JoshTheAvocado Obviously it didn't happened. But Alexander managed to conquer all of the known world back then, and could even invade Italy. But it didn't happen. Oh well. And in case you are referring to the downfall of the Byzantine Empire by the Ottomans, well. That was just the end. Like the end of the Roman Empire. Many empires fall and there's no exception.

The Roman House of Scypeae was definitely the best and the most truly one. "We do not forget, we did not forgive!" / "We have served Rome well and lead to GLORY"!
Go Roman House of Scypeae: "Justice, Glory and Serve Rome!"
When you read it you know that I don't speak so very well as you and your native english WORLD! When analysing it you should care about who wrote this and the meaning of it!
HAH...ONE MORE THING... IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE THE COMMENT WHY YOU READ IT?

;)
thank you!
Play it at 0.85 speed for maximum effect...
"Gods I hate Gauls" is such a badass and iconic way to start a speech, Julii voice actor is amazing as well
Greek intro hands down.
Thanks for taking me back to the day when even a simple video game required you to identify with a side and take a stand.
Thanks, OP.
Parthia's really underrated as a faction, I really enjoy using them and my campaign's going well. Same with Pontus and Armenia.
Eastern factions are really awesome in Europa Barbarorum . Baktria FTW !
Canaris3
mess with the Pahalvan-I Grinpanvar at your peril!
Europa Babarorum 2 is coming out soon though...
you can use pontus and Armenia?
idonotexist23 you'll have to mod the files it's easy
Parthia are pretty easy.
Barbarian intro is the best.
im pretty sure the barbs got no family cause well they barbs they criminal army
@@kaptainkpop6750 actually a barbarian was a term meant to anyone who was non roman
@@maleexile9053 Actually, barbarian are people who says "br br" from the word barbaroi.
0:00 Gauls
1:22 Bruttii (Brutus)
2:38 Carthage
3:52 Parthians
5:12 Egypt
6:31 Greece
7:46 Julii (Julius Ceaser)
9:02 Scipii (Scipio)
how i am supposed to unlock them in the ordinary conditions of the game? i don't see any factions but the Romans
Julii has nothing to do with Caesar
@@omarel-nemr6506 You must defeat them in the campaign to unlock them.
They are all really great, but my personal favorites are the ones of Carthage, Egypt and the Bruti. The former is especially tragic when you consider what happened to Carthage, Egypt's last sentence always gives me shivers and the Bruti are full of power and agressiveness.
Oh man the Karthago guy sounds so weird.
THERE CAN BE ONLY WAR!
xDD very nice But tell me true : Do you made it yourself?
And one day, i will be mildly satisfied!"
taxation is theft
JoeRingo118 They have very low standards and thus degrade ours as they infiltrate the PC master race.
JoeRingo118 Dude he was joking get a life
The Barbarian intro is powerful, it's like listening to an Eluveitie song. Love it.
Нет-нет! Будто смотришь фильм "храброе сердце")
But I did what I did, all by my own.
unfortunately that never happened in real life. they cant even defeat the muslims
+New Blood Congratulations you made whole world a dream paradise for homosexuals. XD
You wish.
I actually kinda felt bad for the gaul when the intro played
The Gods 2016! Make Greece Great Again.
Perhaps
the gauls intro is the best i fucking love that intro
eastern factions sound like isis recruitment video
Don't dare compare those dickless cunts with the legendary Persians and Parthians.
+Guts Likes It In The Ass lol im not comparing them to eachother. im comparing the intro speech for parthia in this videogame to isis recruitment videos. there is a difference.
+YuorMomFcuk that moment when the eastern spearmens uniform is the new isis military clothing
How dare you. are you a bigot?!
so YOU are indeed a racist bigot. its 2018, this kind of attitude shouldve been left in 2017. when will we learn.
A shiver down my spine after seeing this from what it seems like so long ago...
I like the Barbarian and Carthage, and Egypt intros.
They mean business and don't take crap from anyone.
who is here after remaster
I don't even speak German, but the German voices for these intros are so much better, especially for Carthage.
Scale of intros.
Badass- 1. Greeks
2. Brutii
3. Julii
4. Parthia
5. Egypt
6. Barbarians
7. Scipii
Gay- 8. Carthage
Don't forget to add all of the "intros" of Rome II at the very bottom =P
what? the barbarian intro is the best, all the roman intros are freaking boring :p
I prefer the barbarian intro out of all of them too be honest.
@@kelbeylambourne7902 Julii is still better than barbarian.
@@kubajcz It was just my opinion
Scipi, the betrayed ones, and the true ones who loved Rome who gave so much, best intro ! And Greek city states too both 2 are best
The Carthage intro always sends a shiver down my spine: "And I think the children will be quiet tonight..."
Didn't even finish Scipii intro...
*"the gods will gran-"*
okay, good to know
When he sad perhaps my heart broke
👍👍👍
Romans:The Senate and the other families must be destroyed
Every Greek related faction:Time to do something like Alexander but bigger
Egypt:Everything for Pharaoh
Barbarians:We hate Romans
Eastern Factions:We must make a new Persian enpire
Carthage: Ba’al sent me a vision about our city getting destroyed
whenever you play a roman faction, always go for Greece, there is so much more profit then going north or soutwest, always go for southeast in greece since the cities also is richer,
For the BRUTII.
My god, those intro was so dope, back in the days.
Now we get a small introduction of the campaign map, thats all. lol
The Julii intro gets your blood pumping like no other…
anyone else come back here because of the need to cleanse their eyes from the recycled filth of attila's faction openings?
Attila is still a really good game though
Every Attila intro started exactly the same
Ah Carthage, the first faction I ever destroyed...
turn on subtitle at 7:50
you're welcome
"I hate girls, my grandfather hated them too"
:The famous Roman quote
I love barbarians
i love their swordsmen
Both of you; gayest comments ever.
Horatio Hornblower looks like we got a greek over here
Swear down m8 on me nan, I'll rek you with my citizen cav. ;)
Horatio Hornblower i'll use my heavy onager spam on u!
"And one day... I WILL BE EMPEROR." - Gaius, settle down! XD
I hope new RTW will get these awesome opening (and closing) monologues. They put you in the mood so well...
(PoM uploaded losses not once. It is not his fault that he does not lose that much. XD)
"Gold can buy a thousand warriors... and they are the start of an empire!"
Me with 4 units of eastern spearmen: 😢😢😢
A thousand parthian horse archers are
Brutii: 'Lebensraum & Slaves, bah!', Julii: 'I hate Gauls', Parthians: 'We're so rich', Egypt: 'For Pharoah!', Carthage: 'I'm gonna feed my children to Baal'
We germans also want Lebensraum in the east..
Darn Scythian cowards!!! Why don’t y’all run your horses into our pikemen instead of running away!!!
THE SUN AND MOON NEVER SETTLED.
Literally the best computer game I've ever played I just wish you could play as pontus or armenia without a mod
you don't even need the mod you can just edit one of the campaign desc files and unlock every faction even rebels
TRUE NATURE OF GOOD FACE AND YELLOW OF WW-1.
I relate most to the Greek intro (they are my favourite faction as well
And 2nd most the the Barbarians (although I never played with any of them)
YEAH SIR THAT HW THEY R KNOWN AFTER WW-1,LAST WW-3.
I can't remember too, all factions that you can shoose in the beginning does have an intro I guess :)
HE TOOK A arjos and ARYANS ARMY TO FAR INER AND OUTER OCEAN.NOT EVEN NEAR HIM.
7:27: "Make Greece Great again"
hey guys im in 2021 and a Rome remastered is out now
I love the Carthage one, it was so eerie
The Julii intro always gets into my head
Always avoided carthage, something irks me about them (same with playing Mordor anywhere else).
Glad to see their intro perpetuates it.
Me too
Sacrifice the Child
I played with all the factons... Parthia and Seleucid were most dificult for me. Rome is definitely the one I love playing the most, then Cartage, Greeks and Egypt. The rest are not so inviting to me. The Roma Surrectum mode is awesome, I got it a few months ago and I LOVE IT! It takes the game on a whole new level... Can't wait for Rome 2 to come out...
Is there a mod that adds these intros to Rome 2? Adds soo much immersion at so little production cost.
Carthage 2:40 'last night the cry of the children kept me awake', you sacrificed the childern.
We Rome 1 fans are the only true Total War fans. We saved Total War. We drove out the fake fans. We made the Total War community. The fandom deserve respect for that. Respect and obedience! We know what is best for Total War. New remasters! Mods! Forums! New members! We know what must be done. Sega looked down their "streamlined" gameplay at all Rome 1 fans and they hate us! We're going to give them a reason to hate... when we've crushed them! Total War games, that's the answer. Total war games in the CA fist. And the other Total War games. Rome 2. TRASH! They have no respect for proper Total War gameplay. Atilla prostitute themselves. As if the normies matter! we Rome 1 fans must lead the Total War fandom.
man i just love the Scipii. i used them all the time when i played RTW
Scipii intro is the coolest!
that brutii profile pic tho.

"Why should Baal send us such a vision!? "
The Baal: "Sitting in the other planet drinking Milk Dango and reading Manga all day long. Pretending to be cute mommy waifu while ignoring her Emo son and overstrict daughter"
The Greek intro is the best (the music).
THIS DOUBLE.
Brutii knife in Caesar back.
I love how you can compare the Barbarian intro with the Warpath Campaign trailer.
Эх... Ностальгия...:(
Even after all this time I'm still addicted to this game
Parthia had the best inro, too bad the faction itself was pretty shit...
FOUND A SPOT TILL 2027.P-y.
Romans with American accents...
It was announced that "Completely scalable experience, with performance optimised for your PC or laptop. Witness the awesome scale of Total War: Rome II, no matter what your spec." dont believe me ? , look at they're main site . ;3
way better was rome 2
Wish I had time to delve into this game again.
The Carthaginian intro sucks ... Scipii intro = best intro!
Ikr XD
Lion Of Yoktan But on the other side, it's the funniest intro ... sounds like a crazy scientist from a cartoon who plans to conquer the world! ^^
merikurisumasu10 yeah lol
Carthage always sucked... Come at me puniis
It took you three wars to beat them down, and they couldn't even be arsed to fight for themselves. Get gud Rome.
