"See ya, pal!" "Wait, you're not gonna help me out here?" "Nah! I'm good!" "But don't you want to know-" "Ah, I'm sure I'll find out soon enough." "Man, I can be a real dick, sometimes."
I have cheated in this game from my PC using PS2 emulator from my PC which I did 8-9 years ago ☺ But before I run the game I first run a program called codebreaker to use Gradius V some of its cheats. But I don't think the person playing the game in this videoclip is cheating. Have you played this game for years from the easy levels to harder levels etc you have master it well I think. There are peoples who can play games very well which levels is very hard and difficult without dying, when they know what to do in a game and each levels ☺
this one, perfect cherry blossom,R-Type,strikers 1945 plus and many more put your concentration skills to the fucking limit once you got the hang of it you just can't stop...it's like a training to be the best I love shoot 'em ups!
This ending is one of the best I've seen. I loved this game despite never having enough skill to finish it. I used to play for hours. I never got past stage six, heh. Great game, great gameplay. :)
Elektronix but when will PS4 get one? Or a new CONTRA? I bought PS3 on Black Friday JUST FOR THIS GAME. I just beat it after using 7 continues. Awesome game but way too fucking hard on the first go.
I would love an HD version of this, or better yet, finish a full fledged Gradius VI. I’m hoping R-Type Final 2 sells so well it brings a resurgence of horizontal scrolling shooters with actual levels, instead of vertical bullet hell games everyone likes these days.
Only slows at boss deaths, but I like how it does that because it makes the explosions more dramatic and cool looking. It makes your lasers like...diffuse apart. It's so cool. XD
your partner sounded very calm when you left him behind in that exploding brain tunnel at the start. " okay, good luck" *is left behind* *tunnel explodes*
This is a really good game so far. Nice content. Thanks for sharing. Very helpful. Keep up the good work. I'm always blown away by your gameplay. Your strategies are top-tier. I learn so much from your videos. Looking forward to your next gaming adventure. never played this game. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I love how you're games. even if they're hard sometimes. Your authenticity is refreshing. Keep keeping it real. Great game. Your play throughout the game is absolutely engaging. It adds so much fun. The gameplay really good. Can't wait to see how you'll tackle the next level.
This is what Gradius/Nemesis should have always been!! Treasure made this game a pure bullet hell game with a lot of memorisation required! Loved every minute of it!! And having played the Sh*t out of this game....there are no cheats used here!!! Well played T-0815!!!
This is a Nightmare. I know the TREASURE team worked with KONAMI on this, and it shows. The worst thing, is the thought of one hit and you start with Nothing.
Well played -- you certainly had a couple of close calls there! =) I'm a fighter-game (e.g., Street Fighter) and first-person shooter player myself so props to you for completing this game.
I love that Point in Zone of Enders 2. Where you fight Leo who is piloting the Vic Viper. A true copy of the Gradius. And it will kick your ass quickly on normal and hard. A simi-dub version of old school Gradius music plays as Vic kicks your ass and teaches you old school is still the best school.
This game was out of control. 2-D shooting at its finest. It's such a pity that gamers today don't have the attention span for such masterpieces, thus we haven't gotten a Gradius VI. Also, while I do love Ikaruga, why the hell did we get that in HD, but not this? The very thought makes me weep inside.
Hello my friend @Hemant Samtani ... i think the same whenever i still watch this video! this guy must sleep with the game as a pillow! ... i love Lament of Innocence from Castlevania too! but i play most often Curse of Darkness! is a very emotive game just like Lament of Innocence! :D
Having played this myself I can say you do not go all the way through this game without a single death unless you know it very well and know what is coming.
@stringanime That's always been the trick to Gradius I think; you either go big or go home, because the second you lose all those awesome power ups, you're no longer the one-man army needed to win the war, and the chances of getting back to that point can be pretty slim, especially if you're mid-level. It's the frustrating truth, but this is one damn awesome shoot em up! Especially when you play with a friend (though I tend to game over even more quickly with a friend XD)
Just got this in the post today, reminds me a great deal of the SNES version. Played it for just under two hours but felt as if I'd been playing for a lot less. Going to dust down my ps2 this weekend for a long game but at the moment on my ps3. Also there's no way to create a custom weapon set like the snes is there? Also great gameplay, I didn't want to see spoilers but there were some very close moments. Whoever was playing has some nice reactions.
The Vic Viper's got a weird hitbox. I thought for sure you were a goner several times, especially in the asteroid field, but your ship made it out unscathed even though it overlapped some of the rocks.
+Vistico93 It was developed by Treasures, the company behind Radiant Silvergun. Anyway, they made the hitbox super small, like a couple of pixel, like bullet hell shooters.
Speaking of Raiden II, it is my all time favorite shmups. I'm no too accustomed to modern bullet hell shmups, though I still play. I wished they made shmups like the old days, like Einhander and R-Type Delta. Love those games to death.
@Quadraxis14 On the plus side, Gradius V generally makes it easier to recover with 4 options around, and a much smaller hitbox. You can get by decently with just a few speedups at the very least compared to other games in the series, not to mention enemies that drop powerups are a bit more common relative to the rest of the series.
How cool this game is. I wish there was a Gradius story that involved the alien race that created the bacterian empire. Venom, from one of the japanese games never released in the U.S. Called spacewar something made by konami went on to explain this. Venom is the name of a super genius alien conquerer who was defeated by the vic viper, doing this however gave birth to a planet (nemesis) and scatter the genius' biomatter all over the galaxy. Each part comes back to attack earth. TOO AWSOME!
If you ever played gradius for nintendo or life force for the same system this is the grown up version....i'd last about 3 minutes into this game it loooks HARD
man, you're good! i can't do that crap not to mention staying alive for that long. Is that on a hard level or normal? either way, you're very good and i would love to learn how play as good as you.
This game is awesome. I like how two Vic Vipers from different time periods kicked butt together. It's like Sonic Generations but 7 years early.
And the gameplay on stage 2 is getting recorded and played on that final level. That is awesome for me.
Awesome to the max! I suck at Gradius, but I love to watch someone that good playing it.
Gradius V is like "DARK SOULS of Shoot em up" games.
Nearly 20 years after the release of GRADIUS V, this is still a true masterpiece of a shoot em up game.
I like how they turned all this stuff into Yugioh cards.
Gradius and Life Force two of greatest konami games of ever
Nunca vi um jogo com esse grau de dificuldade tão elevado 😥
PARABÉNS 👏👏👏
Hahah final boss, "I'm outta here, good luck."
THANKS A LOT BUDDY :D
"See ya, pal!"
"Wait, you're not gonna help me out here?"
"Nah! I'm good!"
"But don't you want to know-"
"Ah, I'm sure I'll find out soon enough."

You too.
Yikes! The sound it really bit crunched x_x
HOW IN THE EVER LOVING F******%K DID YOU GET THROUGH ALL THAT SH******T WITHOUT GETTING KILLED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB !!!!
Magic.
Its called cheating 😉
It’s called not having a life outside of this
I have cheated in this game from my PC using PS2 emulator from my PC which I did 8-9 years ago ☺ But before I run the game I first run a program called codebreaker to use Gradius V some of its cheats. Great game, great gameplay. :)
Stage 6? Stage 1 looks impossible… that thing is nuts. I thought R-Type was hard…
i also can’t get past stage 6 despite instantly reviving when killed.
these are some of the most beautiful games ever made.
dam these old school games were insanely hard lol
This shmup is pure gold! A must have on PS2
Gradius V turned 20 years old this year.
I would have never beaten this game had I had it. I applaud T-0815 for this gameplay. This series never was a piece of cake.
the backgrounds of this game are AMAZING
Wow this looks amazing. I am sooooo glad i still have my PS2 console
greatest gradius game ever made....this needs to come out on steam
It's absolutely amazing, I need to play it
thanks for posting, I really appreciate your job
The best Gradius game ever?
Elektronix but when will PS4 get one?
Or a new CONTRA?
I bought PS3 on Black Friday JUST FOR THIS GAME.
I just beat it after using 7 continues.
Awesome game but way too fucking hard on the first go.
Aww I always wanted to see this ending. Today, finally!! Thank you ~
I would love an HD version of this, or better yet, finish a full fledged Gradius VI.

I've seen a lot of shooters done by you guys, but this one was easily the most intense. Holy crap that was awesome!
This is what Gradius/Nemesis should have always been!! Treasure made this game a pure bullet hell game with a lot of memorisation required! Loved every minute of it!!
And having played the Sh*t out of this game....there are no cheats used here!!!

I didn't remember how long I was holding my breath while watching this longplay!. Thumbs up indeed!
This has too be one of the best gamers- the time it must have taken to get this good shows true dedication. :)
it's insane this game, i love it
You have one more follower
THATS THE BEST GRADIUS I EVER SEEN
I sure hope Konami makes a Gradius 6. I have been hearing rumors of a fully 3D Gradius in the works.
What?! No Moai level?! Awww... This was such a good Gradius game... but then they forgot to add in a Moai level! Aw, well, good playing all the same.
The first boss (the things on the wall spewing rings) are the closest thing to Moai in this Gradius.
That's a good thing,i hate those Moai
This game is hard as hell. Good gameplay. The last Gradius game
Have this game right here for the PS2, going to give it a blast again after seeing this video. Classic.
This is a Nightmare. I know the TREASURE team worked with KONAMI on this, and it shows. The worst thing, is the thought of one hit and you start with Nothing.
This is my favorite shooter of all time.
I do hope the future Gradius series (like maybe Gradius VII and more) will not become a first person shooter and third person shooter.
They already did that--it was called Solar Assault, and it was terrible.
it is not terrible....

Heh, I guess you're right about that. I too would love to see the non TAS longplays. Time is definitely a factor we could all use more of.
I would have lost at the 1st stage! lolll
Uploading a video of a game with music by Hitoshi Sakimoto, and the sound quality being THIS fucked up, should be a human rights violation.
stripedhyenuh Yea what the fuck was wrong with the audio here?
The person playing was using an emulator and ps2 emulation wasnt that good in 2010. They should really have someone replay it and reupload.
You sir deserve a huge thumb up :O Great skills!
That is what determination can achieve
very cool game. had me on so many memories I had played this game on PS2 system.
My hats off to the player, excellent work, great video! Not to mention great video game, definitely one I should consider buying sometime.
Starting at 24:40, you can see the process by which a proctologist removes colon cysts.
24:40
the green liquid part was Genious
the guy who tought of that deserves a Novel price
the incredible game from 2006
I love that Point in Zone of Enders 2. Where you fight Leo who is piloting the Vic Viper. A true copy of the Gradius. And it will kick your ass quickly on normal and hard. A simi-dub version of old school Gradius music plays as Vic kicks your ass and teaches you old school is still the best school.
Sensacional! Eu amava este jogo. É uma pena que a dificuldade do jogo era absurda para a minha infancia.
best graphic game
This game was out of control. 2-D shooting at its finest. It's such a pity that gamers today don't have the attention span for such masterpieces, thus we haven't gotten a Gradius VI. Also, while I do love Ikaruga, why the hell did we get that in HD, but not this? The very thought makes me weep inside.
Damn!! you're a master my friend! i can't pass off level 6!!! i defeated Castlevania games but his one is SO HARD for me!!!
I don't know how the hell I ever beat this game...forgot how incredibly hard it is! Still glad to own it though! :)
great performance! i enjoyed watching this :)
Now this is some solid game play! Good job T!!
Having played this myself I can say you do not go all the way through this game without a single death unless you know it very well and know what is coming.
I never could figure out why there was this seemingly gigantic disembodied digestive tract floating out in space somewhere.
Best PS2 shooter - ever.
That bit where the ship is tilting and the goo...thats just torture
Dude I grew up and saw shit like this in the arcades but never knew what it was called. I wish I would have played this!
Thanks for the longplay upload.
I loved that time travel twist.
THIS GUY IS A MASTER AT GRADIUS
Oh god! Definitely is Life Force on Ps2. Dat music, dat Brain ._.
7:10
Nothing quite like seeing yourself appear from the future to help you kick some ass.
You know shit's gonna get real then.

Alucinante para su tiempo!!!!

This game looks ridiculously difficult.
it is difficult, not even i can do what he does.
It is dificult, nearly impssible....All this games lines are challenging...
Even the first game is hard
but it mentioned dat this is the easiest gradius game ever....
The secret to be good in this game is you only have to watch your space ship.. not everywhere in screen.
The irony, Venom gets defeated by the space fighter he helped the Gradians design...
If Gradius was directed by Zack Snyder:
I JUST NOTICED PLATYPUS 2 (yes its a old game) IS KINDA LIKE GRADIUS V
Cuz of that brain alien boss in this game and platypus 2
"let's create a time warp"
ok.
This is a very great game.
That's not what we were talking about at all, grandpa.
THE BOSS IS ALWAYS SOME CRAZY TRANSFORMER
One of the latest mainline Gradius game
THAT REGENERATING LEVEL IS CRAZY
@A3000K Gradius V was developed under contract by Treasure in partnership with Konami. Konami is the publisher
I had no idea eyeballs were a suitable form of ammunition.
Treasure sure knows it's shooting games!
Reminds me of Life Force on NES.
kca49 Life Force is part of the Gradius series.
My favorite PS2 game.
Ever.
Gradius is like starwars can be better than starwars space battle
.
Wow
Wow, finally! A shmup by Treasure that doesn't suck.
I'm used to the old-school shooters like Raiden II where the entire ship was the hitbox so seeing modern shooters can be a bit of surreal experience.
Speaking of Raiden II, it is my all time favorite shmups. I'm no too accustomed to modern bullet hell shmups, though I still play. I wished they made shmups like the old days, like Einhander and R-Type Delta. Love those games to death.
+Vistico93 I think he has a force field powerup. The "?" on the last box.
@boostmeup Like many games developed by Treasure, the ship has a super small hitbox. That's why the ship didn't die in many of the encounters.
Crazy! , to hard for me. Glad I watched the whole thing.
I'm hoping Konami will make a brand new Gradius game with epic music, bosses, ships, weapons, levels just like Gradius V
Also nice run
Never heard of that my friend. But will look for it. Sorry for replying so late.
WTF
they filled their entire ship with acid as a defense mechanism.
First person shooter version of this with a helmet /visor with a 3D experience and I think you will have a reboot of this genre.
@Quadraxis14
On the plus side, Gradius V generally makes it easier to recover with 4 options around, and a much smaller hitbox. You can get by decently with just a few speedups at the very least compared to other games in the series, not to mention enemies that drop powerups are a bit more common relative to the rest of the series.
I used to play this game so much...

THANK GOD I finally found out what this game is called! I played this once at a museum but forgot to check it's name. Now I just need to get a copy.
It was the London science museum, they were doing an exhibit on video games through the ages and they had it on an old ps1
+Masterof thelag Old PS1? Since when can the PS1 play PS2 games?
*I meant PS2-my bad. I definitely liked it though.
man, you're good! i can't do that crap not to mention staying alive for that long. Is that on a hard level or normal? either way, you're very good and i would love to learn how play as good as you.
he kept it at normal...you can see what difficulty he is at at the very beginning when he goes into the options.
