I cannot stop listening. I love your style. You preform this song and others perfectly,! No note missing...it's ypur style and we love it. Great music and musicians! Now if only I knew where you perform, I would live to be there! Thank you for sharing your talent. Love your band. ❤
We travel every weekend seeing bands, most are good friends or soon to be☺️. I do pics & videos of them for our enjoyment & their use. These guys are one of our very favorites. They're from central Minnesota/Wisconsin & play the surrounding areas. Next up, St. Paul Winter Carnival. February 5 th. Go to thempeskykids.com 😉 Thanks for listening! Many other great bands on my TH-cam channel BandGalaxy.
People can be so critical. I *loved* this version of an undisputedly great song. And yeah, they might be missing the high notes of the chorus, but guess what: If I ever had a small rock band like Them Pesky Kids, this is EXACTLY how I'd cover 'Ah Leah." Oh, and we *would* cover it! So there. Great job by TPK (who don't actually look like kids anymore - just sayin'.) Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for watching. We see bands every weekend as you can see (if you follow the channel). These guys are very talented top notch. They do a variety. The big name bands wouldn't do everything perfect if they tried covering other bands songs either. Most cover bands don't make much doing gigs, it a part time thing. It's a hobby. Cut them slack. I'm thankful they do it. Not a fan of paying $200-$300 every time we want to rock out😏
@@BandGalaxy - Some people go to a show with the unrealistic expectation of hearing a note-for-note replication of some song. Not me! I love to hear how live bands interpret songs. Them Pesky Kids did a great job and really rocked this one...probably to an audience that wasn't so familiar with it. (But who can go wrong covering the great Donnie Iris!) I've listened to this over and over, and I like it more each time. I love how the guys (brothers?) traded-off Donnie Iris's lead vocal between the verse and the chorus. I've seen a number of '80s coverbands, and some of them are plain awful. Not these guys! Wish I could see them perform.
@@ThatBobGuy850 You're right. Even the big name bands tweak their songs when they do them live. Yeah, they compliment each other well. No, not brothers. Both Marks though 😏. They do other stuff independently also. Mark, on the left had a band Warpdrive in the 80's. Did a couple international albums & CD's.
@@BandGalaxy All the Portnoy/Morse projects are incredible. The new Transatlantic album should be 'album of the year' in a sane world, its incredible. Flying Colors, again, off the charts stuff. The song "Broken Sky/Long Day reprise" is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard by NMB
Very good cover better to be yourself than fail at mimicking. Harder edge works well. As someone else stated very hard to do the Donnie Iris high notes and your version plays to your strengths. That's what great bands do. Hendrix didn't try to be Dylan on "All Along The Watchtower" and the best version of Sweet Jane was by the Cowboy Junkies not the original by Lou Reed.
Thanks for the compliment! These guys are top notch. Not sure if you've seen any of their other stuff I've captured on my channel. Good friends, see them often. They've got some fame in their roots😉 & it shows.
Amen! If your just copying a song... why bother? ;-) The best covers are always much different than the "original". (Been on an "Ah, Leah" binge here tonight... ;-)
These guys sound great!! I actually did my own re-imagined cover of this song in a hard rock version about 3 years ago. It's on my channel if you want to check it out.
Absolutely the BEST cover of this song I have ever heard! And that's no joke. I want that damned guitar tone. Who is that guy on our left so I can threaten him into divulging his equipment and settings?
Nice job!! Million dollar question.... I've always played this in tha same key... But.... Is it D on the record or C#? LMAO I'm thinking C# from what I've seen of him playing live. Any6, dig the song and the band name!!
Love these guys, always spot on, Mark (center) has an amazing voice, great range) I have a number of videos of them. Good friends, see them often. Thanks for watching!!
That’s how you cover a song and make it your own.
Lol, this was pretty shitty...
agree 100%
They are pretty much playing the studio version. I covered this song for 10 year. I know Donnie Iris.
One of my favorite local bands in Minneapolis. The lead guitar player kills it on every song.
agree 100%
I was just smoking cigars and playing pool with Donnie. He's still going strong at 81.
Wow,amazing cover !!
agree 100%
Great song. You guys nailed it.
Wow!! Epic performance and killer song choice.
Metal fan in the 80s, but loved this song. Always thought it should've been harder. Great job making it more as it should have been.

Killer job with the opening riff !!!
I love bands with the guts to play this because of the harmonies.
These guys are top notch talent!
Thanks for watching!
This absolutely rules! Bravo!
I LOVE that song by Donnie. This is a really good cover, well done, fellas!!
VERY hard song to cover ! GREAT job, boys !!
Talented and cute I give it a ten great cover ❤
Awesome cover.
What a great version, nicely done TPK!
Excellent cover !!!
Donnie Iris even had a hard time doing it live.
this song can be hard to perform live because of the layers of vocals on the chorus. So Well done here. Great Job!!!! Great Song!
Thanks for listening! I have more videos from these guys on my channel too! 😉
I wondered what happened to Nelson
HAAA HA!!!
Wrong Nelson?
So talented. You guys make it look easy
It is easy to learn someone else's tune compared to writing one...
@@dennis8309 have you tried learning to play a song on an instrument?
great song, you guys do it justice!
The Harmonies Are Key Here In This Song.Well Done Guy's !!
Lol, those harmonies are mediocre at best...
Nicely done.
Very nice cover. Like someone else said Donnie Iris has a HARD voice to replicate.
Fantastic cover! Great job!
Thanks for listening
Fine job fellas. Great to this song has a future.
Beautiful Les Paul Guitar!
Excellent cover. Great job guys!
Nicely done. Tough voice to replicate.
Thanks for listening
Yes it was. well done, Gen x er here, miss those days. Good times.

That was a well done cover of a timeless classic! Great job!
This is good cover. Damn good! 👍

Well done guys!!
FANTASTIC JOB!!! OMG, OH MY, MY!!!!
Such a great band, & great guys!

@@BandGalaxy It's my pleasure. I will look forward to listening to more!!!👍😌🎶🎵
Dig the drummer. Relaxed, sitting low n

Great job
Chorus, the one thing that everybody looks forward to, and it's not there
Well done gentlemen
Awesome 😎 Cover Song.
Great work guys! I'm deaf now..
Congratulations
Nice cover!
Nice job, boys!!
Preeeety cool. Never really heard anyone pull this off this well live.

all in all , sounded fine ta me even with no keyboard parts. Correct tempo
Not bad I'll listen to it
They look like the Nelsons

Bon band

great cover..just missing those higher notes on the chorus harmonies

Oh Btw FGB !!!! Bear Down !!
This is ok...but not the remake this song deserves. Imagine Guns-N-Roses....maybe Ugly Kid Joe? doing it back in the day...
I guess they couldn't sing the high part at the end...............
Where are the keyboards? Where are the layered background vocals? Where are the "ah, ah, ah's," during the bridge section?! Unimpressed, hehehe!!!

Skipped the high notes - denied!
Nice job though.
This was awesome but you guys didnt do the best part of the song!
Lol, this is really really bad...
Great song bad cover. Maybe it is just the audio but vocals sound bad. Music not that great either.
Vocals and harmonies are horrible.
Must be my recording, because it sounded great live. Those guys are awesome!
@@BandGalaxy I'm from Pittsburgh where Donnie is from. I've been seeing him for 40 years.
Dude give them a break! This song has some of the toughest harmonies ever recorded. They are doing this live and being recorded on a phone
