- This video takes you inside our Lansing, Michigan, USA factory (we've since moved to Grand Ledge, Michigan in 2016), and lets you see how we hand-craft a box spring and mattress. It shows every step of a single-sided pillow top mattress being manufactured. We have been making beds for over 75 years now, so come see how we do it!

I always knew making box spring use woods, metal, springs and fabric but never built or thought how long it could take a person to make one and after seeing this video I now understand the importance and value of it. Just thinking if technology wasn’t here, it could take days to make one another reason why it isn’t cheap to buy if you need a few box springs besides the matters. I appreciate this and thanks for the video.

I work for Justice bedding company here and watching this really makes what we do look cheap 😂 but we are also making beds for a handful of major contract companies so we are always busy. Box spring production in this video is very interesting. Couple things we lack though are space (we have sort of a small building) and teamwork. Thank you guys for sharing this, I will attempt to get this to the head of our company for changes hopefully.

Reminds me of working at Aireloom Bedding in 1985-1986 in El Monte, California until I got laid off. They would ship in the box spring frames and the mattress springs from Legget & Platt. The box spring coils were hand tied. It was a great company to work for ran by a blind man named King Karpen. Unfortunately the business was shut down when he died in the early 1990's.

good info watched this video as i am considering 2 different models of your mattresses. wish there was a video on the laurel mattress, but this is still a great video.
single sided pillow top mattress. i have not heard that term before, but it is what i think of as a boxed spring mattress, similar to a pocket spring mattress, but a stronger design. there is also a honey comb overlay made of wire to hold springs in place, but not used here. this type of spring design spreads the weight across the whole framework of springs. a lot of today's mattresses are made on the cheap, and are not meant to last. a bit like light bulbs. but this type are quality, don't be influenced by brand names check what you're paying for, there's a lot of competition. i had one that lasted 25 years before it began to sag. a slumberland. the weight is a clue to what is in it, cheaper ones are lighter

Does anyone know what the tool is,!and what it’s called,! that he’s using to fasten the grey padding to the box springs??? If it’s a hog ring gun I’ve never seen one like it.

US is all about presentation without underlying quality work.. my bed in in India is much stronger much cheaper and more durable..that explains why 3 rd worlds doesn’t shake much in crisis
