the most impressed thing is how they vacuum and pack the mattress. Because of of the time the transporting a mattress is bulky and it add up to cost and manpower. By packing like that, u can literally buy and load it up into your car and unpacked it at home. Mattres can be sold more cheap because they can saving on shipping and transporting to customer house

The koreans do a lot of design work, this catches the eye of the customer as well and you could see the quality as the person at the end jumped into the bed and the bottle stand still.

I used to work in a factory that makes the open cell foams that go into mattresses, as well as office chairs, sofas etc. I operated computer CNC machines like the one in this video too, so i'm very familiar with these materials.
This is a small factory, compared to the one I worked in, here in Australia. The foam pour is a different process as well - we used to manufacture 30-50 buns of foam per day in different grades, using a tunnel pour process with breathing apparatus needed as these foams can give off nasty fumes as they off-gas during the chemical reaction, expansion and curing process. Memory foam (one trade name is "Luxura") formulations have changed over the years though. Waste off-cut foams can be recycled for use as carpet underlay, too. Also a band slitter and rotary band slitter was used to slice the foam into sheets, instead of the CNC machine here, which worked better for the volumes needed in the production process.
Otherwise, the main differences I see are some of the materials used though pocket sprung mattresses are very common now. Good to see the vacuum packed solution too, as it makes transportation so much easier!

I used to work in a mattress factory in Thailand. Everything was done manually. And loading mattresses for export onto containers were the most difficult part. Here everything is so simplified. The packing of the mattress is simply amazing. If only we could have done this. We used to press the pillows for export. This is really amazing. Our foam making process as quite risky and the chemical were mixed manually and poured into moulds. P
Was your health okay after working with all the foam? It off-gasses lots of volatile organic compounds.

Самое интересное из всех процессов было вакумирование. Я такого ещё не видел, чтобы такой толстый матрас сжали и скрутили в рулон. Ещё и с пружинами. Очень удобно для складирования и перевозок.

C'est sacrément technique comme fabrication , et je peux dorénavant comprendre le coût de certains matelas à ressorts.

Дело в том, что там простой пружинный блок. А если ты берешь матрас с разной жёсткостью пружин, так называемый ортопедический, то закатать его в вакуум не получится. Он просто може не восстановить форму первоначальную.
Прожил там шесть лет, ни разу не видел в магазине свёрнутый в рулон матрас... хотя в магазине выставляются уже собранные кровати, что называется товар лицом, возможно при покупке дают свернутый, хотя впервые вижу что его так сворачивают.
Я покупала свёрнутый матрас в Москве гипермаркете Ашан. После распаковки пружины расправляются.
