    James Gandolfini got a phone call in the middle of the nightt the caller said, boss of the family does not wear shorts the phone disconnected so obviously they were watching the show.

      Well a Don wouldn't wear shorts..but that never , ever happened . Just a rumor that went around bc Carmine Luprttasi told Tony Soprano that in an episode. Jimmie in dead and gone now , don't tell lies or speak I'll of the dead. Ok

    I read the book it's very enjoyable and the interviews are as well. My issue is what did his work actually accomplish in the big picture. NJ family is still doing their thing with new faces and new names. Charlie is gone but the operations continue on without him.

    Louie dog Oliveira was made by John Riggi just like a lot of the other guys in the 80s so I don't know how he didn't do it the right way. passing a list of names around is no longer the right way after lists have been seized by the feds the past 3 decades

    Guys like Rocco and Pistone are American heroes. They are guys who do what it takes to do right.

    • @doctorblue6375
      @doctorblue6375 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say that. Those guys nabbed up some medium sized fish and in the scheme of things those mafia families continued on without them like it never happened. These undercovers don't change the way the mob does things they just pick off some members and new ones fill the shoes right away.

    • @vanmoody
      @vanmoody 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@doctorblue6375 I guess you get what you can under the Law. You do make a good point about how Cosa Nostra had people to fill in vacancies. I think that is why they were so successful for a long time. It seemed like when Irish criminals were brought to justice there wasn't someone immediately to take up the mantle.

    • @HistoryToBeTold-Channel
      @HistoryToBeTold-Channel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vanmoody that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. The LCN members are usually guys over the 50 and 60. The more italian american communities were assimilated into american society, the more the mafia grows weaker because their recruting pool is getting empty day after day.
