      Definitely not a micro plus, but it is similar... I can see why you'd say that (I'll give you a shout out in the next video) 👍

    its deffo a birchwood vanguard from late 1970s.. it did have a bulkhead from new so was a seperate cabin... had a cooker one side and sink on other side...

      I think you’re on the right lines mate but when I google Birchwood Vanguard, they look a bit more rounded on the cabin. I don’t suppose you have any photos of your old one?

    Hi mate, bit late to the story and have nothing to give except words of encouragement,, what a bloody amazing difference you made just cleaning the inside.
    Daft question as Im not a boaty but during the storage and renovation could you not exagerate the trim of the boat to force all the water to the lowest point?
    I say that because I noticed that water accumulated in the cabin floor area, so if you tilted the boat that and any silt it contained would flow to one (easier to clean) area.
    Cracking job so far, looking forwards to catching up with the rest of the story

      @@scottsorby7966 you’re exactly right mate, I have lifted the forward end so all the water now runs to the aft. This is also how it will sit in the water with the heavy engine on the aft.

    Just to let you know those are not stringers ,stringers go bow to stern , what you have there are actually called “floors” I know it’s confusing but google it and it explains it

      Every day's a school day! Thanks for the info. I've been on some pretty big jobs where we have replaced these (but in steel) in offshore supertankers and even then we called them stringers - probably force of habit!

    Is there no drain plugs at the back of that boat?

    • @Danyorks
      @Danyorks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brianmalady1190 someone has removed it and patched it up in the past. I’m undecided whether or not to put one back in as it’s going to live in the water rather than on a trailer.

    If your boat was built after 1998 there should be a small plate or similar on the starboard side transom with the HIN number (Hull identification number)... am I teaching grandpa to suck eggs with this info?

    • @Danyorks
      @Danyorks  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BoggWeasel This is a much older hull… I’m guessing 1970’s from the shape, and not a single ID tag anywhere! I can see that there has been an oval shaped badge of some sort on the overhead canopy but it’s now long gone unfortunately! 👍
