I see you have a ky Hoodia on
Yeah, my wife is from Lexington, KY and I lived over there for 5 years.
@@Danyorks I live 1 hr east of Lexington. And is your boat a smart-liner. So where are you.
@@fishenbyfaithoutdoors2589 we live back in England now (East Yorkshire). We still have family in Greenup, KY.
I wish I could find one of those here in the states.
If you pay the fuel, I’ll sail it across when it’s finished 😂 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
@@Danyorks lol. That would be fun. But might get a little harry on the water.
Looks and sounds more like polyester resin, not epoxy. Epoxy hardener ratios are much higher and has longer curing time
@@Kingfisher-jr26 I’ll find out next time I’m down the boat yard 👍
Hi mate quick tip if you round the edges of your wood the mating will go round better also put your mix in a paint roller tray it will last longer. Doing a good Job mate.
@@Philip-u2xI have since seen the rounding of edges on other videos (wish I’d known 😂). As for the tray tip I didn’t know - I’ll try that! Thanks for the advice… I’ll pass it on in the next video 👍👍
Looks similar to the 1970's Buckingham cruiser that my parents owned and fitted out themselves although I think this is shorter. That had a fixed flying bridge and twin front windows IIRC
Hi mate doing a good Job . Is the boat a wilson flyer?
Thanks pal - not a Wilson Flyer though, they have a cathedral type hull and mine is a semi displacement hull (in my opinion) 👍
@Danyorks When I looked at the boat I noticed the Hull was different but similar cabin. Hopefully someone will know what type it is.

Grand Job, coming along nicely... and nothing for nothing, not being snippy... boats don't have floors, they have decks....😁👍👍👍👍👍
You are dead right but it felt like I was ‘bigging it up too much’ calling it a deck at this stage… maybe when I start to glass it all in 😂😂
@@Danyorks Make a sailor out of you yet. looking forwards to launch day 😁👍
@@BoggWeaselme too - some point next year is the intended launch date 🎉
its deffo a birchwood vanguard from late 1970s.. it did have a bulkhead from new so was a seperate cabin... had a cooker one side and sink on other side...
I think you’re on the right lines mate but when I google Birchwood Vanguard, they look a bit more rounded on the cabin. I don’t suppose you have any photos of your old one?
its a birchwood vanguard , i had one as my first boat... its a great boat that can go on canals and coastal...
I think you’re on the right lines mate but when I google Birchwood Vanguard, they look a bit more rounded on the cabin.
Nice 👍
@@sheilabutton thank you ☺️
Hi mate your boat is a micro plus 17 regards Terry ....and i claim the £25 voucher 😂
Definitely not a micro plus, but it is similar... I can see why you'd say that (I'll give you a shout out in the next video) 👍
HI MATE , your boat is a micro plus 17 GOOGLE IT
I've been watching the boat restoration project with interest. You'll not go wrong with the Tohatsu - I've got the 20 hp and it has been very reliable and economic. No idea what make or model the boat is. Good luck with the project. 👏
Thanks mate, yeah I really like the look of the Tohatsu, hopefully it will pair up nicely with the boat. Tight lines 👍
If your boat was built after 1998 there should be a small plate or similar on the starboard side transom with the HIN number (Hull identification number)... am I teaching grandpa to suck eggs with this info?
@@BoggWeasel This is a much older hull… I’m guessing 1970’s from the shape, and not a single ID tag anywhere! I can see that there has been an oval shaped badge of some sort on the overhead canopy but it’s now long gone unfortunately! 👍
Good luck with the project
My kind of project, looking forwards to see how it progresses. 🙂👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah, I'm enjoying it so far... more videos on the way!
I had to subscribe. Good luck rebuilding the boat. Just to let you know my buddy and I have a bet as to how long till your wife gets mad enough to spank ya. Looking forward to more videos. Cant wait to see you get it on the water!
Cheers bud… she’s used to it by now! 😂😂
Shame no-one's come up with a custom stock for the HW100 BP(S&K). I hear the soft touch coating doesn't do too well with time. The beech wood under the coating although nice enough, isn't walnut, or laminate is it?
This is great, thanks for the detailed explanation. Definitely a useful truck now. I was thinking of doing something similar to a Mitsubishi L200.
Great restoration! You've really given that rifle a new lease of life.
Nice job!
Hi mate just watched your video. It was brilliant. Can i pm you ? Cheers
Absolutely mate 👍
@@Danyorks i have a spinter tipper van. I was wondering could you make back tailboard for me ? I will pay you

Hello looking for a contact for you Email ?in the north looking for someone to build a chip boxs for a pickup seen your video.
Sorry mate, I don’t build them to sell - this was just a project 👍
'Promosm'
Beautifull ! got to love a humble crafts man .Im going to do a garbage Skip/dumpster on a small free trailer i want to get rid of the 40.00 a month pickup fee. principle the same .Thanks Dan.
I like it. Was thinking of no pipe arou d pin
The pipe increases the strength by a massive amount and prevents the box section from buckling. When tipping there is a lot of force on this hinge. If you don’t use the pipe, eventually the holes will wear.
Thanks for sharing ❤
Great video mate! Well made
Thanks mate 👍
Nice Job Thanks
Need scope monts to fit my Meteor mk4 where dod you purchase yours from ..They are such a pain to get hold of monts for mk4 and mk5 guns, keep up the good work .
How many cubic metres of capacity did you end up with ? Nice build love the aluminium siding , cheers
Good job. Do you rivert the planks to the aluminium on the inside
Sure do mate… you could rivet the outer side also for strength but I prefer the look. 👍
how many shots in 22 fac
Awesome build! I'm currently in the process of rebuilding a 96 Chevy 1ton. I also ran into the problem of the bed not tilting far enough with the design and hydraulic ram I'm working with. Looks like we are using very similar designs. You said in the video that you have the drawings/measurements for the 2 center pieces that will be doing all the lifting. Are those drawings still available? Thanks!
Hi Eric, unfortunately not as this was a couple of years ago. You can always move the arrangement towards the back of the vehicle to increase the tipping angle. I made up cardboard templates to fabricate framework around the ram first.
hi . what about the 11:30 NOW PLAYING though you would of got one of Weihrauch HW 110 Laminate. i belive there some promblems with them ?
Would be very interested in a rough cost
looks like the top piece extends a inch or two. What will you use to keep the spacing between the bottom and top?
Nice piece of hardwood (similar in size to the piece of softwood in the video). A piece of wood stops the body rattling when the truck is empty 👍
Great job but I think everyone would like the hydraulic ram housing dimensions…?
Great build, I want one, touch of the Tommy Coopers "Not like that, like that".
great job
Nice work mate 👍
Top job pal cheers for sharing.
I've got one of these, same vintage, not been fired for 45+ years. I'm not very confident in my abilities, where could I take it to be restored and how much should I expect to pay?
Well done
Solid.
Is the van still for sale?
Stunning van. Sounds great. I’ve got one otherwise would have been interested. Sounds nicer than mine. Do you think the Webber single carb helps?
It won’t be a motor in your heating. Probably the flaps at the heat exchangers.
Reason I say this is yours doesn’t have the blower. You can tell by the controls ie no speed adjustment.
Simple fix though.
Great work mate. Good to see people with precision and pride in their work. Very clean build. I am looking to build something similar, would have been easier for me if you were in Australia haha. Nice work.
Thanks 👍
Is it top heavy, much, going around corners , when fully loaded ?
