I’d love to foster animals, but my main problem is after feeding and bathing and taking care of such sweet dogs and cats I CANT LET GO, so my first foster attempt was 5 dogs which I now own and spoil.

I Do What I Want Tragically I saw another video where the shelter said that if they don’t have room for more animals, they’ll pick a pregnant dog because in a week or so they’ll have maybe 6 or 7 more dogs to find homes for instead of 1. End all high kill shelters.

I wouldn't just shed a tear, I'd be completely traumatized. This is not something that any of us should accept as the normal course of things. It's sickening how many perfectly healthy, innocent animals are being needlessly murdered in "shelters". There are always other options. We as a society can do better -- and we should. What we're doing now is unconscionable.

My "Ginger" was named Zoey. Every foster I brought into my home she became their nurturer. Even though she was only 6lbs! Lol! I lost her in 2018 after 17 beautiful years together ❤

Miss Tarrah I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my own Zoey February 17th 2020. She was a beautiful sassy 14 year old blind and diabetic minpin. She was so sweet and we miss her very much. We recently adopted a retired racing greyhound named Rainy. We tried to be dogless for awhile and we just couldn’t do it. Dogs are family ❤️🐾

When i was younger we simultaneously had a mother cat and dog. The dog had had a small litter, and I often noticed her letting the kittens nurse on her when the mother cat "needed a break" to go hunt or sleep. It seemed like such a beautiful and harmonious deal they had worked out
Isn’t it wild they were going to kill her and all those sweet unborn puppies... And ginger turns out to be super puppy mom and super foster mom to help all these other little ones in need?! She is doing SO much good. Thank you for being there for her💕😊🙌🏼

Look they just don't have a lot of resources. There's a lot of shelter dogs out there. And taking care of a momma and her puppies is a huge burden. Not to mention pitbulls don't have good prospects. They either prioritize, or all the dogs will starve to death crammed into a cage with half a dozen other dogs. It'd be worse than a puppy mill.
Shaming them won't help. Fostering will.

My hooman is working on starting a rescue that specializes in Pitty breeds. 65 percent of shelter dogs are Pitty breeds, and most never make it to the adoption floor. If they show the slightest "aggression" they are put down. Pitty breeds do not do very good in shelters, and the "aggression" they show is fear or stress. In foster environments, Pitties thrive. Save a Pitty and adopt, not breed.

She doesn't have a say in what a shelter decided to do with her. A fully cognitive human who might have been raped or prevention measures failed for them as can sometimes happen which can also be life threatening if the fetus is not terminated is a totally different situation
They never said how many puppies she had, so, I'm just going to imagine an insanely high number of puppies. She had 39 puppies.

I have never seen up so close puppies nursing and how calm mummy is.
I say this on every video where people are like "OMG THEY'D PUT DOWN A PREGNANT DOG? EVIL." Think about it this way. A shelter has limited resources. There's never enough money, food, space, and medical resources for the sheer amount of animals that need rescue/go through shelters. A public shelter literally has no choice but to take in EVERY single animal they are given, whether or not they have resources to care for the animal.
So, let's see here:
1. She's a pitbull; not highly adoptable, and so many residential areas have restrictions on them
2. Pregnant with a near dozen puppies
That's so many animals for them to take on. If this wonderful lady didn't take her in, it likely would've been VERY hard for them to raise and adopt out all those puppies. There are so many animal lives they're already trying to take care of without brining in 10+ new lives into the world.
This is not a matter of shelters being "evil" or heartless. They work at those shelters because they love animals. This falls on irresponsible pet ownership and not neutering/spaying animals. Euthanizing animals is very sadly a necessary evil until we get pet population under control. The best things to do to help is to spay/neuter your pets, donate to public ("kill") shelters, and foster animals if you are able.
Plus, shelters are not equipped to take care of babies at all really. They may have some resources, but not everything that is needed when caring for a baby. Babies need constant, around the clock, care for each individual baby. That’s why fosters are so crucial; they can care for the babies as needed while the shelters cannot.
I personally find it more tragic that there’s an overpopulation due to failure to spade and neuter, as well as negligence and lack of care for an animal, than I do to the fact that some animals have to be euthanized. It’s horrible that they do, and I truly wish that it didn’t have to be the case, but it’s really hard for shelters to support every animal (let alone new babies).
Kitten Lady is a foster on TH-cam here, and she did a video explaining why she thinks kill shelters are ok. It’s a really great video if you want to get more educated on why euthanization is needed sometimes and why kill shelters aren’t as bad as they sound.

@@AngrySpongeCraft why don't they take in donations for those shelters, in Scotland were l live there are loads of rescue shelters that depend on donations from the public,and no animal's are put to sleep unless health problems and they can't be saved but that doesn't happen very often thank God, but I'm sorry kill shelters are killer's to kill pregnant dog's and puppies that are not even born is difficult to swallow in my book sorry, l think it's heartbreaking to do this l give some money to the sspca in Scotland I've did it for a long time now, but surely people aren't that heartless to give donations to these kill places to help save them from death it's so sad that those poor dog's end up like that, saddened my heart to know this.. !!

I had a sweet dog named Ginger. I adopted her as a puppy and I was about 12. We spent so many hours exploring the woods nearby and just playing together. She was a sweet ol' girl. I still miss her.
These stories always bring happy tears

So I have an uncle who loves adopting little creatures. He has 3 iguanas, and 3 cats, and 3 dogs. One day one of the dogs gave birth to 8 puppies, and 7 weeks later the cat gave birth too! And when all but one was gone the mama dog would feed the kittens! Adorable! Now my uncle has had 6 iguanas, 19 dogs and puppies, and 10 kittens! They live in an apartment, so when the inspection comes around, he sends them all over to our house! I love them all so cute!!!
If I had a huge property, i’d adopt them all and just keep them all together as a loving family.

@Mycel nope, totally and completely false. Litter mates develop a pack just like any other dogs brought up together in a loving home (I've had three different sets of two over my life). And anyone who has a group of dogs and half a brain knows to have them all spayed and neutered.

Having fostered a few pregnant ex-strays, I cannot express how rewarding it is to give them a safe place to see out their pregnancy and the birth. They're feeling so vulnerable so having a warm home, ready supply of food and clean water, their own bed/bench, and just someone around to affirm their safety is the best. I've even had one mama give birth next to my bed and with every pup she'd lick my hand for me to check them, as if she wanted me to confirm her babies were alright.
