i can watch Amaury for hours. He is so well mannered and articulate and thoughtful. Good looking, of course. But it is his kindness and thoughtfulness that i like most.
I totally agree and his door to keep dust at bay is amazing.

Hi Steph, piano teacher here. May I suggest that you wrap the grand salon piano's pedals up so they are protected from the dust? The dust will affect their mechanism. Am also hoping that you have put a big blanket under the piano tarpaulin. A bigger tarpaulin might be good or even some plastic wrapping (like the sort that mattresses come in) over the top of it all right down to the floor, ie 3 layers of protection. Pianos are awfully difficult to clean. You have to take EVERYTHING apart, fiddly and expensive and I'm sure everyone is already busy enough without needing to fix a dusty piano! Cheers, Penny xo

Wrap the whole piano! Not just the pedals. Heavy cloth, too. And I’d go so far as to pull it as tight as possible around the bottom as well. Ruche it together and wrap it with a cord. This will help prevent dust from wafting up from underneath and still getting into the instrument. Alternatively, you could get a Mylar sheet and drape it over the piano and tape the edges to the floor. That would probably be best.
@@PipeDreamerJacques Excellent idea James. If it was me, I would be getting the piano movers in to take it apart and shift it into another room, but I live in a big city, not in the French countryside and am super fussy about my pianos

It is glorious a nd I love that you have a French craftsman working on it. It integrates the program with the land where Lalande is located Like how you supported the renewal of the old village pub. It would be lovely if you could introduce us to one or two of the people in the village..
The chapel is going to look wonderful after restoration.
If you had a small room with no use, you could put some mirrors and a chair so when Annalise attended you you could have a place to do hair and beauty treatments. La Lande is a huge community and people could have beauty treatments . :)
Michael and Amaury and Davey are just so lovely, nice to have gentlemen around. When Michael and Stephanie are together it’s magic
There are a lot of great men together there, Michael, Dan, Amaury, Phillip & Davey and a few I don't know their names. All of them have special talents & shine bright.

The easiest way to prepare a pumpkin is to put the whole thing in the oven and slowly roast until the meat is soft, let it cool and the skin will separate on its own and the seeds will scoop out easily. And the roasting keeps all the flavor and nutrients in. Try it sometime. SO easy! Thanks for sharing this festive day. It was so fun to watch.

Every episode is my favorite until the next one comes out! I can’t get over the door Amoury made to keep out the dust! Never ceases to amaze me. Love the teamwork while cooking and laughed when I saw Dan cooking after he said he wasn’t. Haha. Dinner looked spectacular

Thanksgiving and many people to be thankful for including the marvelous chapel restorer, and your genius cousin. Seeing other friends of LaLande is also a treat. It's going to be a wonderful year with many of the projects jumping forward at once. Apartments for Gerald and Natty. What about the main floor bathroom? Wallpapered and then...... did I miss something?
They’re waiting for Selmar to return from his travels. The project was his ‘baby’ and Stephanie wanted him to be there to finish it.

They were initially waiting for Selmar, then they got busy filming for Chateau DIY and also had all the leaks. Now Selmar has left again for some time, and they are going to finish it up without him at the next chance, I believe. Because they all want that loo back!

What a wonderful gathering of friends preparing food together and dining at a beautifully set table while eating dishes this southern cook from the Midwest in the States has not eaten.
The chapel restoration has me in awe. I am the proud caretaker of my family’s Century farm ( established in 1837) . It is 278 acres of mostly woods now with no original structures, only my great grandmothers simple farmhouse that her son’s built for her with wood milled on our property. Nothing grand, as they were farmers, but the history And stories I uncovered during the years it took to clean the house of papers stacked taller than myself changed my life for the better. I never knew my father’s family until after they had all died. The area is rich in history of the early settler’s of the county and Civil war. My great grandfather was born in 1866. One year after the chapel was built. Sadly, I have never left the United States ,so having the privilege of seeing France and other Countries through you and your TH-cam friends; it has been a wonderful experience and I thank you.

As we are about to prepare Thanksgiving 2023 here in New York, it's a sweet moment to travel back in time to visit our 'friends' at Lalande and have thanksgiving dinner with you all too, it gives such a festive and merrry feeling to have a houseful of loved ones, all working together to make a wonderful meal and enjoy, there is nothing like a big gathering and I'm thankful that at least through these vlogs, I get to experience that again after several years of small little dinners.

Well, I noted that, too, but then I thought......... they're British, not American, and Thanksgiving isn't really a thing there, so it's not like being left out at Christmas. LaLande being multi-national, they're just wanting to observe this holiday. It's quite cute that they're doing that. Funny to think the early Americans fled Britain largely for religious freedom and were inspired by their experiences here to create this institution, and now the Brits look over and say "Hey, I like that," and participate in it.
I also was sad to seeDan without his family, certainly makes 1 wonder?
I think that Annalise would have take the boys home to bed, it would have been a late night for them.
@@tnt8092 I don’t think there is anything unhappy going on; Annalise did say she was getting over a cold and also little boys that age can’t wait for such a late supper… they’d have been in bed asleep by the time dinner was served I imagine. She was just being a loving mum and wife.

I was watching an older video about the chapel and I was wondering when the restore was coming - this makes me so happy. I can't wait to see all that is done.

@@TheFiown - I think he needs help. Maybe he should wait till Amaury is finished the salon. It seems a daunting task for just one older gent. Warmer weather would also help. I do however think some kind of permanent heating should be installed. Best to keep the damp at bay.

Stephanie, you can say to Michael that Heston Blumenthal and all the big restaurants use a Thermomix as they see the benefit lol It helps with the things that take a lot of time so that they can spend quality time on the other things :) I love mine too!
omg!! About to serve the main course and the ceiling leaks. I think I went past laughter. It's like seeing a play with the behind - the - stage as well, and the lighting specialists, and the wardrobe people, and the ticket collectors, etc. All at once. I love it.

When I saw the chapel door handles months ago I thought “it looks like a hippo”. I even took a screen shot of it.

It is lovely to see all of you together for this day. We call it Happy Friendsgiving here in the states. Friendsgiving is a mashup of the word “friend” and “thanksgiving” that refers to a large meal among friends eaten during the Thanksgiving season. The level of formality is dependent on the participants, but the word first appeared around 2007 as an informal replacement for the holiday typically spent with family. xx
I am so thankful to you Stephanie. I love you and the family of Lalande. Each of you remind me of how grateful I am to be alive. I once loved to entertain but then life happened. I thought I would never be able to experience the love of hospitality again but you bought the joy of life back to me. What a great bunch of people, would have been lovely to see Kat and Josie along with their dry humour. I hope someone remembered to put together a plate of food to go home to the beautiful Annalise, poorly Mums on Kid duty need to keep their strength up.
"This is way more gourmet. We just cram..." LOL! An accurate assessment. My only peeve with episodes like this is that they leave me wanting all the recipes! So exciting that both the chapel and grand salon transformations are beginning. Both the chapel restorer and Amaury are such artisans. Amaury's temporary door still had to have a beautiful latch on it - I don't think he can resist creating beauty. Phillip's table was creative and lovely. Thanks for sharing such a day filled with friendship and joy.
Philip looks really handsome at the table………. he is so sweet and seems really happy these days ( and we now know why) The salt and pepper squirrels and little pumpkins were so sweet!

So much thanks for a great Thanksgiving! I am at home alone because COVID has run riot again in our community and I dare not get sick.
