You mean the genius of Peele. How many people are undisputed masters of 2 opposite genres and 3 different trades (actor, writer, and director). Even Key has said K&P was Peeles initiative.
@@ca8824 it's a Trey Parker/Matt Stone style collaboration. Even if Peele was the guy calling the shots you can't undervalue a good facilitator who helps bring their ideas to fruition.
I think this might make it worse... bullying is a defense mechanism that bullies adopted for a reason (abusive parent, etc.) Trying to take away this defense mechanism without first taking away the root cause (getting the child away from the abusive parent) is a bad idea. First the traumatic situation must actually be left, and only then can the natural healing process involving this self-aware cognitive work begin.
That won't fix the problem because it isn't addressing the problem. The bully has a bad home life and low self esteem issues. That's what needs to be addressed and fixed. The thing is how exactly do you fix this for every troubled student and who is responsible for doing it? And no, the answer isn't the teacher. Not because they wouldn't be effective or that they don't care, but it shouldn't have to be their job; they already have one: educating our students. And that should and does already take so much focus that they shouldn't have to be counselors on top of that. But there's the answer right there: school counselors should be the one who do it. But lack of funding and lack of the flexibility to do what is actually needed has made it hard for counselors to do their jobs. But let's not forget the abusive father. He's the root of the issue. So what do we do? Take the kid out of his care? Then what? Put them in foster care where the likelihood that they'll be further abused and/or neglected is very high? That's not an optimal solution and can potentially make the child worse unless they're placed in a good home and have proper support to heal. It would be awful nice is foster care was completely revamped but the powers that be haven't made that a priority. Which is another problem. What would be peak is if kids didn't end up with shitty parents in the first place.
Reading and speaking are two different things. Some very intelligent people who make a good living or are even in scientific fields have minor Dyslexia and generally have a hard time reading fluently. I even had Professor back in University who reads really slow, but damn that dude was a freaking human calculator and a great teacher. He actually changed my grade from a C to an A because I finally fucking understood higher Algebra and functional equations. That then sparked my interest in Physics. Damn I miss that guy...
A sketch, but it hits exactly where it needs to hit. It shows the true underlying problems of being misunderstood, not having emotional guidance and more deeper problems within you or your family and the projecting those things onto other people trying to feel better, without realizing it. Thank you very much for that very very very educational video. I loved it, even if it made me sad and hit more than just the truth.
@Flare Star no they ruin other ppl lives to feel better and they will never try to understand cause if they had that ability they would have never bully repeatedly,i say bullies should be beaten up like garbage
This is so true. I have generally been able to reduce bullying in classes I've taught by 95% by listening to bullies then offering them support and trying to act on their behalf. So many of these kids don't have an adult at home who they feel they can confide in, or worse the adults are the source of their anguish, about their problems (usually falling behind or being bullied by older kids themselves). A bit of compassion and empathy can go a long way.
@@agachess From your perspective, how accurate do you think this is across the spectrum of middle-high schoolers who bully? I've seen various thoughts, from some saying bad home conditions correlating to low self-esteem causing this, all the way to those raised in good conditions, but being predisposed to antisocial personality anyway perpetuating it *because* they're highly confident in themselves and the low likelihood they'll be punished. Just curious about your perspective
@@davidk7439 tbh with you I don't know about the statistics (or is it what u mean about accuracy). But what I know is that as what you said "predisposition" or genetics make a huge impact. Those who have high predisposition need only a slight "stress" just like bad home conditions to make them become like this. But even without this gene, any person can still become a bully. But not everyone can experience a more severe symptoms like antisocial personality disorder or conduct disorder. Only those who have the gene. If not, it takes them to experience a very severe experience of abuse to turn them into an antisocial person. Basically, I was referring to the diathesis-stress model.

It always surprises me how they nail every role they take, they totally get into character, and become the character
This skit is one of the best demonstrations of the genius of the key and Peele writing staff
You mean the genius of Peele. How many people are undisputed masters of 2 opposite genres and 3 different trades (actor, writer, and director). Even Key has said K&P was Peeles initiative.
Facts
Really? I mean did you laugh? Or did you clap…
@@ca8824 it's a Trey Parker/Matt Stone style collaboration. Even if Peele was the guy calling the shots you can't undervalue a good facilitator who helps bring their ideas to fruition.
Writing staff? They write this themselves? Why do you assume they don’t write their own stuff?
I like how the bullied kid isn't really thinking about his own misfortune and is just looking on with empathy by the end.
it'd be like getting assaulted by a talking dog. you're like whoa this sucks and hurts a lot but i'm also incredibly intrigued
How the hell are these grown ass men able to pull off a teenager's look in so many videos?!!
Because they teenagers
All they have to do is act like them
and shave in all sorts of places
Hint: No teenager looks like that

No ya'll, this should seriously be a like anti-bullying PSA sent out to schools.
@@Chickaqee You're right

A sketch, but it hits exactly where it needs to hit. It shows the true underlying problems of being misunderstood, not having emotional guidance and more deeper problems within you or your family and the projecting those things onto other people trying to feel better, without realizing it. Thank you very much for that very very very educational video. I loved it, even if it made me sad and hit more than just the truth.
No shit! Good post.
I don’t think anything can hit harder than the truth. The truth is exactly what it is and does exactly what it should to the listener.
And it was a bloody funny sketch!
@Flare Star no they ruin other ppl lives to feel better and they will never try to understand cause if they had that ability they would have never bully repeatedly,i say bullies should be beaten up like garbage
The only piece that is missing is the addressing of systemic reasons that such situations arise such as racial pay injustice, racial trauma, etc.
This is both hilarious, and Sad at the same time

One of the best comedy bits ever made
The way he said “why you gotta bother me man” sounded exactly like how a kid getting bullied actually sounds
Keep doing what you're doing. Im sure it means the world to those kids to know someone cares enough and listens, even if their situation can't change

From the title I thought the bully was going to start giving him wise life advice. That also would have been funny. I think the title should read "A Self-Aware Bully"
