I guess the title is wrong. The video must be talking about the YT Capra Al Comp 1 from last year. This years Capra has an e13 dropper post, sram guide rs brakes, sram x1 shifter, different saddle etc.
for the 2017 Capra, both AL models and the CF have an e-thirteen. The CF Pro has a raceface and the CF Pro Comp has the reverb. I swapped my reverb off my old bike, the e-thirteen isn't reliable.
They still have these 2017s in stock. I believe Mon. I'm pullin the trigger" on this model. They do spec the E 13 dropper.DH models are hot,and may even change my mind!lol i believe YT will have great success in 2018 all around the horn.. peace
you get a very similar spec on the Norco A7.1 but with a larger frame. i'm 6ft 2in and the Norco in XL fits me perfectly. you also get a lyric rct3 fork not just a rc3. the only thing I had a problem with was the dropper post. the 170mm rockshox reverb was just too long, so evans kindly swapped it for a 150mm. I even got a 10% discount which brought it down to the same price as this yt. i'm so glad I didn't bother with the yt or the canyon.
For $900 more than the YT, $400-$500 more with your 10% discount, I should hope something is an upgrade. While the spec is indeed somewhat similar, the Norco is one level below on many of the components (Guide R versus Guide RS, 180 mm rotors versus 200 mm, Chester/Ride/Aeffect versus Atlas and Turbine, GX versus X1, SRAM hubs versus DT). I'll give RCT3, boost, and the 3C Minions over the HT2's to maybe get it close to even. That said, I don't see a lot of reasons to spend more money on the Norco unless it's truly the one you want to buy or it fits you better (your case).
I'm torn between getting the 2018 yt jeffsy comp or this bike? What's best for someone who wants ta use their bike for everything like going out for a long ish ride and the going to bike parks? I only ride blue and red trails as I'm new ta mountain biking. Thanx
And wow ,if your riding a large at 5'8.. and I'm around 5'11, maybe I should be saddling on an XL.. Great heads up, I'll see when I notify them.. peace
@BikeRadar YT themsleves (on their website) says that up 'til 5' 10" you should choose a medium. I'm just under 5' 9". What's the advantages with choosing a large before a medium you think? Didn't quite get that...
It's actually surprising, but the Capra is shorter than its "little" brother, the JEFFSY, in reach and wheelbase. The JEFFSY however, being a regular trailbike, has a little bit steeper head angle, coming in at 66,5° in the low setting. But at 185cm I feel right at home on a size large there.
Can you pls advice me - I am exactly 6'ft tall and you mean that i need XL and not L?? According to YT the 2017 Capra XL is 6'1" to 6'7". I am riding a scott voltage 35 in L right now and really don't want to end up with bigger/longer bike. Thanks
I'm so lost of what to do... I'm 17 and started off on an older trek fuel. I realized i was progressing fast and outgrew the medium frame and 26" wheels. For this Christmas my parents helped me out with getting a Scott Genius 740. I've ridden it a couple times, and although it's a great bike, the fox 32 and shock isn't enough for my style of riding. If it wasn't for my local bike shop having the Scott on sale, I probably wouldn't have bought it.. and now im looking more into the Capras and idk whether I i should sell my Scott for the al comp.. is this bike decent at up hills at least? Everything else is promising. The only thing that worries me is the frame size running smaller.
b1gm3k I am 6'1 and just ordered the large. It will be here next week. Ill let you know how it fits. I read almost every thread about the sizing and it was split down the middle with how many 6 foot 6 foot 1 riders got larges vs XL. In the end it is all about how you feel on the bike. Hard to decide on others opinions
Thanks for the reply! I now ordered the xl one, becase yt support told me to take the xl and the cheapest one also was just available in xl any more in the sale. We will see how it fits. Available from the 26th. Hope yours fits nicely :)
What the hell are you starin' at ! I love it. The large fits me just fine and the bike is very playful. You can always add a few mm's reach with a new stem if needed. For me though the large feels and rides great.
Rode a CAPRA and thought it was way too rowdy as an all round bike [ was awesome for lift up blast down ] Ended up getting a GT FORCE X CARBON EXPERT £2250. For me it's a better all round bike.
@BikeRadar HELP! I'm having a grate trouble finding out which is the correct choice, the CAPRA or the JEFFSY. I do like climbing and pedaling but, I do love going downhill... any help and opinions are welcome! By the way I'm 6', if going into CAPRA, what size? does L is right?
the word unreliable is not worthy for the worlds best dropper the reverb.....its reliable for me 3 years no bleeding every week aggressive riding covered with dust and mud and i have no problem with it.
Jayseal ENDURO my bike has one, have had a couple of problems with it, but its all sorted out as soon as I bleed it. only thing I dont like is that its way slower in the cold. you must have been lucky
Ville QQ I mean not really, those were pretty mellow downhills and they wouldn't want to fill the video with boring uphill climbs, it would make the video a little boring, although I wish they would've talked more on the climbing aspects
you guys have the 2016 version...for 2017 the capra has guide rs, and a e13 trs dropper
I guess the title is wrong. The video must be talking about the YT Capra Al Comp 1 from last year. This years Capra has an e13 dropper post, sram guide rs brakes, sram x1 shifter, different saddle etc.
do you recomend this bike in 2020?
@@saguaro6122 100%!!
Is the branch/stick included when you buy it?
+Jack Leonard Junior No, but we'd be happy to sell you one as an aftermarket upgrade.
Got the comp 2 version of this with the rct3 forks and it’s amazing bought it this year and I love it
So yt capra al comp or canyon strive al 5.0 2017
I know how much this bike costs but others dont. Why do you never talk about the price in numbers? That is what counts the most for most people.
Thanks for the size part. @3:50. I am also 5'8 and I've been trying to decide large or medium.
I thought the AL Comp this year had an e13 dropper post and not a reverb...???
Cameron Roche Yes I just bought a Capra and it has a e13 dropperpost
Cameron Roche my jeffsy is coming with the e13 dropper! What's it like? I have heard good things!
bigarnd Its a ballbuster tho

I am 6'4" and ride the xl and its perfect.
do you still recomend this bike in 2020?
@@saguaro6122 not if you’re over 6’2”
The best bike ever, feel so nice on the descent sections!
I have the Capra al and I absolutely love it
glad they said bout sizing. at 6 4 i struggle to find any good deals for bikes
Norco A7.1 better spec and similar geometry.
prettyjohnshill76 Norco comes with GX shifting, aeffect components, standard SRAM hubs, only better thing I can find is that it has a Lyric RCT3.
They still have these 2017s in stock. I believe Mon. I'm pullin the trigger" on this model. They do spec the E 13 dropper.DH models are hot,and may even change my mind!lol i believe YT will have great success in 2018 all around the horn.. peace
I got my yt Capra cf comp for only £2500 and it has SRAM x1, rockshox lyrik, monarch rc3.
+BikeRadar
can you do a review about the conway wme 827
sounds like the bike for me, in xxl version :( come on yt there are loads of big riders out here)
Ray Neary if you shred hard, its definetly thr bike for you. they might add an xxl next year. They're not that big of a brand yet

Super cool bike & company! 👍

YT capra AL comp or Transition patrol 4? Torn between these two, but leaning towards the capra

Hey can you make a video that explain the bikes technology?
I like the Yt Capra 😍
And wow ,if your riding a large at 5'8.. and I'm around 5'11, maybe I should be saddling on an XL.. Great heads up, I'll see when I notify them.. peace
how does it climb
I think aluminium version would do better with 2x10 setup for climbing. Crankset with 22T on granny and 32T big chainring. Cassette 10x 11-36T.
How many contenders are there in this category?
@BikeRadar

The Capra is quite a short bike reach-wise. Reach on a large Capra is 443mm. compared to for example, 468mm on a large Canyon Strive.
Henric Oscarsson If your unsure always go the size up.-fabial barrel

FlowPublican huh, wierd
is the yt capra or the radon swoop more made for downhill?
BimonGames Bought a Capra and have to say it is a beast down the hill ;)
stressapfel I m also gonne buy the capra cf pro🙈😍

Absolutely, I'm 5 feet 11" and a Large is good for me, but on the short side, at 6 FT go for the XL.
Im 5ft 10 when you say on the short side , by how much ?
Im not even subscribed to you guys and I still got a notification saying you guys uploaded HOW?
It's a recommendation notification from TH-cam, I think
At 6 foot 2 inches should I even consider the capra or go to the jeffsy?
l JL Chaos JL i'm 6'1.5" and the XL is perfect. I even put a shorter stem on!! Get it. It's insane.
I'm 6' 3". What size should I get?
Which is better? Canyon Strive CF 7.0 or YT Capra CF?
Modey capra for descending, strive for climbing
Kinda want to do both but which company has better customer service if you know?
Now i'm looking at the CAPRA CF PRO RACE which looks way more value for money than the Strive CF 7.0
Modey capra

isn't the head angle 65°??
carol teodoru yep
what about uphill pedaling? does it work for longer tours?
Billy Hoyle late reply but, the answer is not really, it s a very aggresive enduro more inclined to downhill
Swoop 170 or Capra?
Matus Lojan id say the capra
Yt industries say that it has 65 head angle but here you say 64.something pls help is it 64 or 65
With size I should choice. I have 187 cm high.
Want that bike so bad!!!!!!!!
Can you fit a water bottle in that frame? Looks like not.
I’m 173cm. What size should I be on? I am thinking of purchasing a size small from a friend.
hope you didnt

why are PF BBs proliferating in mountain biking? all that weight saving should just be applied to roadbikes instead..
i'm about 176 cm tall, should I go M or L?
Juan Carlos Contreras I'm 177 and thought the same thing
hey guys!
i'm 178cm tall and got my capra in M, and it fits perfect!
i called the customer service of YT and they highly recommended me to take a M.
thanks! i got an L, used it 1 time and a guy stole it.. next time ill go for M
Large for dh
Med for more climbing

Esteban Garcia go for the capra. it climbs amazing
When are we seeing trail bikes?
Last years spec was so much better
The only one's I want are fucking sold out for more than 6 months!! Why advertise if they can't deliver them!!! So frustrating.
Capra is the best lol
Horrible mix between volume of the musik and the talking part.
i thought the giant reign was good value for money, turns out its not
