Sorry guys but coupe of mistakes here. The current Strive is from 2015 and for 2017 the race version is not longer than the regular - 2015 & 2016 were longer but the non-race was streched for this year. The only difference is in the specs - the race is with 1x the non-race is with 2x drivetrain for example.
2:55 well yeah no brand new bike should make a peep when riding. I promise it will creak after 1000 miles of trail riding just like literally any full suspension on the market
They're too expensive for this particular test, but rumour has it MBUK are also planning a Superbike of the Year, so there's always a chance we'll see Evil represented in that.
Im 1.75cm height and I put all the body measurements on Canyon site PPS and the size for me is Medium. You said the YT Capra frame is to small for M at my height and could chose size L? its the same for Canyon frame? I want to buy soon a bike and i want to make sure i buy the right size and if i buy size M is not to short for me . thx
I´m biking for nearly 20 years now, but in the last three years i got so tired about the geometry discussion. I call a Propain Tyee in L as my enduro (or call it "do everything bike) and a Nicolai Ion ST in M as my parkbike my own, both are kind of oldschool. The Tyee has a 65,5° HA and a reach of 438mm, the Ion has 63,7° HA and a reach of 409mm. They are not the fastest, not the most fanciest and clearly not the modernst bikes, but the are a hell lot of fun. Both of them are 26", both of them are custom build, both of them feel exactly the way I want. In most bikeparks here in germany you`ll have lots more fun with a smaller, more agyle bike than with those "slacker, longer, deeper" new era bikes.
I argued the same thing. These long slack geometries work well for fast and steep trails. And even then only if you dare go fast enough. I don't have regular access to such trails, near where I live. I have to take a holiday and get a hotel to be able to ride such trails.
Where can I buy this bike?! I looked for it on the canyon website and it was nowhere to be found. The closest model was the strive Al 5.0. Not the race 5.0?help
U can get it anymore ad canyon have stopped the race line so they are all the same so the same bike as that would be the 6.0 which costs the same as the 5.0 race
RACE vs. STD Strive? "A bit more aggressive. That bit longer. More stable. Better at riding faster downhill." What exactly is longer? Please explain. All AL models share the exact same geo and dimensions, suspension travel front/rear and angles. Personally I think RACE = 1-by drivetrain by Sram and STD (or rather: no designation) = 2x11 by Shimano. Nothing else.
Hello bike radar. I need your help please. I am looking to buy my 1st bike and was considering a cannondale caad12 105. Could you please tell me if this is a good bike?. I will appreciate your help. Thank you sir
Hey Brown 266, thanks for the comment. Yes we think its a great bike, it even won our 2016 bike of the year. Check out the review th-cam.com/video/XTCs_-OQlBU/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
i rode both and i didnt feel comfortable on the swoop at all. The Canyon was an amazing bike. And it felt great at climbs and decents. I will probably buy a strive next week. I have to decide between the capra and the strive.
i have had the pleasure of cycling both. i currently own last year's radon swoop 170 10.0. compared with the canyon the frame if much longer and slacker, also felt lighter..still has geometry adjustment however for xc. mine was exactly the same price as this model strive but has far better components. check out the spec in this link. www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/radon-swoop-170-10.0-468315 this year models are different spec but has the same aggressive frame.
it isn t bad but also much more expensive, personally i think strive gains more in climbing than loses to swoop in descending, so choice depends on style of riding
So tired of the "it needs to be slacker" mantra... my 67* Trance goes to Whistler and does just fine. The engineers know how to design a bike, the marketing CEOs know how to ruin it, just to favour the spec sheet consumers.
I do agree it's kind of stupid to include small preferences like the head angle in here. There's an upside to being 63 or 66 but both have a downside as well. Thought if this is purely for Enduro purposes then sure 63 is just better. But if this Enduro bike is your only bike and it's supposed to do it all then I think it's a toss up between the "extremes" of head angle. When you go too low then maneuverability in those slow and cramped places suffers. The vast majority of Endubros have their bike as a do it all machine and not purely for Enduro racing, so in that regard it shouldn't matter much if it's 63 or 66 because it doesn't matter to the people buying the bike. I mean some prefer 63 some 66 but one is not clearly better for a do it all bike, it's preference.
Getting my first full sus bike soon #straightoutofwalmart

They're too expensive for this particular test, but rumour has it MBUK are also planning a Superbike of the Year, so there's always a chance we'll see Evil represented in that.
BikeRadar thanks a lot! keep up the great testing

Im 168cm tall, is small frame canyon strive fits for me or medium?
THE Mechanic medium
Does anyone know how I can get this if I live in California?
nope. not available in the US yet.
Will be available to California from September I think.
Why not the Carbon version?
If you look in the description it says sub-£3000
is Mondraker dune on the list?
Diego Perez It's way above the price point of the test.
Juan Cristobal Moo. well not de aluminum basic one
what's with the plastic spoke protector at the back of the cassette? Haven't seen on of those on a top end bike in over 10 years. Ugly as hell
hello.. i want some advice.. i'm planing to buy Canyon strive 6.0 race and i'm 5'6" tall.. what size should i get?? Small or medium?? thanks
JC mix26 smediall
Canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon, canyon...

Nice!
I can't decide on swoop 8.0 or this? Anyone ridden either?
i rode both and i didnt feel comfortable on the swoop at all. The Canyon was an amazing bike. And it felt great at climbs and decents. I will probably buy a strive next week. I have to decide between the capra and the strive.
Bike Lover I took a totally different route and got myself a jeffsy cf 27.5 and love it! I would capra all day if that's in your selection 😊
i dont like the fact that i cant really test ride it :(
Bike Lover get 14 day return, but tbh I think you'll love it and definitely won't be returning
ye need 2 try the radon swoop 170..better bike, better value.
How so?
i have had the pleasure of cycling both. i currently own last year's radon swoop 170 10.0. compared with the canyon the frame if much longer and slacker, also felt lighter..still has geometry adjustment however for xc. mine was exactly the same price as this model strive but has far better components. check out the spec in this link. www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/radon-swoop-170-10.0-468315

but it's so uuuugly...

But 10.0 is a 4 grand bike you can't compare that to a 3 grand bike.

Roger Neilson my bike has a 63° head angle
It's doing fine until you reach its limits.
Schnüffler Unerwünscht just like your wife
