      @@watchreviews4k Thanks. I knew it had the more expensive clasp with the diver extension, but didn't really see anything else to justify the inflated price range. If it has a better fitted bezel and brighter lume i wouldn't mind paying more for it.

    I got one of these 2 weeks ago second hand. It was bought a couple of months go and i got it in almost new condition. Although the lume initially isn't really bright on mine it lasts through the night well enough for me to read the time at a glance. The bezel really isn't great and the lume pip is almost non existant.
    The watch ran - 5 seconds a day and after some tweaking i got the NH35 now running at +3seconds a day for a week.
    I paid 60 Euros second hand with the silicon strap so for this money, and even at the regular price, for me it is a great every day beater watch.
    the sapphire crystal on it is a real pleasure to look at.
    If i were to buy it new i probably would go for the black/orange bezel and the steel bracelet.
    Long story short, the lume does it's job and for that money it's a whole lot of watch.
    Thank's for the nice review :)

    This is seriously nice and will be my first AliExpress watch. I just wish the divers extension was instead a 5mm quick extension. Almost no one wears these watches over a wet suit yet almost everyone would benefit from a 5 mm quick extension. Thanks for your thorough reviews, they make product purchasing much easier.

    I'm glad to see, that they've addressed the bracelet issue, that was characteristic of the initial executions, of this model. The original bracelet, utilized male endlinks, that allowed for the bracelet to drape in a manor, that exposed the rather roughly finished area, of the first link, where it connects to the endlink. It was especially noticeable, while on wrist. The use of female pivetted endlinks, has resolved this issue nicely, IMHO. I wonder, if this bracelet, would be compatible, w/ the PD1679. I feel that would make, the ideal "Planet Ocean" style homage. Excellent review as usual, WR, and thank you, for all of your hard work, and efforts. Cheers.....

      No, this model's bracelet will not fit the PD-1679. I just tried to swap the bracelet onto it. The case lug dimensions are not the same. the 'wing tips' prevent the end link from seating deeper. Oh well.

      Thank you for watching Mario. Glad you enjoyed it. I would prefer the Seamaster without a Helium Escape valve. It was the one thing I disliked about my Planet Ocean; which was a great watch. The Seamaster case shape is good looking, and comfortable on wrist; so its a shame they spoil it with the valve. It would have looked much better with a recessed valve like the Pelagos, and Sea-Dweller have. Regards.

    Good review, as I mentioned in another video, you need to try this model with the other 5-link seamaster homage bracelet that they are now doing, it will make it disappear on the wrist. They will probably send you one for free with your following, or if not around 20gbp I would think. Far far better bracelet than this way too bulky and heavy one!

    Hey another great well presented review. I was actually sent the 1667 out for review and it had chosen the White Dial with Blue Red accents. I felt it was it was and is a lot of watch for the price which I knew that not just would not last but rather that it would be more that it can't last and it sadly has already hit the end as the Tudor Homage that is being sent to me and will be my next piece up for review will indeed have the 8215 movement and of course non hack which I believe the shortage of the NH35 is Pagani creating the shortage so they may and they will transition in to two line ups, premium like these and a sub $100 line up 8215 and I really didnt want it to happen but in my review I did last month I spoke and I also had already written about the pricing cant last. Great review.
    Kashton

    • @watchreviews4k
      @watchreviews4k  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching Kashton. Glad you enjoyed it. The NH35A shortage in China was caused by a Covid outbreak in Malaysia where the movements are made. During the outbreak exports of the movements from Malaysia to China were restricted, hence the supply shortage; and wholesale price increase. Pagani Design originally used the Miyota 8205 in their PD-1661, and PD-1639 watches. Then they switched to using the NH35A as it is more popular with buyers. They switched back due to the aforementioned supply shortage. San Martin had the same supply shortage problem, but decided to use the Epson YN55A which is well proven, as it has been used for several years in many Orient watches including the; Kamasu, Kano, Ray, Bambino. Orient call it the Calibre F6922, but it is the same as the Epson Calibre YN55A. (Seiko Epson Corporation own Orient). I prefer the NH35A to the YN55A, and 8025. The YN55A is equal quallity to the NH35A, and has hacking. However as you say, the 8205 lacks hacking which is a negative. Since these changes the supply of NH35A has increased in China, and the wholesale prices have dropped making it more viable to use them. However Pagani Design, and San Martin will most probably continue using the 8205, and YN55A, respectively; as they have already made batches of the cases, dials, and case backs, to suit these movements. Regards, #WR4K

    • @TheDiveWatcher

      @@watchreviews4k thanks for the response. I had some quality control issues that arose with my Pagani 1667 and I had recorded a video earlier that I have not uploaded and not sure if I will. I spoke about big businesses and there is a part of me that deep within wonders or this gave Pagani the opportunity to save on production costs short and long term and from what you said how severe this was that it gave them the true genuine reason to make their move because they demand for the NH35 could or will hit them hard moving forward so much so because of the standard of expectations they set along with the diver watchers out there who simply will not buy a piece unless it has a NH35, 9015 or of SW 200 or and of course by far the 2824 and hacking playing such a major factor then name brand recognition or is so at seemingly here within and amongst the dive watchers here who will walk at all costs steer clear of anything other than the movements mentioned above but at the same time the world and times are undergoing changes that none of us during our lives have ever encountered before so its truly hard for me to get a read and even with the research I enjoy and my professional background being in part market analysis and market valuation, I am writing blindly and by what my gut insight feels rather than enough data extracted for me to see what the writing on the wall actually interprets to say and my words come out by the energy I feel and take in but I have always written that way but its so hard to stay with it long enough for my words can say with certainty.

    The aesthetic of this watch is really beautiful as it captures the Seamaster looks. However, the bracelet on this watch is bad. It doesn't articulate that well and is sharp on the underside of the milled clasp. Bezel action is bad like you stated. My PD-1667 also doesn't align at the 12 o clock position. Maybe QC control is not as good although I specifically asked them to make sure to send me a watch with aligned bezel. That is one thing I cannot unsee. The printing of the logo/branding, minute track is not crisp and needs a bit more paint. The lack of the AR coating is also a bummer as it could have made the textured dial "pop out". The lume also doesn't last well and is mediocre at best. There is also a stain on the rotor of my watch (can be easily fixed though). Unscrewing of the crown felt gritty/grinding. Winding is typical of any Seiko movement.
    That said, overall this watch is aesthetically pleasing. And they ticked a lot of boxes in the specs department (domed sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, etc.) But a lot of the cost cutting can be seen in the finishing/bezel action/bracelet/etc. and I understand that. This is a $130 watch after all. If you're buying this watch, buy it for the looks and get the model with the silicone strap.

    Excellent review! I got mine last week and have the rubber/nylon strap. Overall, I love it. 100% agree with you about the bezel and how it moves a little more than I would like.
    Out of curiosity, you said this was a great low-end tier homage. What would you consider a mid to higher tier homage? Besides obviously buying an actual Omega. 🤓

    • @watchreviews4k
      @watchreviews4k  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for watching Brian. Congratulations, they look lovely on the strap. Currently there isn't a mid-tier Seamaster homage I can recommend. Partly due to the popularity of the Steinhart Ocean One 39 ceramic being such a popular mid-tier Submariner Date homage. Steinhart dominate the Swiss mid-tier for homages, therefore it would be hard for another brand to make a SW200-1 powered Swiss made Seamaster homage for under 500 Euro to be competitive with the Ocean One 39. The other factor is Seamaster 300 Bond watches can be bought on eBay for 1500-2000 Euro. So collectors that like the Seamaster would prefer to buy an original Omega, rather than mid-tier homage. There just isn't the same demand for a mid-tier Seamaster homage as there is for a mid-tier Submariner Date homage. If the demand existed in the market for a Swiss made mid-tier Seamaster homage I think Steinhart would have made one. Regards.

    90 click unidirectional, not 120 like they advertise.

      Thank you for watching. This piece has a 120 click bezel. Regards.

      @@watchreviews4k Man, they really screwed me then, my lume pip is off center, bezel is only 90 click, bezel gets stuck around the 9 and 3 and requires quite a bit of elbow grease to rotate.

      @@thebreadwentstale Sorry to hear that. Early versions of the PD-1677 were 90 click, then they changed to 120. Unfortunately poor bezel action is common with both versions. Regards.

    Nice review, however your verdict is quite harsh IMO, you're asking too much for a $100 watch.

      Actually his verdict is just fair. I actually found more faults in the watch but that is just me. Even though I understand it's a $100 watch, as a watch reviewer @Watch Reviews 4K, should still point out the negatives. All in all, this watch is aesthetically pleasing and ticks the specs (domed sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel) but also did a lot of cost cutting to make it hit the $100 mark. I would have preferred they stick to mineral crystal and aluminum bezel then improved on the fit and finish of the watch. But that is my preference, other people have other preference. So that's that. But basically I believe the video was fair if not being a bit kind to the watch.

    Maybe try the watch in water to see if it's actually waterproof. It's Probably sapphire coated not sapphire glass or even synthetic sapphire .

      Thank you for watching Neil. Pagani Design use sapphire crystal in the front, and mineral crystal in the exhibition case back; in all their watches. The watches with exhibition case backs are tested to 100 metres water resistance. The watches with solid stainless steel case backs are tested to 200 metres. Therefore I do not need to "Maybe try the watch in water to see if it's actually waterproof". Regards, #WR4K
