Does your husband realise what a gem you you are - happy, positive , capable, practical and frugal! I was a hopeless young wife !! But I got better and learnt . You are inspiring. ❤
haha thanks ... honestly when we first got married beans on toast was pretty much my repertoire lol. Only since becoming a mum and wanting to stay at home with the kids I had to start getting creative!
I'm a kiwi who just moved to West Coast USA and the food prices here are double what we paid in NZ! So glad to have found this video. Really excited to try the crumpets (which we can't buy here) and the Greek yoghurt!
Way to go Sarah! I enjoy your down to earth way of cooking, especially involving the children. Takes me back to my own childhood with my Nan and also when I got my own children to help and learn.
Thanks!! I like that it's recording wee snippets of time with the kids while they're still shorter than me haha (ok I only have 2 out of 3 still shorter than me now lol!)
This is a treasure trove of ideas! I am especially a fan of minimal ingredient recipes, like your 2 ingredient dough, and the pineapple loaf. I'll definitely be trying both :)
I did this today with my whey. I made ricotta, which makes meatballs so soft, (with powdered milk) and used the whey for pizza bases and muffins. Need to make your Greek yoghurt recipe
Aah, that takes me back to the days of the GFC, when i was a single mum of 2 with a monthly food budget of $250! Those muffins (with a chopped up apple, and a teaspoon of cinnamon) must have been in almost every lunchbox. And i did the same with 2 minute noodles - just also added a tin of tomatoes, and a couple of boiled eggs (of course i also remember tomatoes were 40c back then, or even 20c when there was a really good special). These days we have 30 chooks and a whopping great vege garden out the back, and life is easier. Thank goodness. But i still remember :)
Oh I miss tomatoes being super cheap lol - we're working on getting some hydroponics set up so we can grow heaps and bottle myself - work in progress! Thanks for the comment 😀👍
I bought an yoghurt maker from the op shop and make yoghurt using that instead of the slow cooker , cheaper again , only cost is the milk , old yoghurt and boiling water
Any recipes I mention are linked in the description under the video (may have to press "more" in the grey area) 😊

i didnt realize cooking bread was so easy, do you use any oil or eggs? how long do you knead?
I hardly knead at all - only long enough to make sure the ingredients are well combined, and no I don't use any oil or eggs, it's super easy! :)
I bought an yoghurt maker from the op shop and make yoghurt using that instead of the slow cooker , cheaper again , only cost is the milk , old yoghurt and boiling water
Yep ditto, sounds like how I make it with the slow cooker 😊👍
