I usually never cook my pasta with the sauces due to overcooking them! I always cook them separately in a pot of water and then add to sauce. Of course this is personal preference, but a tip for those who run into the same issue

I love it! You always do so good! But I have been saving sooo much money and paying the 4 more dollars for the great big Mexican bullion. It lasts at least 3 wks usually longer, just depends on dinners. I get the beef, chicken and tomato with chicken. I use them all the time, I always use them when cooking the meat. Best find ever!!! I've used that canned Hunt's pasta sauce for years. It's the same size as the jarred ones for about 40% less. Touch up the seasonings a bit, if you wish, and it tastes just as good.

That ham and bean soup looks luscious and perfect for this time of year! Before I retired I stocked my pantry with staple items, and lots of different kinds of beans and legumes. I think I'm going to combine a bunch of them into bean mixes for soups. I love to can beans for quick meals, so I may can some as well. I also buy potatoes in bulk, cube them, and can them. So easy to throw together a soup. Your videos always get me motivated when I find myself in a "what's for dinner" rut.

i cannot recommend Julia’s cookbook more! if you are an experienced cook or if you are wanting to learn how to make really good food for the first time in your life, there is something for everyone. The kewl thing about the soupy, liquidy, saucy dishes is you can skip the bullion and freeze in containers. When ready, you can add the frozen food to a pot with broth or bullion and water to stretch it a bit further and even add on top of rice, noodles or etc like a "fancy" sauce.

I made the Goulash tonight and it was delish. I always tend to make a little more, feeding 5 (2 being teenagers) so I used 1lb sausage, then cooked the other half lb of pasta separate. I cooked everything else to recipe, then added extra cook pasta at the end. My family loved it and there’s leftover for husbands lunch at work tomorrow. Even with doubling the sausage and the noodles, this is still a very affordable and a yummy, filling meal. The recipe went straight to the “keep always” recipe index card box! My daughter is 18 in a few months so when she goes out on her own this will be a recipe I send with her. Thanks a bunch!

We add canned rinsed and drained mushrooms that we chop up. We add monterey jack and extra sharp cheese. Also, add salsa. I bake the eggs by themselves first at 400 to 405 degrees up to a soft set. Perhaps 15 to 20 minutes. I remove the eggs from the oven, adding all of the remaining ingredients like you did and the additional items I mentioned above. Back into the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes. Until the cheese is fully melted and has a little Browning to it.
I usually used the plainer bean soup, but tried cajun recently, and it is AMAZING! We usually cut a smoked sausage to add and bake up some Jiffy corn bread. Since theres just 2 of us, any extra gets frozen for an excellent easy meal later.
I bought 3 cookbooks for my kids I really enjoy your videos and I know my kids will love the cookbooks. I really appreciate that each recipe has a picture as I have visual learners in my family. You eat with your eyes first! Thanks!

Watching you make goulash brought back some wonderful childhood memories for me. My mother made a large cast iron skillet full of goulash at least twice a month. I had two brothers, so we needed meals that would fill them up! I remember watching her add the tiny, dry macaroni pasta, and being amazed at how they puffed up and became DINNER!! Now I will be making this for our family too!

Update: made the goulash and it was a hit! I changed two things - I used a whole pound of sausage and I used a transponder hole 12 oz. if mixed veggies. I wasn't actually sure what size bag you used in your recipes, but anyway, that's what I did, mainly because I didn't know what to do with only a half pound of sausage after I used the first half. Also, my son eats a LOT of food and he wanted me to use the whole tube of sausage. Anyway, it worked out, thanks for the recipe ❤ How many adults do these recipes feed? It's just my husband, my son, and me, but my son eats double what my husband or I eat, so I count him as 2 people :D I love your videos because they're so easy to follow and you don't make us watch you cut up all your vegetables :) I will be making the goulash for dinner tonight and the breakfast casserole this weekend for breakfast

for Goulash try using tomato puree and beef stock instead of tomato/spaghetti sauce. Add your tomato paste closer to the end to thicken it up as needed. Also lots of onions (about two or three Giant onions) and paprika (2.5 tablespoons). Onions and paprika is what makes Goulash taste like Goulash. Also some beef bullion cubes or better than bullion and maggi seasoning to taste. That probably takes it over the $5 budget but usually when i make Goulash I make 6-8 quarts of the Goulash plus Spätzle. its probably 25-30 dollars all in because i use about 3lbs cubed steak ( cheap cuts) Kinda expensive to cook but per severing it is not bad at all!
I’ve actually been halving and sometimes quartering these recipes and we are so appreciative! Money savings is so important and so far these recipes are so good and versatile! I’m actually going to make this ham and bean soup now and have the new potatoes in this one!

I've been making a lot of goulash lately. Instead of a half box of elbows I've been using a box of mac and cheese. When the stew is finished cooking add in the cheese packet, either as is or with the milk and butter. Adds maybe $.15 to the price but makes a huge difference in flavor.

Learning to use a pressure canner can save you money and time. I garden and grow and can my own potatoes. One could buy potatoes and can them if your unable to garden. Its so handy to open a jar on a busy day. I also can meats, homemade stews and chili, tomato based sauces and salsa. Its easy to learn. Lots of info online these days. I learned from watching my mom when I was a girl.

Instead of spending the extra on pasta sauce I just use a can of tomato sauce and add Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder to taste. We like ours tangy but if you prefer it a bit sweeter like the pasta sauce just add a teaspoon or 2 of sugar. So much cheaper and you can season it to your own personal taste.

I love it! You always do so good! But I have been saving sooo much money and paying the 4 more dollars for the great big Mexican bullion. It lasts at least 3 wks usually longer, just depends on dinners. I get the beef, chicken and tomato with chicken. I use them all the time, I always use them when cooking the meat. Best find ever!!! I've used that canned Hunt's pasta sauce for years. It's the same size as the jarred ones for about 40% less. Touch up the seasonings a bit, if you wish, and it tastes just as good.

That ham and bean soup looks luscious and perfect for this time of year! Before I retired I stocked my pantry with staple items, and lots of different kinds of beans and legumes. I think I'm going to combine a bunch of them into bean mixes for soups. I love to can beans for quick meals, so I may can some as well. I also buy potatoes in bulk, cube them, and can them. So easy to throw together a soup. Your videos always get me motivated when I find myself in a "what's for dinner" rut.

i cannot recommend Julia’s cookbook more! if you are an experienced cook or if you are wanting to learn how to make really good food for the first time in your life, there is something for everyone. The kewl thing about the soupy, liquidy, saucy dishes is you can skip the bullion and freeze in containers. When ready, you can add the frozen food to a pot with broth or bullion and water to stretch it a bit further and even add on top of rice, noodles or etc like a "fancy" sauce.

I made the Goulash tonight and it was delish. I always tend to make a little more, feeding 5 (2 being teenagers) so I used 1lb sausage, then cooked the other half lb of pasta separate. I cooked everything else to recipe, then added extra cook pasta at the end. My family loved it and there’s leftover for husbands lunch at work tomorrow. Even with doubling the sausage and the noodles, this is still a very affordable and a yummy, filling meal. The recipe went straight to the “keep always” recipe index card box! My daughter is 18 in a few months so when she goes out on her own this will be a recipe I send with her. Thanks a bunch!

We add canned rinsed and drained mushrooms that we chop up. We add monterey jack and extra sharp cheese. Also, add salsa. I bake the eggs by themselves first at 400 to 405 degrees up to a soft set. Perhaps 15 to 20 minutes. I remove the eggs from the oven, adding all of the remaining ingredients like you did and the additional items I mentioned above. Back into the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes. Until the cheese is fully melted and has a little Browning to it.

I usually used the plainer bean soup, but tried cajun recently, and it is AMAZING! We usually cut a smoked sausage to add and bake up some Jiffy corn bread. Since theres just 2 of us, any extra gets frozen for an excellent easy meal later.

Watching you make goulash brought back some wonderful childhood memories for me. My mother made a large cast iron skillet full of goulash at least twice a month. I had two brothers, so we needed meals that would fill them up! I remember watching her add the tiny, dry macaroni pasta, and being amazed at how they puffed up and became DINNER!! Now I will be making this for our family too!
I felt the same ghoulash was a family staple growing up and I still love it😊❤

Update: made the goulash and it was a hit! I changed two things - I used a whole pound of sausage and I used a transponder hole 12 oz. if mixed veggies. I wasn't actually sure what size bag you used in your recipes, but anyway, that's what I did, mainly because I didn't know what to do with only a half pound of sausage after I used the first half. Also, my son eats a LOT of food and he wanted me to use the whole tube of sausage. Anyway, it worked out, thanks for the recipe ❤
How many adults do these recipes feed? It's just my husband, my son, and me, but my son eats double what my husband or I eat, so I count him as 2 people :D I love your videos because they're so easy to follow and you don't make us watch you cut up all your vegetables :) I will be making the goulash for dinner tonight and the breakfast casserole this weekend for breakfast

for Goulash try using tomato puree and beef stock instead of tomato/spaghetti sauce. Add your tomato paste closer to the end to thicken it up as needed. Also lots of onions (about two or three Giant onions) and paprika (2.5 tablespoons). Onions and paprika is what makes Goulash taste like Goulash. Also some beef bullion cubes or better than bullion and maggi seasoning to taste.
That probably takes it over the $5 budget but usually when i make Goulash I make 6-8 quarts of the Goulash plus Spätzle. its probably 25-30 dollars all in because i use about 3lbs cubed steak ( cheap cuts) Kinda expensive to cook but per severing it is not bad at all!

I've been making a lot of goulash lately. Instead of a half box of elbows I've been using a box of mac and cheese. When the stew is finished cooking add in the cheese packet, either as is or with the milk and butter. Adds maybe $.15 to the price but makes a huge difference in flavor.

Learning to use a pressure canner can save you money and time. I garden and grow and can my own potatoes. One could buy potatoes and can them if your unable to garden. Its so handy to open a jar on a busy day. I also can meats, homemade stews and chili, tomato based sauces and salsa. Its easy to learn. Lots of info online these days. I learned from watching my mom when I was a girl.

Instead of spending the extra on pasta sauce I just use a can of tomato sauce and add Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder to taste. We like ours tangy but if you prefer it a bit sweeter like the pasta sauce just add a teaspoon or 2 of sugar. So much cheaper and you can season it to your own personal taste.

I don't use potatoes as much as some people do. I usually buy a small bag and still end up with a few that end up going bad, but CANNED potatoes!!? Never noticed, nor have I ever thought of it 😂 I just Love your life saver ideas ;))

For any kind of tomato sauce. I just use canned gv tomato sauce and add the spices to make it the right sauce. Tastes the same to me.
