A lot of interpretations seem to forget that he's a psychopomp, guiding the souls of the dead to the afterlife. It's a pleasant surprise to see him depicted doing that job.

@@mr.monsoon1719 What about Thanatos or Hades. Thanatos is literally death, so he has to go around reaping souls when theyit time comes, and then Hades has to manage them.
@@HighLordoftheBathroom if I remember correctly, thanatos was the personification of death, as such he existed to maintain the cycle of life and death. When he was chained and locked away, people just couldn't die. Hermes acted as a psycopaump, he guided the dead to the afterlife, but other than that he had no real relation to the underworld. He was a messenger, not a reaper. Hades was an arbiter, he simply judged peoples souls, and placed them in the Greek equivalent of heaven, hell, and limbo.
@@poly.fcracka9362 Thanatos is a Primordial, and if I remember correctly the Primordials aren't beings that could control a certain aspect of life, they were that aspect given personification. Thanatos isn't a being given an aspect of the universe to control, a reaper, or a phsycopomp he literally is Death. He's the action of death itself. That's why I say he is busy. It's the reason people didn't die when Sisyphus locked him up, he isn't a being that controlled death, he IS Death.

I can definitely see why he's the first ever speed force user in DC Comics. This show showed a great visualization of his powers.
His speed doesn’t come from the speedforce though, he’s literally the god of it. If anything I think the speedforce copied him to make speedsters.

American superheroes are the copies of the Greek Gods. Superman is Zeus, Aquaman/Poseidon, Flash/Hermes, Wonder Woman/Athena, Artemis (called Diana by Romans), Batman/Hades. The same for the Marvel.

I swear characters with super speed only exist for the bad guy top pull that one move where they grab them mid-fight, demonstrating how skilled they are.
It’s the only way that they could “realistically” beat a speedster, super speed is incredibly underrated and overpowered that if you analyse most fights one has with someone who doesn’t have super speed that it probably won’t make sense.
Gorgeous illustrations of Hermès, all the characters really; but Hermès is my absolute favorite. Hoping for more seasons to come.

I love the detail of when Hermes is coming at Ares and Ares lowers his gaze to see him coming towards him. THIS is why I fucking LOVE anime.
This isn’t an anime, and how is this in anyway exclusive to anime? Characters trying to predict the movement of their enemies is extremely common, especially with speedsters because there’s not really any other way to beat them.

He does have some level of superhuman strength like all the others Gods as well. It’s just not his primary power since they want to depict him as the messenger God of speed. For him to survive battling with Ares and take hit let alone damage him you have to have superhuman strength. But I love him in this being that I’m a Gemini and Mercury is my planet symbol. Which is the patron God Hermès.

More than being a speedster I’m proud they depicted him as the grim reaper of Greek mythology as he’s the one who guides souls to Hades

He’s not the grim reaper, that would be Thanatos the physical manifestation of death itself.
Hermes lead souls to the underworld but he wasn’t the only person to do so.
Hermes is actually the god of travel. And a bunch of other stuff. But never heard him being called the god of speed.

You missed one, but it is for people that know much on Hermes. Even some Greeks miss this, so here it is. Even in English, you say hermetically sealed. Sealed by Hermes. If Hermes was commanded to seal something, only he could open it. So the soul container was hermetically sealed and that is why Hera got Herme's bracer. It was the ONLY key to open and close it. Hermetically sealed in Greek is written ΕΡΜΗΤΙΚΑ ΚΛΕΙΣΤΟ meaning it is closed, the same way Hermes would seal something. These guys knew what they were doing making this anime. I got only two objections. Hades is not evil and Olympians are supposed to be immortals. But they might fix that on a future season, I put my trust to them.

How many other versions of him are there? Although he’s an Olympian he’s usually a side character that doesn’t get much time to develop.
Although if I were to give my picks for him I’d go with the Percy Jackson version or Disney Hercules version.

I wish that in the second season, they would highlight or emphasize the other gods. I love the series but I am a bit disappointed by the fact that they didn't emphasize the other gods, their full abilities and interactions. It is kind of cliche that they are always emphasizing about Zeus's storyline. Who has the same thought as me?. And also they should've displayed more of their powers and highlighted those as well. I love that

Есть подземный мир, где главная Гея, хотя она там вообще вроде нигде и никак, но, как не странно, "административного ресурса" у нее вполне хватает даже богами Олимпа иногда командовать (Троянская война, к примеру. Гея заказала ее организацию, потому, что: "Много людей развелось! Тяжко мне, давят!"). А, допустим, к западу от Атлантики - вообще какая-то " Терра Инкогнита" вообще не понятно чего происходит (кроме того, что туда часто титанов высылали).

Why specifically directed by Zack Snyder? Don’t get me wrong he’s great at cinematography but based on the movies he’s directed he doesn’t really seem like the most fitting person for it.
