Threaded to non threaded pipe fitting to thread into the tank.

Great way to fill the tank without going through the entire system.

I’ve used a rag with one end placed in the drain hole and into the remaining water in an attempt to wick out the remaining water that sits below the rim of the drain. It worked to get more out than draining alone.

Thank you Alan. I will have to try that rag Technique.

I've never used vinegar solution to clean my water heater. Have seen other Tubers do it though. I will sometimes pull the anode rod and flush the tank a c ouple to a few times in a season. It doesn't freeze where I am so I can leave the tank filled. If the rig has sat for a few months without use, I will flush it with the wand. There's always a lot of sediment and junk in there.

It is good to not live in Freezing temp areas👍 You are so right, it is really surprising how fast and must sediment builds up in that tank.
      Thank you for the comment.

    Excellent educational vid! Thank you!
    I thought I sent a comment earlier - but, apparently it didn’t!!!
    1. Do you leave safety valve open when adding and emptying solution?
    2. After adding solution to water heater, do you heat the water for some period of time?
    3. After emptying solution, do you chase by flush with clear water?

      DR S, great questions.
1- Yes I opened the relief valve during the whole process.
2- Let the solution sit for 24 hours NO heat.
3 Yes you will do a general flush of the tank with clean water.
This will be like cleaning a glass coffee pot so you will be letting the solution do the work for you. I hope this helps.
