When I first got my own set and was impressed by how amazing they are for the price I was hoping Ashens would get his hands on them. If anyone could appreciate these it's him and this video didn't not disappoint!
I'm starting to think that Hasbro's focus is WAY too broad to allow any form of 'quality' to be present in their products. Just look at the 'Soccer Mom Leia' figure that Ashens showed off

As someone who works at a Dollar Tree, I can tell you that these have about 70x the amount of effort that anything else in the toy aisle has. They're actually fucking awesome!

Man! When i went to the dollar store as a kid the best you could hope for was some proprietary sized ninja figure that broke into razor sharp shards in .1 femtoseconds after prying it from it’s cardboard, which in and of itself was struggle due to the 200 twisty ties that binded the two!

Their advertising is so bad that when I saw these in store I assumed these were unsold overstock from another store and not Dollar Tree original. It didn't help that they only had two different figs.
Its probably the best way for kids to start an army builder, which is something I, and many other kids couldn’t do. With the villains being only a little over a dollar, they can get a couple to really add the play value.

As said it's different all over, some place don't even have sales taxes. Some places charge sales tax, but not on food. Others have sales tax on everything including food.

@@spencers4121 Indiana has 7% on almost everything, except for most types of food. Junk food and Fast food does have Sales Tax but if a junk food item has enough nutritional value or enough of certain ingredients it will not be taxed. Kit-Kats and Twizzlers are not taxed for example.

Only Ashens can keep me riveted to the screen for 41 minutes. Also, besides getting the figures you're getting a back story for the characters and their war. That alone is worth tons.

I bought two of each of the villains a few months back and they look pretty great next to some Star Trek figures. The arms popping out caught me off guard but I like how a kid could create his own alien creature if he wanted to.
Just picked up the whole line today, felt great to spend less than 12 bucks on the whole line. It's also nice to go into a store and find the figures on the pegs.
Also, you can find those The CORPS figures at Walmart here in the US, or at least used to, still might be able to now. I know they used to turn up around Christmas with a shitload of huge vehicles and playsets.
The vehicle sets were mostly awesome. I think one was a little iffy. However, that multipack of figures, I don't remember that at Walmart. Figure 2-packs, yes, but more than that, I'm not sure...
Figure collectors sometimes do something called "army building", which is when you purchase more than one of a figure (typically one that represents a generic soldier or the like) in order to, well, build an army of them, and these guys seem like an absolutely perfect fit for that - they're cheap but not so crappily made that they'll stick out when you put them next to something nicer. Head down to the Dollar Tree with a tenner and blam, you've got a whole platoon ready to get slaughtered by Megatron or Godzilla or somebody. What a value!

I've seen some of these at my local Dollar Tree in Tacoma. I wanted to buy the Shift figure, but just haven't yet. I didn't realize the creators were doing a cartoon as well. I wish Cheetahmen had this much success.
Wave 2 just came out for Final Faction at the Dollar Tree. 1 Human, 1 Alien, a Dog shaped combat suit piloted with a dog, and a Vehicle (think a dune buggy.) All 1 buck, well, for now, Dollar Tree announced that it would be going to $1.25 recently because a buck doesn't buy what it did 30 years ago when they opened.
Just chiming in to say we got my son a big castle playset (Little Tikes Kingdom Builders) and when I needed a bunch of figures to play inside it, my first thought was this video from 3 and a half years ago. I had a great time going from store to store in my Area trying to find as many different guys as I could. I'm glad they are still somewhat available. They're awesome! Thanks Stu

Saw the monster designs a few weeks ago in there. Looked actually to have some level of quality. Honestly thought it was some reject mobile app game toy line or something.
They can hold their own weapons and the eyes are roughly in the right spot. As far as cheap action figures go this is luxurious.

American sales taxes tend to be under 10%. It's 7% here in Indiana, so those figures would be $1.07 each. I math good.
Here in Florida most food and medicine isn’t taxed, and state and local taxes come to 6.0 to 7.0% on other things, typically. 6.5% where I live.
5-7% seems to be the norm.

Yeah. The Drones as your standard cannon fodder enemies all over the place, Brutes as the heavy guys you need to try and skirt behind, and Synthoids as the level bosses. Someone should make this.
Yeah, especially with the stats and the descriptions of weapons and such. This kind of has a squad based shooter feel behind it. Like watching when he showed and read out Ruck's deal I was like "well, there's my character."

There's bits of a lot of video games mashed together with GI-Joe in these. Halo and XCOM 2 in particular stand out as potential sources of design elements.
I'm always glad to see actually decent toys from dollar stores. I mostly think that it gives less fortunate kids a chance to have some good toys. Also, I kinda want to buy the aliens...

As said it's different all over, some place don't even have sales taxes. Some places charge sales tax, but not on food. Others have sales tax on everything including food.
cause higher taxes for public health care, good public transport, time off work for child care and sick leave as such is so awful. especially when that tax load is mostly dumped on the rich who got more money than sense... so awful.
@@spencers4121 Indiana has 7% on almost everything, except for most types of food. Junk food and Fast food does have Sales Tax but if a junk food item has enough nutritional value or enough of certain ingredients it will not be taxed. Kit-Kats and Twizzlers are not taxed for example.

Every Dollar Tree is different and many figures you could find at one, you won’t find at others. I’m obsessed with Dollar Tree. 7.5% sales tax where I live.
Some get every General Mills cereal that fails test-marketing or otherwise doesn’t sell. Box sizes range from under 10 ounces to 24 or more, expiration dates a few months in the future, and of course they’re $1. I buy them to give away. I don’t know if people will be happy to get 24 ounces of Fruity Lucky Charms...

I think now is the time for the Ashens fan community to start a Final Faction fan site and fanfic hub. That’ll make the execs at Dollar Tree either really excited or very confused.

I bought two of each of the villains a few months back and they look pretty great next to some Star Trek figures. The arms popping out caught me off guard but I like how a kid could create his own alien creature if he wanted to.

Ashens! Look for Star Troopers Giant Bug Battle figures from Lanard. Smythe's is one of the only places I've seen has them in stock.
Just picked up the whole line today, felt great to spend less than 12 bucks on the whole line. It's also nice to go into a store and find the figures on the pegs.
In my state there is no sales tax, its super nice and it confuses me that other states dont include it in the price.
The 2 hand guns are obviously a homage to Dante's Ebony and Ivory. I love this line!
Also, you can find those The CORPS figures at Walmart here in the US, or at least used to, still might be able to now. I know they used to turn up around Christmas with a shitload of huge vehicles and playsets.
The vehicle sets were mostly awesome. I think one was a little iffy. However, that multipack of figures, I don't remember that at Walmart. Figure 2-packs, yes, but more than that, I'm not sure...
In the U.S. Army "specialist" (SPC) is a rank. Just under Corporal (CPL) and Sergeant (SGT).
I bought this whole set, thinking of Ashens the entire time.
Figure collectors sometimes do something called "army building", which is when you purchase more than one of a figure (typically one that represents a generic soldier or the like) in order to, well, build an army of them, and these guys seem like an absolutely perfect fit for that - they're cheap but not so crappily made that they'll stick out when you put them next to something nicer. Head down to the Dollar Tree with a tenner and blam, you've got a whole platoon ready to get slaughtered by Megatron or Godzilla or somebody. What a value!

I've seen some of these at my local Dollar Tree in Tacoma. I wanted to buy the Shift figure, but just haven't yet. I didn't realize the creators were doing a cartoon as well. I wish Cheetahmen had this much success.
Wave 2 just came out for Final Faction at the Dollar Tree. 1 Human, 1 Alien, a Dog shaped combat suit piloted with a dog, and a Vehicle (think a dune buggy.) All 1 buck, well, for now, Dollar Tree announced that it would be going to $1.25 recently because a buck doesn't buy what it did 30 years ago when they opened.
They are still a good deal for a buck and a quarter. Got a few of them and they are fun to customize and repaint

Just chiming in to say we got my son a big castle playset (Little Tikes Kingdom Builders) and when I needed a bunch of figures to play inside it, my first thought was this video from 3 and a half years ago. I had a great time going from store to store in my Area trying to find as many different guys as I could. I'm glad they are still somewhat available. They're awesome! Thanks Stu

Bars was a little bit kinda why they switched formats. It seems pretty clear he's not exactly, uh, a Cheapskate himself, and would definitely probably cut off any, say, Off Brand Brand Off that may arise, for instance.
