Ice blue pansies have always been one of my favorites. Very pretty arrangement. Ive always been really unsure about big planters regarding depth to plant at and spacings. I know if there is too much soil it can get waterlogged. I guess part of the trick is to gave some of the plants with more matured root systems that take up a good amount of soil?
For larger deck pots, I definitely use larger plants to start with especially in the fall when plants slow down their growth rate preparing for winter. In the spring, when plants are growing faster I use smaller containers.
