    Thanks for helping with the background as I do a lot of pet portraits and wanted to know more about doing backgrounds. Thanks for sharing

      You are so welcome Darlene, my advice would be to keep them defused/ mottled, so they down take the viewer's eyes away from the main subject. 😀

    The tips are wonderful, but I also like watching you just paint and talk, it's really enjoyable! Thank you & have a happy Christmas!

    Love this you make it look so easy! Wondering though, to use such a background for like a deer painting do you draw the deer then mask it out then do the background? Then remove masking fluid and paint the deer right? Wish you would paint something on this background as an example. Thanks again I love your paintings!

      Hi Carol, yes, that's precisely how I do it. Draw the Deer outline, add masking fluid just inside the outline 'about an inch', then paint the background, removing the fluid after the background has dried naturally. 😊 Here is one of my older videos that may help bit.ly/3yqvCJn Paul 😊

    Do you stretch your watercolour paper or do you use a special paper.

      Hi Angie, I used to stretch my own watercolour paper, but sadly due to the lack of time with the tutorials I film, I no longer do this. I use a 'block pad', so all the sheets are glued together all the way around the edges, with one little gap to be able to slide a palette knife into for removing a sheet. Here is a video I have on here for using a block pad of watercolour paper. th-cam.com/video/ShSWL8T9Wn0/w-d-xo.html

    Could you please do something on the tape that we used to make lines and things. I am using an artist Tape but it leaks and it ruins my paintings

      A good point Artsie2, I will see what I can come up with. Paul 😀

    Can you help me with colours with tree and sky

    • @TheDevonArtist
      @TheDevonArtist  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Desmond, I'm more of a wildlife painter than landscapes, but I'm sure they are many other tutorials here on TH-cam that can help, so certainly worth a search. 😊
