Airwindows is really a game changer to me. The plugins REALLY make heavy work with little resources. Channel strips, filters, distortion, verbs, delays, tape stuff, his consoles, dynamic controllers(compressors and stuff), it's all top notch, I'm having the time of my life making music with them, it's been pretty much Airwindows and MeldaProduction for me (altho AO is nice as well)
I guess everyone already knows about Tokyo Dawn Labs (since they're RARELY in any of the free plugin videos), but I use their free plugins on pretty much every project I do.
I've seen them in a heap of free plugin vids & lists. I'm assuming the reason they're not in this vid is because it's specifically for "underrated" (ie. lesser known) plugins.
@@godfreyozzy7128 I am stunned how powerful a plugin like Surge is. If manage to make some coin using this vst Id give some coin to the developers and I am inclined to try. Cameron, I was first turned onto your channel via some of the PSP plugins. The thing I've always enjoyed about your channel is that you're continually highlighting the fact that creativity is paramount. People wanting to do music are constantly getting caught up in the latest and greatest technology, and I get it, we all geek out on that stuff, but there is so much at our disposal these days it's insane. Thanks for the plugin tips, big fan of Air Windows and Analog Obsession, great plugins! Glad to see the channel continuing to grow!
I was washing dishes and completely engrossed in your reverb demo. It was incredibly peaceful until 10:20 made me drop the mug I was rinsing!🤣 You remind me of Alton Brown if he were a music and sound nerd.
Airwindows plugins are superb, as some who grew up in the 70s and 80s and has used tape and analogue outboard consistently, I really don't feel anyone need look much further than Airwindows, especially if tone and saturation are important to the user. To Tape - Tape emulation. BussColors - Neve, SSL, API saturation. CStrip - Channel strip, with ultra-musical filters. Mackity - Mackie gain drive. Iron oxide classic - Tape emulation. MatrixVerb - Alesis style reverb. PyeWacket - Pye compressor approximation. ClipOnly - no more clipping. Capacitor - High pass/Low pass. Don't be put of by the lack of a fancy, realistic GUI, - instead just focus on the sound these plugins produce... love to ALL, feel no hate
As someone who also grew up in the 80s, a plain stock DAW is enough to blow my mind! The results of most plugins are relatively easy to replicate with stock tools. The value I find in plugins is complexity reduction (should be difficult to replicate) and PRESETS. I feel like the last one gets skipped over too often. How are you getting that vocal tone without talking directly into a mic and no room noise? Voiceover? Amazing. Also great speaking voice.
Can you please provide a link to Chris's (Surge) videos. I can't find him. Thanks.

Thanks in advance. Love the channel.
Here to just show some love for the creator of Surge ❤️❤️❤️
So glad I found this channel!

Top notch intro, Cameron :)
Glad the amount of time that goes into these things doesn't go unappreciated haha.
