With due respect to Guruprasad's intellect, I feel that the ideas expressed by him and examples quoted by him look childish. Even if the god is created by human beings, he/she serves as cheapest policeman and psychiatrist. When society is not God fearing/believing any more, you need more policemen and psychiatrists. God never appreciates people going to him with problems that they can find solutions by themselves, for example visiting infertility specialist for fertility issues, visiting Dermatologist for itching etc.
Scientific advancement is the most wonderful thing that has happened to mankind. However, where the science ends, the faith will take over.
