It's cuz the melody is in triplet. Most pirate songs are in triplet. For example, Hans zimmer's pirates of the Caribbean theme
Where do people learn all of this. I mean, I am a self taught graphic designer and fully understand Photoshop, CorelDraw, Illustrator, InDesign and even the basics of Premiere Pro.
When I open FL and look up some beginner tutorials It all looks like fucking Chinese to me. There is just so many extensions and what seems like a million ways to create the same sound. Does the software actually have to be that complicated? or does half of it just go unused most of the time?

Reyne Twitch ahahah thats normal. I think that everyone started the same way, at first trying to make a drum loop with the default kick, clap, hat and snare, then check the flstudio Vsts, then automations, then the basics of the genre you like, then "buy" sylenth or massive or serum or whatever, then lose the best projects when fl studio crashes, and finaly mixing and mastering. So it might seem a little confuse but its just a metter of time ;)

you can go to the mixer and use fruity love filter and theres a knob called cutoff and its already in lowpass mode so you put it up and right click it and click create automation and yeah thats it

Hey guys I have a question; so I recently got fl 12 producer edition. So I go to look up tutorials mostly on how to make things like drop synths, and everyone is using sylenth1. When I go to look for sylenth1, I come up with nothing, so I check image-line.com to see if it didn't download it or something, and literally nothing comes up for sylenth1. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what is going on? Thx

I noticed you leave your volumes really high while creating your tracks. When you mix down do you lower your volume settings to prepare for the master?

EDMmusic Not good idea, that would mean that you faild to handle the volums of your sounds.

Clearly you aren't familiar with big room, because that is a typical big room lead. In fact the lead he used was actually designed by one of the most famous big room producers , Hardwell.

5olace Just because someone can't tell something is off key immediately doesn't mean they should stop producing. It takes practice, obviously.
I really don't like the sound of that distorted guitar thing. The basic melody was great, but everything else was off key, too loud, or just a bad sound
So at the end of the vid, the instruments sound good, but the measure ending just ruins it for me, and the sudden switch to a buildup that sounds nothing like the rest of the song ruins it (imo). And the drop sounds nothing like the rest of it and just sounds extremely off.

If you click the down arrow in the upper left corner of the piano roll, and click helpers > Scale highlighting you can set it so you don't need to do that first step.
