The 991 a, is a challenge for sure, but in a primitive bare bones framework to do everything, kind of way. All those capabilities take up decision making time, AND there are a lot of settings “en todo”.. So it appears to be presenting quite a learning curve for me. My hope is for this radio to be mobile on top of a high place on a hill, to test performance.
Yea, I had purchased the 991A a few days back. I didn't like the user interface and non-touch functionality like on my FT-710. Sent it back to DX Engineering!
There is no question the 7610 is better in all aspects to the 991. However, depending on how you operate, the 7610 is just plain overkill. I just sold my 7610 after 6 years because all I do is FT8 and pretty much any rig can work that mode. Like my 991A. Although if I can find a C4FM HT at a reasonable price my 991A might get sold as well.
I wish I bought 991a hate stacking radios got a dx10 and its too many gimmicks only thing i would want is monitor port on 991a I don't think it has one. When you consider a yeasu 857 went for 2k on ebay it's definitely the most radio for the money.

Need learn first
If they come out with a all mode all band with dx10 interface it's going to be 2k or just under.
Yee

Okare there vents on top ?
Those front slots across the top panel to allow air flow
