- Michael Myers never dies. Less than a year after part four, Halloween 5 hit theater screens. After seeing it, many fans felt that the film was rushed into production and didn't make much sense. They would be right. Part 5 would end up being the lowest-grossing film in the entire franchise. Even still up to when this video is released. What happened to this film that caused it to be the black sheep of the franchise? Let's find out on this episode of WTF Happened To This Horror Movie?

SERIES SYNOPSIS: Hollywood has had its fair share of historically troubled productions. Whether it was casting changes, actor deaths, fired directors, in-production rewrites, constant delays, budget cuts or studio edits, these films had every intention to be a blockbuster but were beset with unforeseen disasters. Sometimes huge hits, sometimes box office bombs. Either way, we have to ask: WTF Happened To This Horror Movie?

Danielle Harris herself even has said that she wasn't wild about Halloween 5, she was hoping that she was going to be going around with Michael killing people and was disappointed that she wasn't. She even said that another graphic scene removed from the film was her leg getting stabbed in the laundry chute at the Myers House. That's why she was seen limping out with blood running down her leg in the final cut of the movie. Even Michael Myers actor, Don Shanks said that he had a HUGE killing spree scene outside of the Children's clinic with the cops that was cut out of the film, he said that it was pretty graphic and he said Myers looked like a wrecking machine going through the cops
Emm, wasn't she a kid??? I mean I bet if that story is true , she's lying. She was a freaking kid. Was she even 16?🤣
Harris was better in Last Boy Scout
Y'all cause y'all dummies was there y'all know everything ughh gotta love trolls of the internet
It would be nice if Hollywood actually gave fans what they want instead of what studio executives want. They'd actually make more money, with the extra gore and horror hype.
Yet in interviews she’s said she had more fun making 5 than 4 because after 4 was a success it made her confident while later doing 5.
Funny how even decades later, studios haven't learned that making movies without a plan doesn't end well
Not sure what movie you're talking about. 5 was just about the greatest movie of its' kind ever made....with or without a 'plan'....
@@tgriffin3059 🤣😂😅
@@SlimPug Feel free to make a contribution to the discussion....assuming you can...
Are we not going to address the wacky sound effects when they introduce the two cops? Nothing took me out of a movie faster than that.
that really is one of the worst things about this movie along with the Sabrina The Teenage Witch looking Myers house
Ikr. They should only play that when Biden walks in a room.
They played that sound with bulk and skull in mighty morphing power rangers
I totally agree!!!!
It's absurd 😆
The fact that Rachel was killed off in Halloween 5 is what I hated the most.
And so early in the movie too a character like hers they could’ve at least killed her off near the climax, basically where Tina died.
Me too! F***!
Don't worry. She not REALLY dead. I got proof.
Indeed-this movie is terrible
Not a fan of the Myers Masks in 4 and 5, however, I can appreciate the fact that they did something different. For me, Donald Pleasance (Rest his Soul) was the driving force in this Thorn time-line.
I like Halloween 4 mask and there's some scenes in it he looks scary and badass. Halloween Kills and Ends masks overrated
They need to bring the Thorn stuff back!
@@robertpreston2220 especially with Michael being “dead”now
@@jtv3881 he is dead yet again lol
The one with the handsome Paul rudd was ass
At the time, it was kind of cool to see how he Michael had survived and contiuened on the story. If they didn't do the Thorn aspect and kept Jamie as a serial killer in training then the series could have grown past Michael possibly. At this point, we will never truly know.
Jamie you mean,Rachel was her sister
@@Jacobthewrestlingfan my bad, sorry bout that. Thanks for letting me know.
@@smcveen its cool,It would of been a nice alternative of Michael
It's kind of a Bride Of Frankenstein segment...the mask was horrible.but better than 6,that thorn element was not a good plot
We'll never know with that trilogy anyway ... who knows what the future holds though, as Michael is never really dead in these movies ...
Dr Loomis channeled his inner psycho in this movie.
Donald Plesance has said he did not like what they did with his character
@@garydizzine Many of his comments were made while trying to grovel for the makers of 6, because he knew they didn't want him back. Very sad way for him to end his career.
so much love for this classic horror franchise, always up for a new video about it
Source?
it’s a guilty pleasure for me to be honest. it’s one i look forward to most when i rewatch the series, but it was also one of the first ones i saw (4, 5, and H20 on AMC) and i have a love for all of them but especially the laundry chute scene in 5
They aren't bad at all though
Yup
Exactly, the terror and claustrophobia of that laundry chute was one of the best moments of this franchise. MM isn't a very creative killer like Jason or Freddy so it was fun to see that scene.
@@vegetalover9297 5 is just awful.
@@doc8013 No, it's actually quite brilliant. Othenin-Girard was the one director who seemed to understand what made the '78 original work.
It was disappointing even though I was glad they continued the Halloween 4 story. It also has some great moments.
@@greenkoopa the ghost horse lol I thought Tina was okay, but I’d rather have had Rachel for more of the movie.
@@greenkoopa oh, I agree with that, she’s full of energy and is a bit weird and extroverted
Halloween five is a cult classic it’s fucking legendary it’s such a fun movie
The mask is essential and they botched that big time. That terrible mask alone was a major reason I despise 5.
I like Halloween 4 5 6 decent trilogy with flaws
I always used to wonder how Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees became immortal, but then I realized it was just to make money for the studios. 😅
Gets a lot of shit, but compared to most the other sequels Halloween 5 has some of the best atmosphere, suspense and Shape action.
Of course. 5 brought Michael back to being a fullbore stalker...as he was originally conceived.
Yes. Except the cops are accompanied by goofy, useless music. And it’s incredibly lame
This explain so much. My biggest gripe with this movie is how mean-spirited Dr. Loomis is. Some scenes were hard to watch because of how mean and aggressive he was to Jamie. The worst was when he held Jamie and used her to bate Michael all the while the little girl is screaming and is extremely terrified (great acting by Danielle Harris!). I also hated how mean the town people were to Jamie and it was also hard to watch this sweet little girl be left to face Micheal alone in the end. Nevertheless, I don't hate this film. It has a lot of good things about it. I love the look of the film and the colors they use throughout. It really feels like Autumn here. I love Tina's character and the car chase scene where Billy, Jamie, and Tina are running from Michael. Halloween 4 is my favorite sequel in this franchise so I love that this movie continues that story. If they'd dropped the man in black crap and made Loomis more symphathetic, this could have been a better movie. Still nothing can ever be as horrible as Halloween Ressurrection. Trick r treat motherfucker! Geez, what were they thinking casting Busta Rhymes.
Halloween resurrection sucked...busta rhymes lol..tick or tread mfer...
Loomis was portrayed perfectly imo. Michael was breaking him mentally causing him to snap
@@basedjiren3889 I agree he made he savage from trying figure out how to stop him
@@basedjiren3889 Agreed. If he had actually witnessed all that death, Loomis would have massive ptsd.
Nothing mean-spirited about Loomis. He needed information from her...he needed it in a HURRY...so he didn't bother with the niceties. If you'll recall, he TRIED the kindly grandfather bit with her in 4...and then she attacked someone with a big pair of scissors....Naturally, he's going to be somewhat more standoffish after seeing that. But when push came to shove, he STILL placed himself between her and Michael Myers on 3 separate occasions in this movie...
There are many moments throughout this franchise which have directly or indirectly shaped (no pun intended) how later entries would play out. Akkad's reluctance to make Jamie a killer is second only to John Carpenter's decision to make Michael and Laurie siblings in terms of its lasting effect on the overall mythos, and continues to reverberate through the series to this day. In 5, it resulted in the introduction of the Thorn cult, a ludicrous plotline that subsequently led to multiple reboots to try and shed that baggage and start with a clean slate. It led to a lot of ultimately unused story pitches and unproduced scripts which have, in turn, been cannibalized for later entries which did get made. I don't know if we would have gotten a great movie out of the idea, but I have no doubt that we would have gotten something better than REVENGE, and that there would likely be fewer disparate timelines to sort out now.
I saw Halloween 4 in a packed theater opening night...we had a blast.
A year later I saw part 5 in an empty theatre and I felt very disappointed at the end of that film. It has some ok moments. But that ending was just puzzling.
Was part 5 also on opening night when you saw it? Lol. Part 4 was the first Halloween I ever saw, I loved it, so then I watched all the previous ones
@@fishrenfroeboyd7954 yup
What about Part 6
I also saw part 6 in a theater. I was satisfied. I honestly was just glad to see a Halloween film after six years
Halloween h20 is the lame one I think Halloween 5 is a good one but the ending they could of done a better ending to it
I can’t deny I love Halloween 5, I have such a soft spot for it- nostalgic memories as I think it was the second one I watched after being introduced to Halloween from number 4. Sure I get it H5 feels like a straight to DVD or a TV movie, there’s a certain cheapness. But I much prefer this than Halloween ends!
H5 is pretty much the FRIDAY the 13th part 5 of the series. Jason always either came out with a movie a year after the previous.
same. I have a super soft spot for H5
Yeah Halloween 5 has a soft spot for me as well. I agree on the Nostalgic Memories.
Nothing REMOTELY 'straight to dvd' about Halloween 5. It's a masterpiece. Robert Draper shot the film in such a fashion that it is utterly distinctive and brilliant. If you like the movie, stop groveling...
@@tgriffin3059 thanks for you opinion and I would not disagree that Robert Draper did a great job shooting H5. I Love Halloween 5. However as much as you are entitled to your opinion that H5 is a “masterpiece” I am so entitled to mine like everyone is here in the Halloween community. We all have our own personal preferences of the Halloween movies and opinions on each. So to clarify you think H5 is a masterpiece and I think it feels “straight to DVD” still.
It wouldn't be the Halloween season without a Michael Myers / Halloween video on JoBlo Horror. It's tradition.
I like all of the Halloween movies, even the ones I hate. Nostalgia knows no sensical dialogue.
👍
Should've been called Halloween $$$ 🎃
I think the Doctor Loomis having to help redeem Micheal would have been a cool idea, make for a non cannon what if story at least
“Many considered it the lowest point in the franchise.”
Halloween Ends: Hold my beer
Halloween resurrection: Hold my beer.
Yea was going to say they’ve made far worse than Halloween ends
Facts! Ends was terrible omg
Halloween Ends made Resurrection look like a great movie.
Douchebag
Joblo: "Halloween 5, the black sheep of the franchise"
Halloween 3: "Am I a joke to you?"
3 is good though
@Cherry poppin fun that’s because it was suppose to become an anthology. Dont forget Michael did get shot in the face twice & burned after an explosion. But someone he comes back to 4 like none of that ever happened lol
@Cherry poppin fun John carpenter basically got forced into making a sequel. He wanted to move on from Halloween after the first film. He’s stated that he hates part 2. It’s well documented
3 is GARBAGE
Halloween 6 was worse. That whole crap with the cult? To me that was worst in the series.
It's funny... for my 12th birthday I had a sleepover and my friend said " dude we need to rent halloween 6 the curse of Michael myers. It's the BEST movie ever!"... but it was already rented out at the video store... so my parents rented halloween 5 instead...while I was very confused because it was my first entry to the series.. I LOVED it due to the protagonist being a child and connecting with that... so even with it being rittled with plot holes and all.. the nostalgia hits hard with this one... and I often think what would be if that video store DID have halloween 6 that night.. 🤔
I have a soft spot for the film since it was my gateway into the Halloween franchise
So RZ basically used the idea for Rachel on his Halloween 2? Interesting. I love hearing about old ideas being implemented in other installments.
yep that is cool to see old stuff used but the less said about that trash movie the better
I love Halloween’s 4 & 5 mostly nostalgic reasons I watched those movies when I was a tween and was so scared of Michael Myers but those movies are guilty pleasure to me
Dr. Loomis sounded like Emperor Palpatine when he said NOOO at the foot of the steps.
😀😀😀
This movie is the most rewatchable for me, and at least my top 3. Everyone dogs on the mask too but I think it’s one of my favorites and looks the creepiest
The one with Jamie being a teen killer would have been the winner. The Frankenstein one would be worse than the one we got lol
I know H5 has a lot of issues but it's still a classic for me personally. I still enjoy it more than ressurection.
It’s a great movie man😊
Most of the 'issues' you cite only amounted to a few seconds screen time. Meanwhile, Halloween 5 devotes most of its' running time to the things that make a Halloween movie great...stalking and slaughtering...
I hated the direction it went and best parts of this was Jamie, Rachel, Loomis and Myers and I hated the Myers mask. I did like Billy Hill too. I just hated the Tina character because she's suppose to be a Rachel replacement. But that tense scene with Michael chasing Jamie in the house, THAT was great.
Halloween 5 is an example of why never rush something!
And Ends
@@themadrapper101 Halloween Kills and I suspect Ends will be major examples of that!
@@entertainmentwizard2703 I think the new movies are good but have a lot of overlooked cringe. Mainstream critics promoted the movies by saying they are the best ones since the original so of course mostly all of the new fans believe it and there's A LOT of new fans
@@entertainmentwizard2703 I think the mask in the new movies (2018 being the best looking out of the 3) are overrated and similar to how Rob Zombie had the Michael Myers mask look.. Kill me for saying I think the masks in Halloween II, 4 5 6 and even Resurrection look scarier or better
@@themadrapper101 I found 2018 to be a ripoff of H20 that did a few things better but mostly worst and I found Kills to be a terrible movie!
The Frankenstein angle would've been an amazing way to move from what they'd done in 4.
For me, the series ended with H20. Especially, the last act of that film. From the moment Laurie Strode kicks the glass, takes out the axe and screams her brother's name...that moment alone made H20 more than just an average sequel.
You'd still have a get through an hour of mediocre crap before getting to the end which lasts for barely 5 minutes. It doesn't really save the movie, but it makes it a bit more interesting.
What? Are you serious? We're supposed to believe that a WOMAN could kill Michael Myers while he had both arms free? She couldn't do that to ME. I'd just take the axe away from her.
I watch each film every year & been a fan since a child. This film has always been weird to me. Literally watched it last night, & as much as I enjoyed it, I always did feel the story line was off. I just love the franchise so much tho.
Yes I agree it's weird.
This was darker and evil more than part 4. Satan cult did came up to storyline even more part 6 1995.
Rachel’s death left a huge hole in the film. They wanted to shock us, and it set the tone for the film but Jamie needed a parental figure. So Tina became that, and fans hated it. I liked Tina, but it just was so random how she was this new character that ended up having this huge role.
I don’t hate this film, and always found it scary. It’s just a big mess of things.
It was really stupid!
5 gets a bad wrap, but it was going to be hard to follow up a sequel as good as 4, anyway. I liked it overall and felt 6 and 8 were letdowns. I don’t think Jaime being a killer would have gone well. Michael’s mask is iconic and people are scared of the Shape, not his niece. The familial thing worked for Friday the 13th, but Pamela Voorhies didn’t have 3 films as the killer prior. 5 could have been reprieved by a strong 6.
these videos are the only thing keeping me sane
I actually like part 5 I normally don’t share it online because people gets mad for no reason

The hermit is a homage to the 1935's Bride of Frankenstein! In this scene, directed by James Whale, the Monster (Boris Karloff) meets his first friend, a blind hermit played by O.P. Heggie.
Halloween 4 did have an impressive box office considering back then Halloween films would only be in theaters for a couple weeks, Where with the recent ones they would at least have them in cinema’s until early to mid December
a couple of weeks?
Yes Halloween 4 released 10/23/1988 and was only in theaters until the end of the first week of November. It’s probably due to it being so strict with the season back then. Today Halloween ends ran until a week before thanksgiving, I think it’s divisive reception did that, where kills ran until a week before Christmas last year and the 2018 film ran the longest of the trilogy, running even during the first couple days of 2019 I remember my girlfriend and I saw it in theaters WHILE Christmas shopping 4 years ago 😂
H4 and H5 are my favorites. I saw H4 and H5 in theaters at the ages of 5 and 6.
H5 just isn't fun to watch. You know, Michael chasing around Laurie and Rachel and them being able to fend for themselves is cool. Seeing a traumatized, defenseless little eight year old girl get attacked and chased around by a big hulking monster who has brutally murdered everybody she loves... is just downright depressing. Especially so when considering what would end up happening to Jamie in the next movie.
Please do the 2015 remake of Poltergeist. It is the 40th anniversary of the 1982 classic and it is definitely time to look into this forgotten and ultimately lazy and bizarre remake.
Hopefully, we'll now get a Black Sheep episode for Cult Of Chucky before season 2 of Chucky starts
H5 is pure comedy, especially the part at the end when Loomis traps Myers in the net & beats him with the board 😂
I felt they missed it by not having the Jamie character take over from Michael. I liked the ending of part 4 with Jamie in the clown costume holding the bloody Scissors having killed her step mom. part 5 could have been a who done it mystery type movie... with people wondering if Michael is back but the mystery being are the dead bodies do to Michael or Jamie and try to solve the mystery.
like they did with the ending in Friday the 13th part 5
@@RealAaron317 that is Tommy could have taken over as you see the look on his face in the end of part 4
The movie definitely lacks a clear direction. But Danielle performs the heck out of it, even better than she was in 4, and the final act in the Myer's house is tense and scary and was shot well. So it's not a total loss.
It's Halloween season baby.. everyone making a Michael Myers video
They should’ve kept the idea of Jamie being the new killer.
Yeah, a knife wielding pre pubescent is exactly what wouldve taken this franchise onwards, not Michael....
NOOOOOT!!!
You must be high, brother, Jamie as the new Michael would be dumb as fuck. How many adults are gonna get overpowered by a little girl?
Ever seen Children of the Corn? A whole army of kids isn't scary...much less ONE...
That muscle man brute mask was scary
I liked the start of 5, but hated how fast Rachel was killed off and with such a bad death.
And then in Halloween H20 it's not realistic that Michael Myers didn't brutally butcher the woman and little girl in the bathroom before stealing her car keys and car. Lol
@@Amanda..AMichael just needed the car. Plus I guess they weren’t fully on board with Michael butchering a little girl that young (he has killed like 2 kids and only one on screen, and that kid he killed in 2018 was like 12)
Dr Loomis was Halloween series for me. Any of them with him in it are worth watching
I mean, his character is butchered beyond belief in Halloween 5, and he's locked into that godawful cult in H6, where he gets an awful ending, so.... debatable? Halloween, 2 and 4, sure. 5 and 6? I don't think so...
I’d definitely disagree with that lol
@@Gondarth No, Loomis enjoyed one of his finest outings in 5. He was more obsessive, and more intense...but that's understandable at this point. He has given up so much to stop Michael...even blowing up a building with himself inside it...and to wind up like this? His anger is understandable...
I grew up off 1 , 2 ,4 ,5 they're all good to me
Did Dr. Death go to CVS and get a totally new mask that doesn’t even fit Michael’s damn head? And how did Michael’s childhood home turn into Castle Greyskull?
Lmbo
They should add another video. Wtf happened to Halloween Resurrection: Michael Myers kills Laurie Strode
I love 4 so much that I’ll enjoy having 5 on and would for sure watch it over 6 or resurrection any day
Very interesting. I was always wondering about the man in black
In my own personal headcanon, I like to imagine that the events of 1-8 are all within the same continuity. The events of 4-6 happened in the H20-Resurrection timeline but they simply just weren’t mentioned (there was a deleted scene that I heard about years ago in which Laurie in H20 overheard about Jamie’s death so went to go vomit in the bathroom-not sure if that scene was ever shot though).
Laurie would never purposely leave her own daughter to another family lol, that doesn't work at all
@@idiot_city5444 Yeah but the trauma of being chased by a supernatural killer could have clouded her parental judgement.
@@swnerd-2320 nah
@@idiot_city5444 It didn't have to be written that she intentionally left her daughter behind. The car accident could have been real but she survived it and was lied to & told her daughter didn't survive it; thus, leading to Laurie using the entire event to fake her death and go into hiding with her son; she finds out the truth about what happened to Jamie later. By then, the cult storyline is already established so there could be motive to have lied if they made Jamie Lloyd their next cult target. Just throwing an alternative idea out there. I mean, H20 already has us suspending disbelief that Laurie was able to fake a car accident all on her own, with apparently Loomis & the nurse in the know (aka. The file), yet they still manage to pull one over on everybody, including law enforcement, with no body or remains left behind to bury lol. New ID and social security for a new life as Keri Tate, I mean, Loomis & Nurse MaryAnne didn't strike me as having the resources or connections to be the "witness protection types." Just saying lol. Still, the script kind of goes with that insinuation anyway.
With all the hate Part 5 and the "Tina" character get, one of my favorite scenes in the history of the franchise is when Tina gets into her boyfriends car to go to the party. The "laundry chute" scene is fantastic too. The mask is almost comically bad though
I think it’s unfortunate that Don never got to see his attack on the police officers realized the way James Courtney got to in Halloween kills.
So interesting this is considered the black sheep of the franchise when 6 and Resurrection exist. 😂
5, in a way, has some value as a "dark, gothic" horror movie; some people claim it's an accidental Giallo piece, and they say the movie pairs well with other "Giallo" pieces, as a double feature.
Still, though, as a Halloween movie, it's... uh...
Certainly a movie.
6 is better than this even if its just based on how it looks. H5 looks and feels really cheap like a made for TV movie from the mask to the Myers house to the lighting, music score and camera angles and even opening credits.
The story to 6 is weird but that is 5's fault but at least they made Haddonfield look like Haddonfield again and the Myers mask actually looked like the Myers mask lol
I always liked 6 a lot. 5 is definitely the worst IMO. 5 would have been so much better if the main character would have just been Lindsey Wallace instead of this new character Tina. It would have made sense with Tommy returning in the next film for 6.
ressuraction and season of the witch are definitely awful, but really feel like with 6 we get to see an explanation for Michael's sudden change from normal child to being taken over by an evil curse. Also explains his immortality and need to kill laurie and jamie, etc.
6 is such a mess
Watching this video now helps explain what the new Halloween ends was made
So, instead of 'Frankenstein', it became more "The Eyes of Jamie Lloyd". LOL! =)
Big mistake was killing off Rachel.
Yeah I really like Rachel and she look good in that towel 👍🤣
One thing this movie has going for it is the laundry chute scene. In Pt 4, they had Michael just kinda vaguely chasing after Jamie with the implied intent to kill... But that scene in 5 was the first time he was actively trying to stab the living crap out of her. Just drop the rest of the movie and watch that scene.
They crafted one of the greatest slasher movies ever made...THAT'S what happened...One of the top 3 Halloween movies, and one of the top 5 slasher movies...
Still better than the majority of other Halloweens
Definitely not majority. Maybe Resurrection and the Rob Zombie ones, but not much else
@@entelechy2020 Better than ANYTHING, aside from maybe Halloween 2...
And many slag H3 off for underperforming - yet a Michael Myers film is the worst performing film hahaha the irony
When i do start an Halloween marathon, i can go from.1 throught 4, but at part 5 i just stop midtrought.. Tina ,the bubbly cops, Rachel dying, the slow introduction of the cult..

Well he ain’t coming back now his ass is in a wood chipper 😂😂
It's definitely one of the black sheeps of the Halloween series. Halloween III, 5, Halloween 6, Resurrection, and RZ's Halloween II, are also 'black sheep' in some senses.
Add Kills to that list.
@@joshwilliams6517 , Kills is more divisive than a black sheep. But, that's just my opinion.
Halloween 5 is just about the very FINEST of the series. Only 2 can even be compared to it. 1, 2, and 5...that's the gold standard.
Halloween III was actually good, although it didn't find it's audience till years later. The others you mention were all bad. Zombie's Halloween II was one the few movies I hated so much that I was actually mad after watching it.
@@Rando1975 Yeah Halloween III got a bad rap! About 20 years later people softened off on it.....a lot! Maybe even earlier! LOL at being so mad at RZ's Halloween II! And I love Halloween 5 and 6 but yeah they are sh*tty movies!
TINA was the WORST character ever. I hated this film.
I'm so happy when it's your voice, Jason.
Halloween 6 (Curse of Michael Myers) was even worse than Halloween 5 (Revenge of Michael Myers).
First of all, all that firepower at the end of Halloween 4, he would have literally been cut in half. There's no way he would have been intact.
He’s Micheal myers. What do you expect?
I heard it's the same Druid Cult from Halloween 3 that kidnapped her and him in the end
I've watched this movie several times and it wasn't until my son watched it with me the other day he noticed first watch the Thorn Cult symbol that's carved in the wall in the Meyers house at the end of the movies.
Halloween 1978 was the best film , Halloween 2018 and the continuations are also respectable.
For some reason people don't like Halloween Kills but I liked it a lot and we got a week and a half til Ends comes out
I mean Halloween 5 wasn’t ever my most favorite but I don’t think it’s as bad as people make it out to be. My favorite in the franchise is actually Halloween 6 which also gets a lot of hate but Michael was truly more evil and dark in that movie. I saw it in theaters when I was 10.
Funny how this sorta parallels the Nightmare on Elm Street series. 4 was super successful then 5 took a dip and remained one of the more disliked ones in the series, and it was the same year. Plus Nightmare 5 almost got an X rating
They pushed this into production without a complete script
This is basically the Alien 3 and The Last Jedi of the Halloween franchise.
More like Jaws the Revenge or Poltergeist III.
Have you seen Halloween 6?
@@stablegenius8126 You know, I used to hate Halloween 6 but I've come to appreciate it little more over the years. Also, Amazon had the original director's cut and it is a much better film than the theatrical film. It even have a more traditional version of the score instead of the electric guitar version used in the film. Also, after Halloween Ressurection, any movie will look better next to that turkey.
@@stablegenius8126 Yes and its the absolute worst Halloween film. Its The Rise of Skywalker of slasher movie sequels. Both versions of the movie are equally bad.
Yeah their idea at the writing stage of Michael with all the metal in him and getting struck by lightning would have been a direct rip-off of Friday the 13th Jason Lives with Jason getting struck by lightning which came out before this one.
After Halloween Ends they need to get Ellie Cornell & Danielle Harris back and finish off a true sequel to Halloween 4
Omg yes!!!!!!!
Killing Rachel was the biggest mistake in cinematic history of any franchise! Tina sucked, the director fked this movie and Moustapha was just glad he was making money. I still love this movie 🤷
Weird hearing that in one of the early drafts, Michael Myers would become a Frankenstein monster. What’s funny is that Tom McLoughlin turned Jason Voorhees into a Frankenstein monster, a.k.a., a zombie. And I will be honest, I was never a fan of slashers becoming zombies, which includes zombie Jason. Because they were already scarier as superhuman serial killers. Enough said.
Yeah but Jason was still evil. This would of made Michael I guessss cured lol? Which I kinda would love that as like a What If story lol.
@@youbetimcomingupinmay Jason was never evil. He was a tragic character that had been picked on by people and children. Say what you will about the comic books or New Line’s interpretation of Jason Voorhees being “pure evil” or “son of the Devil”, it was never canon in my eyes. I stick with the original storyline that they were originally in the 80s. He’s just vengeful, that’s all he is. He doesn’t serve as hell’s assasin or some crap that Adam “The Fatass” Marcus made up, he never watched them all except for the first movie. And shame on him for polarizing the fandom. Saying that he’s a fucking “deadite”. 😒
Do a ranking of the halloween films pls including halloween ends
Here’s an interesting idea. The evil transfers to Jaime, and Michael and Dr. Loomis team up to save her spirit from evil.
My girl Rachel deserved better, man.
Totally agree. So disappointed how they just wasted her character like that
It's better than Halloween ends
On thing that gets me is that in Halloween 5 it was claimed that Michael Myers would "FINALLY" be unmasked. Apparently they never seen the first movie in the series.
Facts
See, I don't get the point of never showing Michael's face at this point. We saw him very clearly in the original Halloween. It's practically a joke at this point.
@@Gondarth It's called a 'mystique.' Treat him like an ordinary man, and it changes the whole franchise. Wanna see him shaving or getting car insurance? No thanks.
Whatever its shortcomings, the penultimate Dr Loomis vs Michael Myers happened in 5 which was great.
I hated that they killed of Rachel. I did love the chase of Jaime in the old house. Harris did an amazing job.
I wanted the man in black to be Jamie’s father who we never see on screen and he comes back to take Michael out for good but fails
@@travzimmerman1340 It was never confirmed. Being her father would've been more interesting than that godforsaken Thorn cult.
BLOWS MY MIND that they don’t know how to get the mask right. Seriously. It’s not that hard. I rewatched 5 a few nights ago and the fucking mask bugged the shit out of me. How can they mess up such an easy thing to create!?!? HOW!?!?🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
