    Great video man ! i have an fn2 as a daily and i have just bought some KW V1 coilovers and full polybush powerflex, the car is transformed, i love it. The fn2 is so fun to drive but the stock front brakes feeled a bit weak to me so i bought a yellowspeed 6 pot BBK and a full BF goodrige brake lines kit . The car is now perfect for the twisty roads where i live . The FN2 deserve more love !

      Thanks, it's greatly appreciated!
      I did look at KWs but they were just out if my price range lol. BBKs and Suspension mods are always the best way to go first in my opinion, especially if you have twisty roads!
      The FN2 definitely deserves a lot more love than it gets - no doubt!

    On everyday roads the fn2 type r is a bone crunching ride lol. But do I love it? Yea 😅

    Interesting video, thanks! I've had Eibach Pro springs for a few years but am seriously considering Coilovers. Have you changed your front bushes to poly bushes like Powerflex?

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the compliments siir!
      I haven't gone full polybushed as I was advised it'd be waaay too stiff stiff for the road with coilovers - only the engine and gearbox mounts and the rear beam are polybushed.
      What coilovers are you looking at

      @@jsdriveway I was considering MeisterR but only as they seem quite popular. I must admit since I poly bushed the front it is quite firm for day to day driving (I do over 40 miles a day mostly motorway).

      Yeah meisters have a great reputation though so they're a strong candidate...

    @jsdriveway what's the partnumber of the coilovers you fitted? Are those the Tein VSHA2-C1AS1?

    J on the Tein lowering springs is it perfect for all daily driving duties including speed bumps mounting curbs etc?

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The lowering springs were great for daily driving. Low enough for the car to look and handle better but not too low to clear speed bumps. Deffo worth the money

    I dropped my Celica on springs instead of coilovers and it suffers a bit from negative camber on the rears - not enough to affect the handling negatively, but I doubt tyres will last as long as they should on the insides.

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว

      How much camber, do you know?
      I do have a soft spot for Celicas 👀👀
      I highly doubt it would be affected vastly since it is the rears but it might be worth getting an alignment?
      How much is the drop btw?

    • @BlackLines
      @BlackLines ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jsdriveway it's 25mm drop .... the camber isn't terrible, but it is noticeable. The cars away being welded (sills) but should be coming back this week and I'll be deciding whether to keep the springs or put on some coilovers (which is why I noticed your video).

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay awesome. What springs are they out of curiosity? Also, what coilovers would you go for?
      Is the car for the road strictly or would you be tracking it?

    • @BlackLines
      @BlackLines ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jsdriveway they were just cheap Vogtland Sport springs from a company called JJC Race & Rally in Wrexham ... it may well be that my shocks aren't the best to be fair. The car used to be my daily but is now a project that I'd like to put on track here and there which is why I'm considering coilovers as an upgrade. As you say I think if it was my daily I'd just keep the springs and save the money (and my back lol)

  • @Althemusicman1
    @Althemusicman1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agree with alot of what you said in the video, I'm running yellowspeed coilovers on mine with a whiteline rear anti roll bar plus it's fully polybushed, it's a weekend car though and I could never live with it daily!
    I'd never sell mine either...👍

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว

      What's it like for you with it fully bushed? Also, what other mods do you have on yours?

    • @Althemusicman1
      @Althemusicman1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jsdriveway It's extremely hard and unforgiving but handles like it's on rails, only other mod is adjustable drop links I had fitted at the same time as the polybushing, coilovers and rear anti roll bar.
      I had original suspension on it that was way over due a re-fresh so decided to get the handling sorted properly and had it aligned and corner weighted too.
      Next thing will be a big brake kit, I'm sure you'll agree that the stock brakes aren't really up to the job.
      Just spent a small fortune getting rusty area's underneath cut out and new metal welded in plus a dinitrol treatment.
      Watch out for the dreaded tin worm on yours!👍

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'll be getting an alignment soon and need to install my adjustable drop links too - I've bought them, just haven't installed them.
      What BBK will you go for? I highly recommend Freaky parts Brembo MK3 calipers, the stopping power is very, very impressive.
      I do need to clean and underseal the my car, especially with all these cracking rear beams happening around me haha

    • @Althemusicman1
      @Althemusicman1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jsdriveway Mike's a huge difference mate, go with one of the honda specialists that have experience setting cars up properly and you won't go wrong.
      I've been looking at the kit's on that website, plenty of options based on budget etc...
      I've already replaced my beam due to it being half rotten!
      You're going to do the undersealing on your driveway?
      I paid a company that specialises in undersealing, it's quite a big job.
      First all the undertrays and wheel arch liners etc are removed and then steam cleaning and high pressure water cleaning is done and then time is given to allow the car to dry out before the undersealing is done in a couple of stages, to do it properly takes quite a few days.👍

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I have been thinking about actually getting it aligned properly with the corner weighting done. I do need to make sure that it's all used properly.
      The MK3 calipers are slightly bigger than the DC5 4 pots incase you were wondering. There are yellow speed 6 pot calipers which a lot of people swear by.
      Yeah I think I'd change my rear beam at the same time in all honestly but a new one £1000!!
      I think I'd do what a lot of people have done and get a Type S one with a whiteline RARB and polybushes. That way, if anything, it's more rigid than OEM 🤷🏾‍♂️😅.
      I wouldn't do it myself, I'd pay for someone to do it for me for sure

    What is better coilover or springs ?my english is not good and i dont undertand all

    • @jsdriveway
      @jsdriveway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your car is used for road use, coilovers for all out performance but the comfort of the springs is slightly better than coilovers.
      I hope that helps?
