hello, everything but one was broken by the bad dirt road in Mongolia and Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan. Afterwards the spring package was too light. A heavier version was available. At home we replace the parabolic springs with a leaf spring package. This year again to Mongolia, had no problems.
You are having my dream trip! One day I will travel like you! Can you tell me what the fuel consumption is of those Unimogs? (those are Unimogs, right?) I am very attracted to the vehicle but I am concerned bout the mileage. I once traveled a few months in a van and the fuel was the largest cost and financial drain of the whole journey!
@@beenmagrietopreis2436 Thank you kindly for your quick reply, I appreciate it! If I calculated it correctly you'll be doing approx. 5 km for each liter of diesel - which is more economical than a the average truck, but a lot more expensive than a car. So, since you are traveling a lot of km's fuel consumption must be one of your biggest costs of this journey, am I right? Thanks again and enjoy your travels!
@@beenmagrietopreis2436 That is fortunate, but ... you first have to get there. If it is possible and no problem could you ask you travel companions with the Unimog what their fuel consumption is?

Hello, Thanks for your response, the front car is a Unimog, the rear green one is ours, a Mercedes 917 4x4. Use about 20 liters of diesel per 100 km

@@sharonbaab3101 Yes, it is ... luckily the diesel prices outside Europe are lower. about 50/60 Eurocent in for example in Mongolia
