What a precious interview. This is like a chapter from history. Such a balanced, honest portrayal and glimpse into his parents inner world. No other interview on Guru Dutt/ Geeta Dutt will be as poignant or as haunting as this one. So, sad Arun Dutt has gone too.
He looks more like his father and has same honesty in the way he is narrating his thoughts from what he remembers as a child. I am glad we have someone to narrate the real story. I remember as a child how his death sent shock waves in India soon to be followed by the massive success of C K C. The massive success of that film was still over shadowed by the untimely death of it’s creator.
Guru Datta was part of my emotional Life since Pyasa. The Magic of his Creativity is still very much alive for me. Geetaji also have a unique place in the History of our Cinema. I am unable to share my feelings in words for both of them and the Children. Watching their son sharing some cinematic and family experiences from his perspective was very precious experience for me. Will record this for my Last Days !
He too is a Star Kid. Did anyone notice the difference between him and today's Star Kids. Pain and suffering makes everyone so realistic and matured.. Dutt family tragedy always breaks my heart to pieces and i am always in deep pain whenever i think about the condition of this family. I put myself in that situation and think about it 😭😭😭. Guru Dutt is like one of my idol's and my heart breaks completely at the personal tragedy of this family. Just cnt explain or express it in words. So many great people like Gurudattji have shortened life due to missed diagnosis of Bipolar disorder and no treatment offered to them. In those years Psych care was minimal and had stigma too.. Gurudattji was certainly one of the best Director/Editor and Actor.
Not only in those day, even today mental health issues are given least priority.. Millions of people suffer by depression and BPD including rich, poor, educated, uneducated, famous and non-famous and both men and women..!! But not even 1% of them seek medical help.. The reason being, many of them don't know themselves, that they are suffering from this.. And think like, they are abnormal and feel insecurity and inferere complex.. The amount of pain they go through on everyday basis bcoz of this is just unimaginable..!! And numerous talented people!/ geniuses have been the victims of this condition since ages.. And it's really very sad..!

Both their sons Arun and Tarun are gone. The youngest is Neeta who is married to actress Meenu Mumtaz's son and lives in Mississauga, Canada.
