Great video, thanks! Funnily, your video was recommended to me - It's cool to see recommendations for smaller channels, as well. Keep going! I haven't played most of the games in your compilation, but I have developed a fondness for cozy games, with Spiritfarer being my absolute favorite so far.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker might fit the bill for some. Nothing is attacking you, you don't have to worry about oxygen running out in higher levels or free-play mode. Soundtrack is pretty mellow, too
Well, maybe "cozy gaming" is the mood or feeling you have while playing a game. For me, as strange it is, I have stumbled upon "No Man's Sky" and I am so in love with it!
When we had our daughter in April 2020 we used to play it heaps. When she woke up I’d feed her then my partner and I would take turns staying up with her till she slept again and we would play no mans sky. It is super relaxing and an all time favourite. I need to play again though as it has been some time since I played it last and they have added heaps.
Tysm for not posting the copy/paste farming games! As someone who used to enjoy the occasional cozy farming game, you are so right about the innundation of these samey games. I have been looking for something like this video, so thanks! Subbed! 💖
You got a new subscriber just because you mentionned the cozy side of World of Warcraft, it's mainly why i play it, i enjoy exploring and doing quests and following the different storylines, thanks for this awesome video !
Thank you so much for subscribing and checking out the video! Indeed, I love levelling alts and wandering around. Never really cared for end game content.
I really enjoyed this video. I do often find farming games cozy, but I definitely agree that it's how the game makes you feel that determines whether it's a cozy game or not. I find Dorfromantik really cozy, I love seeing how long I can make the rivers or how big I can make the settlements, and seeing the boats or trains chugging along is so lovely. Another game that I love and find cozy is Cook Serve Delicious 3, specifically playing the levels in chill mode, and I enjoy decorating the food truck with little trinkets and postcards :D
@SlothVibes-YT It's great! People think of it as a farming sim but it's more of a crafting sim. The story is also great and all of the DLCs are named after TV shows. Give it a try!
Haha, yeah, in the game that I showed in the video, I had undead slaves! Previously, I did a vampire bloodfarm colony. So weirdly cozy though! Indeed, I always love to chill with city skylines
My favorite cozy game is subnautica. Sure there are some terrifying and stressful moments but outside of those this game is a world I love to be in and just while away the hours..
Some great games and good video. I've played most of these and agree each have a good degree of mental escape and relaxation. Never heard of sainthood and will be checking it out. Haven't played snow runner either, but do have euro truck simulator which has a similar vibe. Some other games I find cozy/relaxing in their own right Backpack Hero- A unique turn based dungeon crawler where you pick up tetris-like equipment, and fight by organizing items in your backpack to create synergies. I find the puzzle organization side of the gameplay loop to be very satisfying creating different builds to either scrape by or steamroll your way through the dungeon(s) Viscera Cleanup Detail- I find chilling to the in game radio and methodically cleaning up various disaster scenes to be a very rewarding and relaxing feedback loop of "restoring" levels. Also enjoy piecing together what happened in each scenario as you clean and document casualties. Its enjoyable dark humor Superflight- A procedurally generated skydiving game. You control a character in a wingsuit and get points by flying/falling/gliding close to obstacles. Fast resets for crashing, so it's pretty low stakes, and I find the sound design to be fantastic with the wind noises as you fall and glide Exodemic- a compact little 3 button shoot'em up roguelike. You control a little ship that jumps between planet orbits and shoot down aliens escaping the planets in kinda a reverse space invaders way. You can shoot, dash, or jump to another orbit, and have to balance taking out all the aliens before they escape each level. There are upgrade shops along the way which power up your dash and weapon that make it fun to try different things each run
Thanks so much for watching and the comment! I have always wanted to play eurotruck, and I would imagine that it feels similar to snowrunner. There is also mudrunner and Expeditions: A MudRunner Game - I have been playing this alot recently, and it is more framed around exploration which is pretty cool. Backpack hero is on my list! I love a strategy game, so relaxing. Viscera Cleanup Detail is also a good one as well, there is a demo of a similar game which I have been eyeing up called Goblin Cleanup which is about cleaning up after adventurers once their done in a dungeon. Looks fun. I haven't heard of the last two, but they do sound pretty cool :)
I am not the biggest cozy game gamer. I hated Stardew Valley. But I like to try out all types of games. But I am going to sub for two reasons. One you have a broader definition of cozy games. And second you handled the hate in the comments section very maturely and positively. Keep it up 👍
Highly recommend Snowrunner, love taking my time driving a massive truck through mud to deliver items. I could also recommend Power Wash simulator and Lawn Mower Simulator
I love cozy, relaxing games. Thank you for this video. I have a few of these games and played them, but there were several others I wasn't familiar with.
Hi! I'm just letting you know that your video popped up on my fyp after I searched for cozy games on Switch. I totally agree with your opinion! Farming games seem to become so repetitive. I just finished Potion Permit (which I loved) and am in search of something new that does not feel like a Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing clone.
Thanks so much for having a little look at my video I appreciate it :) Never heard of potion permit, looks good though! If you are looking for something new, I would recommend my Unconventionally Cozy, and Undiscovered Cozy games playlists on my channel for some ideas.
You shouldve added Mabinogi to this list after WoW. Cherry on top is that its graphics are old lol but theyre working on upgrading them to unreal engine after all these years!!! It will take a long time but its nice to see how theyre making their way there with the behind the scenes vids . Its free to play as well. The visuals and music are sooo nice and theres many jobs such as cook etc. Maybe youd love it. Its simple and relaxing to just sit and look out at the horizon.
World of Warcraft has been my favourite (and since I played mostly for myself) cozy game for a decade, but I don't play anymore since ... I think it was the one after Sylvanas downfall? It's been a few years and I don't even know the names anymore. It's nice to see it mentioned here :) Now I play The Long Dark, a game that hits all the right spots to feel cozy for me. It's got snow, loneliness and an absolute beautiful art style.
Yeah I have been in and out of WoW since BFA. The new expansion is okay though. Ooh I can definitely see how the long dark would be cozy, looks awesome!
Ironically, one facet of WoW I find relaxing is working the earth at Sunsong Ranch in the little town of Halfhill in Pandaria. So, farming, lol. But I enjoy it primarily because of the atmosphere. That town is one of my favorite places in all of Azeroth. Part of me wishes I could just move there and drink beer and eat noodles with the pandaren townsfolk, and dig in the dirt. 😊❤
I've always thought I was a fan of cosy games and rimworld but I guess they are one and the same! Would also nominate hardspace shipbreaker, the experience of slowly pulling a space ship apart is somehow really relaxing
Oh yeah, snowrunner is just fine. It's so relaxing hauling you out of tough situations you put yourself in :3 seriously though a good list. Weirdly for me one that's come up a lot lately is Contraband Police. Checking passports and documents is somehow very chill.
@SlothVibes-YT I've spent hours in that game and not once did I farm, I spent all my time fishing and exploring sometimes catching bugs and building a cute town and being chased by crocodiles and sharks.
I don't support the problematic comments JK has made either, but I love the HP world and choose not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is a lot of great art out in the world going way back to classic works of lit, music, and artwork, and many of those artists were also problematic. If some of us can separate the art from the artist and still get enjoyment out of the creations, we shouldn't be shamed. Just my 2 cents. ☺
@Florophase it's not a historical artwork. it's a current brand with a living creator who continues to get richer as she spouts more and more hatred and misinformation on the internet.
PLEASE NOTE: Many of the games featured are highly modded so they may not reflect out-of-the-box gameplay.
"cozy gaming's not a genre, it's a feeling" 👏👏👏👏
I disagree. Cozy games are indeed a genre but they only succeed when they deliver that feeling.
Great video, thanks! Funnily, your video was recommended to me - It's cool to see recommendations for smaller channels, as well. Keep going!

It looks pretty cool actually!
Well, maybe "cozy gaming" is the mood or feeling you have while playing a game. For me, as strange it is, I have stumbled upon "No Man's Sky" and I am so in love with it!
Yeah, that's my thoughts, too. I think it comes down to whatever you enjoy, and just simply play it and enjoy it :)
When we had our daughter in April 2020 we used to play it heaps. @roslynbarratt6902 what system are you playing on. Been thinking of trying it on switch but lack of multiplayer has been giving me pause

Aww thanks so much. I hope it gives you some additional ideas :)
Thanks for the video!
I find Voices of the Void absolutely cozy in the moments between all of the horrors happening around.
Great suggestion! Looks pretty creepy, but I am a bit of a wimp hehe

Omg just found your channel and I’m loving it!💛
Im glad you are enjoying the channel! Thanks for stopping by!
I want more games like Graveyard Keeper. Love that game! More horror though. Automation system, ect.
I have heard good things about gravekeeper. Never tried it though :)
@SlothVibes-YT It's great! People think of it as a farming sim but it's more of a crafting sim. The story is also great and all of the DLCs are named after TV shows. Give it a try!
Ah, yes, my most favorite cozy game task: organ harvesting! I do love City Skylines for picking a winter setting for cozy snow building.
Oooo nice pick. I love how they accidentally made a horror game lol.

Always. Nice to see knew games cozy ones❤
Indeed there is much more out there than people think :)
putting rimworld in makes me think of dwarf fortress, and putting WoW in makes me think of diablo. both could be cozy games too
For sure. Diablo 3 is pretty cozy :)
Thinking about your name "bridgeee5428" makes me think about crossing a bridge 5428 times 😉

@danielkover7157 Thanks for watching! I loved doing the farming stuff in pandaria tbf. It's going to be pretty fun when pandaria classic is out :)
I've always thought I was a fan of cosy games and rimworld but I guess they are one and the same! Would also nominate hardspace shipbreaker, the experience of slowly pulling a space ship apart is somehow really relaxing
Ooo not heard of that one. Indeed, it is perfectly fine spending some time doing farming..then logging into rimworld for more "farming" lol
I just came to say NO xD
Haha, fair enough! What's your favourite thing about farming sims? :)
my actual cozy game is divinity original sins 2
Oooo good pick. Haven't played it yet but i loved bg3
Graveyard keeper
Ooo haven't heard of that one before. Looks cool though
Oh yeah, snowrunner is just fine. It's so relaxing hauling you out of tough situations you put yourself in :3 seriously though a good list. Weirdly for me one that's come up a lot lately is Contraband Police. Checking passports and documents is somehow very chill.
I know right so relaxing! Ah yes, not played it but looks similar to papers please I guess?
this just waffled on far too long
Yeah I'm a waffler. Thanks for the comment and for watching :)
dinkum is def not a farming sim kinda rude to put it on that list. its much more versatile
Cool. What do you like most about Dinkum? :)
@SlothVibes-YT I've spent hours in that game and not once did I farm, I spent all my time fishing and exploring sometimes catching bugs and building a cute town and being chased by crocodiles and sharks.
@@SteampunkPyrate Oh nice I'm glad you enjoyed it. Exploring can be super cozy (although I just tend to wander around aimlessly!).

I don't support the problematic comments JK has made either, but I love the HP world and choose not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
