I am 62 yrs old and I have been disabled for about 12 years. I am confined to bed so I really need a hobby that can be done while laying down which is tough. While I was on line one day I came across some tutorials on drawing with pencil and with pen and ink. I was hooked, I really enjoy it. However, I have gotten to a point that I just can't improve beyond that point. I need help but I'm not able to go to a class. Today I have found your online tutorial and courses. It's exactly what I need and what I was hoping for. You are such a great artist and your teaching style makes learning a pleasure. Thank you.
When I first started drawing in the late 70's, I hit upon the technique of using cheap ball-point pens, such as the Bic stick pens. When pressing lightly, they broke just right so that you can use pressure to add values. This allowed me to use cross-hatching as you are with ink, but it allows the light and medium values also. Plus is was a lot of fun to learn a new skill. Thanks for your tutorials.
This is lovely, Matt, as always. Thanks for your generosity in the free lessons during the Corona pandemic--I have recommended your website to all the students I have online and also locally in California for a while, and again now. On top of being a great teacher and artist, you're a truly nice person, more and more rare nowadays online. wishing you joy, health, and more epic art adventures, h

It's a pleasure watching your process. Your draftsmanship is exquisite! I love the composition and how you exaggerated the dandelions. One doesn't always draw "what you see." ;-)
This really helps to overcome the point at your drawing, when it looks weird. Its always paying off to continue - this was one of the most valueable tipps I ever was given! Thank you for your great tutorials and I look forward to join your pen and ink course!
This man makes MAGIC with everything he touches! Such a Great Multi-talent Artist! Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your amazing talent! Bravo! Merci!
Thank you so much for all the tutorials , I feel I am gaining confidence in many aspects - especially drawing. This is down to your clear instructions and generosity of free lessons especially during another lockdown .
Wow, so stunning! I love using b&w ink pens, but my drawing skills are rusty and I never learned how to draw landscapes. This is very inspiring!! Thank you.
Hey Matt this is brilliant. Again thanks for all you do,I had to pause half way through pen and ink course cos I've not been too well, but ive managed to finish 3 drawings so far as opposed to only 1 last year. I'm doing a dog portrait so I'll try get pen & ink course finished, slowly but I'll get there. Cheers Matt
This is so lovely. I'm sure you make it seem much easier than it actually is! I wonder how much time the whole piece took for you, and I'd probably take 2x of that :D
Great video! Makes me wanna take out my lineart pens. On a different note, I've tried to sign up for the free course module, but for some reason nothing happens when I press the button . I've tried multiple times :(

I hope things aren't too difficult for you. Check out Alphonso Dunn also, he's excellent. Take care.
Allowing a part of the drawing to 'spill out' from its circular plane is such an elegant technique!
It’s so beautiful. I don’t understand some words, because I’m from Russia, but your arts gives me a lot of motivation to drawing)
у тебя очепятка в последнем слове drawing, получилось "мотивация утопиться" ))). Подтягивай, удачи)
Motivation to 'drawing'. 🙂
'Drowning' is when someone has water in their lungs so they cannot breathe.

Wolf Cry thank you 😊
Lone Survivor Спасибо увидела, а у вас в слове «опечатка» 😂
В России можешь поискать книжку автора Клаудиа Найс, их переведённых две в России выходило. В своё время мне очень помогли.

I really enjoy all the little details in a pen and ink, thanks for sharing! Hey, btw, are you pronouncing it "draw-wing" on purpose?
So good. Great tips (pun intended).
❣️🌌
Hola, estan subtitulados los cursos al español?

Harika😍👏👏

So, after you’re completely done with all ink… then you erase the pencil markings at the very end?
Yes, very carefully.
Asdrad♠️
How long did this take to make?
Which pen is this ?
Not gonna disrespect or something, but you missed the chairs which are in the reference. Anyway really good drawing, love it.
I’m assuming he did that on purpose. Like he decided he didn’t want to add it for some reason but just forgot to mention it
Phenomenal work. One tiny thing, you might want to limit the number of times you say, "of course". It became distracting once I noticed it.
i like it, but something wrong with left window
Hi, the link does not work for me, is it still available please?
Where is the original picture
نحن نحب القناه لكن نريد الترجمه باللغه العربيه اذا ممكن ..
I don't speak german
wish i have money to buy equipments lol
Dude it’s pencil and paper.
Why would you not just trace the important features at the pencil stage? Save some time, and it's the rendering that is the meat of the art, anyway.
