      Hopefully soon. Will have to get the chassis done first.

    Anxiously waiting for the next video on the truck build. I hate when I forget to order a part to finish up. And it’s always obvious how in the world did I forget that😆

      I should have all the parts by next video. I'm getting excited to finish the engine up and get on the chassis!

    In future videos, it would be great if you could list the part numbers along with the manufacturer. It saves a bit of time at the parts store. I like your presentation style, like the extra info you give such as using thread sealer on the water pump bolts. Thanks for the help....

      I don't buy parts at the parts store anymore. The complete lack of anyone at the counter that has any knowledge combined with not stocking anything anymore has turned me to Rock Auto. Rock Auto lists every vehicle by make and model and then it's an easily searchable list for each part. It gives all the manufacturers and part numbers so you can pick which level of part you want, unlike the autoparts store that usually carries the cheapest Chinese brand.

    What concerns me about the magnum engines is how the timing chain is lubricated only by gravity.....the oil comes through those two round holes above the timing chain and hits a deflector to oil the chain....so if the vehicle is going uphill I wonder if enough oil gets to the timing chain... it is not surprising that the timing chain on these engines wear around 100 thousand miles or so.

      That equals out to be about every 10 years or so, so not that bad. I just did mine, had 146k on it. Had slop but wasn't a disaster.

    I have a la 360 in my d200. I turned the engine counter clockwise a bit getting flexplate on and off torque converter. Will it jump a tooth Turning engine counter clockwise?

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not unless the chain is really, really sloppy. I just put a new set on this Magnum because I had it apart.

    So there isn't a gasket between the oil pump and the mating surface?

    • @QuickSpeedShop
      @QuickSpeedShop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, there is a paper gasket visible at the 9 min mark.

    both sprockets should be knocked on together. mine wasnt that difficult to put on 3yrs ago when I did it with the engine in the vehicle.

    I'm sure you'll be doing the rear main seal as well. If it aint leaking now Murphy's law
    says it will be eventually.

    • @QuickSpeedShop

      I did it in this video right before the oil pump.

      Don't need to be an engine builder to freshen up used engines that will run for another 100k with replacement of a few parts.
