      Yes. Adults are already starting to sue their parents for sharing their images and identity without consent. It deprives the child of their autonomy to make that decision for themselves when they are old enough to give informed consent.

    I’m currently STILL breastfeeding my 1 year old. She’ll be 2 in august and I absolutely can’t stand it anymore. I breastfed all my kids (4) but they all stopped after 4-6 months and took the bottle. This baby will NOT take a bottle: the girl eats food all day, can drink out a water bottle but still wants my boob. I’m seriously tired of it. Breastfeeding the 5 year old is weird! The only pro about still breastfeeding her is she has an amazing immune system. Everyone in my house had the flu, including me. But my breastfeeding baby didn’t get sick., at all

    The biggest concern would evaluate what the long term psychological impact would be for the child. It is known that at the core of a malignant narcissist and psychopaths history is the narcissistic injury caused by the relationship with a mother. Every well known psychopath has a direct negative relationship with their mother. Whether they were unloved, abused, neglected, over loved, coddled, etc. When you take this extended breastfeeding to the extreme, the analysis should include what that long term impact would be for a young boy, growing into a man. What would his dependency then need to be onto future relationships? The fact this mother even indicates there is sexual gratification she gets out of breastfeeding puts these concerns in the spotlight. It is the responsibility of a mother to provide balance and boundaries. There are red flags being ignored and even defended.

      @LisaKayOGQ, to imply that formula coming out of a bottle is on a nutritional par with breast milk advertises your colossal ignorance. Breast milk contains protective antibodies and nutritional elements tailored to the individual needs of the nursing child. Hormones released during lactation are scientifically shown to decrease aggressive behavior in the mother in any species. Those same hormones promote bonding and protective behavior in the mother. Breast feeding is about so much more than nutrition…for however long it continues.

    I’m still nursing my 2.5 year old 🤷🏼‍♀️ Historically and globally speaking normal weaning happens between 2-5 years old. It’s just not as common in our culture but very biologically normal.

She's gonna keep switching what "type" of parenting she "identifies" with because she needs to make sure shes being praised for what she's doing. She wants those kids as dependent on her for as long as possible,they dont even go to school. The 5 yr olds speech is way behind. She also slips up and states she breastfeeds because shes too lazy to wash dishes. You can tell in the old videos where that woman starts falling off the wagon. Also,she needs to stop abusing animals. Take that metal collar off that poor dog and put it on her, im curious how happy she'll be having that dig into her windpipe.

    Edit: I mean she is a good mom and I’ve got no issues with her parenting but 5 is too old to breastfeed! They need nutrients from the rest of their diet and they have a strong enough immune system to be able to withstand illness. There are no nutritional benefits from breastfeeding at that age.

    I've heard of moms breastfeeding until 4 yrs old, but not much on older kids. You shouldn't be letting your kids decide when they're done nursing. It's possible they won't want to quit. You should consult a Pediatric behavioralist or Pediatric psychologist that also specializes with homeopathic methods and see what they feel medically is the best choice where you aren't damaging their psyche over later on saying omg I nursed on my mother in the 1st grade, or whenever. They could get bullied or suffer some kind of emotional repercussion from your decision because they didn't have the capacity to make better judgment at their ages. That's why parents have to do not only what's best for them but also take into consideration their future thoughts.

    • @bobalijon
      @bobalijon 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      And before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm all for breastfeeding, and I breastfed my 3 children. However, I also decided to stop when they started playing with other kids, running on the playground, etc, start of preschool. I consulted with a couple advocates as well as a child development specialist and my kids pediatrician (she was very knowledgeable on breastfeeding practices and encouraged it) before making any decisions. It's always helpful to gain as much knowledge before personal decisions so you can prepare their future best without harm.

  • @coyotedust
    @coyotedust 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    For an older child breastfeeding isn't about the milk. Older children will even dry-nurse if their mother allows them. So why do it? Why breastfeed a child that doesn't need the milk? It's an emotional need or comfort on the part of the mother and the child. The most common reason for mothers is to calm the child down and comfort them. Some mothers find that some children need to "wind-down" before a nap, or going to bed. Breastfeeding gives them that emotional bonding time to relax and prepare for rest. The child is calmer and the transition to nap and bedtime are smoother. Sometimes mothers find it a way to comfort a child after a painful fall, or separation anxiety when the mother returns from a visit or work. It also provides security and safety for children going through difficult times perhaps a divorce or a move of address or different school. That snuggle time provides comfort and peace. It provides that bonding time especially for working mothers to reconnect with their child in the most intimate way possible. *It's basically the KID'S EQUIVELENT OF A BUBBLE BATH, GLASS OF WINE, & A GOOD BOOK.

    • @coyotedust
      @coyotedust 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Emotional attachment. There's such a thing as a child holding the mother's breasts hostages. It's not abnormal for older toddlers and children to want their mother's breasts all for themselves. What a better way to commandeer all of your mother's attention body and soul, than by nursing on her breast? Children are always craving a mother's attention, and having to share it is difficult. So breastfeeding becomes a tool to manipulate a child's time with their mother when she is busy with the rest of the family, or doing other things. It can create problems with the child getting aggressive and demanding with their mother over breastfeeding, to where it's not enjoyable for the mother anymore, but only the child. * The child then becomes in charge of the daily schedule, and the mother "gives in" for peace to comfort the child by breast feeding. Unfortunately, this blackmailing of breasts becomes a burden for the mother, and the only one enjoying nursing is the child. The child shouldn't dictate when or where to breastfeed or how many times. It's not a nutritional requirement, but an emotional comfort. *Now, I'm not saying the child isn't receiving benefit from the breast milk, but the breast milk isn't a nutritional requirement that she/he needs outside of their daily diet . The other concern is jealousy. Toddlers or the first child naturally get jealous of the new baby in the family. So tandem breast feeding is an alternative for both children to breastfeed at the same time. However, even during tandem breast feeding a baby and older child can have conflicts with jealousy and trying to "own" mother's breasts. This usually occurs with the older child as they're not their to nurse out of hunger, but nurse out of comfort.

    I do find it odd, I wouldn’t want to continue breastfeeding that long. But whatever, they’re her kids and she can do whatever she wants. I don’t think the nursing itself is inherently harmful to the children.
    However, I am bothered by her putting it on the internet for everyone to see. It’s a private matter, and those kids have no way to understand or consent to it being shared.
    The internet is FOREVER.
    To have the time and money to be able to sleep in, stay home, nurse whenever you want in your big comfy chair is a huge privilege. Many, if not most, women don’t get the luxury of breastfeeding for even the first year because they have to go to work!
    That she’s decided this needs to be shared with the world, gives a very self centered vibe. A bit of a smug, look at me and my amazing earth mother life. I’m so pure and wonderful!
    I don’t believe it is being shared to encourage others to do the same and extend their breastfeeding time, but instead is looking for attention and praise. And presumably her social media presence earns money. That’s exploitation if the kids are the content.
    Raise your children however you see fit, it’s not my business. But keep your business to yourself. Kids deserve an anonymous childhood.

It’s almost as bad as letting your 5 year still wear diapers unless they’re have special needs that make it hard for them to become fully potty trained sooner. No hate I just find it very odd. Especially when the 5 year old is perfectly capable of drinking milk from a cup and eating normal food. I find it odd for the both of them but the older one especially. There’s a reason that people say, you’re too old for this and it rings true here as well.

    So, there are mothers who do this and seem absurd. The jokes about dishes, sure, but at the end of the day? Charlotte is the first extended breast feeding mom who had made the choice make sense to me. As someone who will never breastfeed even if I have kids, I think what a mother does in terms of how long they breastfeed or if they even do, really doesn’t matter as much as people like to make it.
    Her kids will slow down, they’ll stop eventually. My niece was breastfed for two years but still did it on and off for comfort until she was 3 1/2. She’s an amazing kid. The idea that a child would choose to breastfeed until college is absurd. With my niece the more she wanted to spend time with cousins and friends, the less she wanted to breastfeed. Similarly, as she became more independent and confident, she breastfed less, too.
    Let parents comfort their kids. They’re eating, so it isn’t as though they’re lacking in nutrients.

    I haven’t finished this yet. I tandem breastfed for little longer than this. I don’t have attachment issues. Never was weird at all it’s very very natural and my children never once thought was anything but comforting. I went insane last few thought bc I was very much over it by that time because that’s a long long time. I think it’s weird this video fits in between some actually strange videos it’s sad to think something that is so natural and beautiful. I never regret my decision and it didn’t negatively effect my children or our relationship….

      Its okay, in the rural, most kids stop breastfeed later compare in town. People in town tends to ridicule everything because they are trying to guilt trip something they can't done. It's sad we hope for freedom in choice but judged instead. For me as long as it doesn't bring harm or hurt people around, it's fine

    What happens to the colostrum that a newborn needs? Wouldn't the older child get that before the newborn manages to? Do mothers have to stop feeding their older child for a while after birth so the new baby can have those first important newborn colostrum feeds?

    On one hand I say, do what works for you. But on the other hand, your kids, when they are in school, they WILL, unfortunately, be bullied without mercy. If you’re planning on homeschooling through 12th grade though, i don’t see a problem with it.
    I seriously hope you plan to homeschool. Otherwise those bullies already have WAAAAY too much ammunition to devastate your children with all the videos you are posting. I would never have put my children on the internet with such private content, because I would be ignoring the extremely high chance that they would never agree to it. I totally understand what you’re saying and doing, because ONLY a mother knows what is right and healthy for her children, but thinking about the long term emotional, and mental health of posting this type of videos…that’s where I can’t agree, because of the potential for emotional distress.

    Honestly, I literally thought women usually stop lactating milk 1 year after the birth? Because usually the child is completely onto soft solid foods by the time they turn 1 year.

      They shouldn't be though. You can thank industrialized parenting for that. Food before 1 is just for fun and can be detrimental to the natural gut of not feeding the proper foods to begin with.

    • @JaCoCop
      @JaCoCop 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Nope, women will lactate as long as the child is being nursed. There are zero benefits to allowing this to happen beyond about a year old.

    I have an open mind and I support breast feeding.
    Anyway, breast feeding has no negative impact for anyone, so if someone does not like it, (s)he does not have to watch it. Everyone should organize theit life.
    However, I have a feeling that many people just want to get more attention making self-advertisement.
    So, as long as it good for children, why not..? But please do not force it for mother's popularity.
