On DECT 6.0 Plus models up until 2014, unless the base has a display and menu, the only way to turn it off is by completely lowering the volume while using the answering system.
Does the cellphone have to be in range of the Base Unit or the Handset? I'm asking coz my Base unit would be in a closet next to phone jack and the handsets would be in the rooms.

I don't know when this was manufactured (I'm guessing 5 or 6 years ago) but in case you don't know Panasonic changed the ringtone on some of the newer models like mine, but the base unit uses the classic Panasonic ringtone
That's a reasonable guess.. Panasonic has been changing the ringtones on the handsets quite a bit, but somehow that classic ringtone is still surviving on the base units..
It was released in 2012, so work on it probably started in 2011 after the KX-TG76xx was released. If the time is not set, and you enter the date and time setting, the displayed default year is the release year. I have no idea why it defaults to 12/31 though because it's released before then. 1/1 would make more sense because the actual release comes after that date.
I have a set of newer Panasonic phones and the bluetooth reception on them is terrible. It kept disconnecting and reconnecting. They were pretty cheap so you get what you pay for I guess.
I've have not experienced an issue with disconnections, but I have noticed the Bluetooth reception range and sound quality is quite poor compared to other sets.. These retailed for over $100 when they were new; I don't consider that cheap..
Yes. There's also the ability to pair a Bluetooth headset, although you can't have someone talking on the Bluetooth headset and base speakerphone at once.

I gave my 3 set of those to my grandma. The cell reception was surprisingly crystal clear. I’m getting her old RadioShack set

The model number of the answering system-compatible Link2Cell is KX-TH111 (1 line) or KX-TH112 (2-line).
I've never recommended a landline phone to someone who doesn't use a landline.

I don’t have one out right now to peruse through the settings, but I suspect there is.
