I had a few back in the day and bought some of the Fallout ration ammo cans he put out. Those were actually really cool. Thank yo u for watching and commenting!
The MRE for pilots is called "РПЭСВ" - one of the special features = two a small package of 200ml tetra pack of juice and 3 main dishes - in the first menu are borscht soup + rice with beef + meat with green peas and carrots, or in the second menu, pickle soup + buckwheat porridge with meat + vegetable stew with beef... Also, both of these menus contain a large package of hot tomato sauce + just like regular MREs, they contain small canned goods such as pate, cheese, vegetables, 2 - tea, 2 - coffee, condensed milk and 5 packages of crackers and so on... The MRE in this video = this is a one-time ration for naval aviation, so there's no cracker in it, there's always bread on the ship, but if the pilot arrives at night, there may not be any regular food prepared, and then he just takes some bread from the kitchen and uses the this small MRE for 1 meal ... The main dish in the MRE in the video has a name "Макароны по-флотски = Navy-style pasta", this dish (pasta with minced meat, or pasta with stew) very popular with Russian sailors since about 1850, there was even a mutiny because of them once - on October 19, 1915 on the battleship Gangut. The reason for the mutiny was the when after completing the physically difficult work of loading coal onto the ship, instead of the macaroni and meat they were supposed to eat, the sailors were offered barley porridge...
WOW! Thank you for the description and the clarification! That makes a lot more sense in the context you provided. Awesome comment! Thank you for watching and for the awesome comment!
Helos and even jets may have forward deployed temporary marshal matting fields might even be a MCALF(Marine Corps Auxiliary Landing Field)They usually don’t have field kitchens and use fuel bladders and very limited support basically fuel and ammo. Meals are MREs I have been attached to units like this. One example is Bogue Field NC though it’s more of a training area but still very primitive well it was in the 80s. Usually the food pilots have for being downed are survival ratios much smaller and compact not much room in a fighter, helos have better chance of having a ration like that onboard. Great review.
Thank you James. All fair points! But then why have a ration that is specific to a pilot? They would just carry normal 24 and 8 hour rations. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Truth be told pilots don’t want to be over stuffed with food, no place to go in a cockpit. Fighter jocks wear G Suits that compress your legs and stomach so smaller lighter meals you don’t want gastrointestinal issues. I was an Aviation Med Tech early in my career and pilots have certain foods that suit them best. Plus sealed bags don’t do well if pressure is lost. The box is better suited won’t expand or contract as much. G-suits and Pressure: On high-G maneuvers, pilots may experience difficulty eating due to the physical demands placed on them, so they may avoid heavy meals before flights. Thus it might be easier for the Russian supply people to have distinct packages for rapid deployment.
Pilots ration might be for the guys at airfields that are within drone and missile range. Never knowing when they are going to have to scramble out and not knowing what airfield they're going to end up at, some rationa might really come in handy. Possibly also for helicopter pilots having to operate multiple or long missions or operating from auster locations without facilities.
I knew some of the history. The fact that he had a subscription for a monthly ration always made me raise an eyebrow! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I know that he was a retired Marine. That was why I trusted him and bought all the rations from him even when he was not shipping them. The only good thing about it was that he was literally living less than a hour south of me. I spoke to him on the phone numerous times about his not shipping what I bought and that I would drive there to get them or file charges against him. I received everything within five days of that conversation. On the phone he seems like a very honest person who just in over his head. Then I found out that this was his third company and he had did the same thing. I am disabled veteran who served for 25 years and try to buy from veteran owned businesses.
@@lawrencehubbard2985 Sir, thank you for your service! I actually spoke to him on the phone once as well and he certainly gave off the nice guy vibe. It is a shame that he kind of evaporated on so many people like that. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@RationNerd On the phone talking with him he seems like he really cares and wants to do the right things. When he give me his address and personal phone number I was like he wants to succeed in his business. He invited me down to see how he was making rations then Covid hit. He no longer answered his phone or emails. I know that he was in the hospital for Covid but when I go to the hospital for long periods of time I will take my phone and laptop so I can stay in touch with people. I feel sorry for the people who paid for something and didn’t get what they paid for. He is not the only person that has done that and I am sure that many others will do the same thing.
Thanks for the analysis! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
I think you need a New Age Preacher of the Unfettered Gender Non-Binary Sis-Trans-A-Morph Church, to make a formal introduction. Get their pronouns correct and then start a ritualized courtship process. Don't worry, this only takes a few days. But be warned! There will be hair dye, razors and a ton of inexplicable terminology.
It is certainly odd. It is a mix of squash and a generic vegetable flavor. But it really has a loose pumpkin pie consistency. My best advice is to try it if you get the opportunity. It is best on a cracker. Thank you for watching and commenting!
The Russian pilots ration, my guess is for strategic bomber pilots, makaron is not really a Russian thing, but it's there for energy density, the meat, is probably doktor sausage btw
Well, I have made a fair few connections in the short time I have been running this channel. But one of my main sources is cbouhapodu58 on EBAY. He gets a lot of great rations. They ship from inside the USA so no dirty customs getting their paws on them. Thank you for watching and commenting!
the reason they went out of bis is cos he didnt take on peoples criticism an feed back they kept getting told they say to add to much water to the freeze dried meals an it always turned out soupy
I think one of my first was a Russian mre. I would have to say, you get a lot for your money. Mine you, it not exactly the best. But eatable. That's one thing I have not tried is a minataur. That one there is a sugar bomb. Great double feature. Love a 2 for 1. Excellent review brother.❤😎
Brilliant as always hun :)

Pasta is easy to MRE.... My favorite US ones were from the 90s. Russia is just a 3rd world trying to be 1st.
I think pasta is one of my least favorite retort mains. I guess it depends on where it comes from.
