Grats that you found a genuine German MRE, theres a infamous German Company out on Ebay and Amazon that sells EPA Style Packs. Very similar to a genuine EPA but with only one Main Dish and the rest of the Items are off the Shelf from German Grocery Stores. I personally prefer the "Old" wet Style EPA, with the Canned Rye Bread, Pate and Jam .... 'Greetings from Germany
Thank you for the comment! I have had other wet packed German rations. This is the first one I filmed for the channel. I have another German wet packed ration I will be reviewing in the future. Thank you for watching! Greetings from the USA!
Very cool friend. These are awesome, at least the old style was, when semi fresh. In my top 2 rations, I would hate to decide between it, CR1M, so close. Your ration looks good, all meals and components. Jerky odor was strong? Sesame bars tend to melt together, but friend, they taste awesome. They work on your teeth however, LOL. That old EMP, is what I have tried. You seemed to enjoy most components in your meal. That is always A bonus Amigo. Some were texturally challenging, that I understand. Another bonus, you got to try some different food. I hope you had some fun at least. Peace from Ky. John. P.S., I miss the old-style rye bread in the tins, LOL.
Great review! Beef Stroganoff is actually Russian and it is a salty/mustard seasoned dish of beef and rice and oats. No mushrooms, vegetables or noodles. Named after the Strogonov family I think it was the French who added noodles and mushrooms. My dad’s father side were from eastern Poland and that’s how they made it. And yes I agree with you I was like this is boring salty and bland. Again great review and glad you had good coffee.
I didn’t realize this was a freeze dried ration. I’ve never tried one of those, only the MREs with normal, non-freeze dried food. Those ones are good. And have even more items in them including tons of pates.
No, I just use the mic on the camera. I am pretty tech-tarded....I own a microphone, but have not been able to get it set up right. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I have always wanted it to be about the rations and not about me. But I did do a couple of podcasts with UK Urban Prepper where you can see my ugly mug...LOL!
Wow, no patte? Man, you got to love the drinks in this one. Too bad the mains were shit. Are the wet better tasting? The drinks reminds me of the Dutch ration.I'd love to have one of those. Great review brother.❤😎
The German wet pack rations are way better IMO. These mains were kinda garbage. Thank you for watching and commenting and the continued support my friend!
I agree 100%! For me the tea was more of a cold drink option. At least the coffee was decently strong for a spray dry! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I guess they figure if you're really hungry you wont care what your eating. Those sesame bars might have offset the strokinoff if you would have broken them up in there. I've had American MREs and I like them for the most part.
I just don't like the crazy amount of chemicals and sugar they pack into them. They have a great shelf life, but when there are as many chemicals as food in something......
Calling Star Bucks anything less than sewer water is laughable to the rest of the world. Australia was the first country they failed in, the Euro counties started kicking them, Italy, France Germany, Belgium are in the process of doing it. Asian countries are following too. We don't like it the over priced muddy water. Australia has the biggest coffee culture in the world, if it's not fresh beans roasted within 24hr ago, fresh ground within 1hr. We don't want it. We will watch you grind them beans to make sure by law the roast date has to be shown when asked.
That is amazing! I absolutely detest Starbucks! That is why I called them the foo foo coffee joint! LOL. They are way too expensive and full of garbage. There are some small coffee distributors locally where I can get fresh roasted coffee. But most of us suffer with the pre-packed stuff! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Always funny that you US guys thinks its high quality stuff in our German rations or generally european ones. Honestly they are not bad, but they are not good ether. Most of the components are the cheapest you can get. Mains are mostly ok but often boring. Drinks are boring except the tropical drink. Tea is discusting. Orifo stuff is usually bad, the choclate is the cheapest stuff you can get and the coffee is really bad for our standards. Cappuccino is ok. Fruitstuff is ok but boring. The desert creames are usually bad. All in all its always the same stuff with minimal variety. Even the older ones with the canned bread arnt that good. Bread is bad, jelly the cheapest you can get, sausages and patés are ok, but cheap... but its always the same stuff. They are getting a littlebit better nowerdays, but they are still not good. I have tryed a lot of rations over the years and think the norwegan and swedish rations are the best in quallity and taste. followed by dutch and brittish, than french. The US ones are poor in quality but are a far better moral booster than any other ration. Here and there you can find a good ration from other countrys but most of them have the same problem... Not enought variety. Most countrys have only a couple of diffrent rations. And that is bad for the moral when you have to eat them for a long time. Also you can be creative and improvise a lot with the stuff in a US MRE... you can mix your crackers in your spaghettis, put cheese over it and dump that mix in a taco for example... you cant get that creative with most other countrys rations... There is a reason why nearly every ISAF soldier wanted to trade his countrys ration for a US ration... Greetings from a fellow german ration nerd.
WOW! You seem to feel the same way that I do about US MRE's. Maybe different is just better. Though the quality of food in most European rations, far exceeds that of the US MRE. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@RationNerd dont get me wrong. The european ones are far better than the US ones in terms of quality. But for european standards most of them are the cheapest stuff. The one thing US MREs did better in my opinion is the variety and that you get new meals every other year. Yes your food is cheap, hightly processed, full of chemicals and artificial, but is is also mostly wholsome and moral boosting. Most nations look more on nutrition and not on the moral side.
@@PyromanicPunk Agreed. But I am surprised that you think a US MRE is a morale boost. I think it is just different and exciting the way other military rations are to me!

@@RationNerd , I try my best, when caught up, LOL.
Nice supply of drinks in this one and some half decent coffee. Shame about the mains. Great review RN. Thank you.
Thank you Faith! I really appreciate the support!

Thank you James! I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!
I like the modern French style of stroganoff much better than the original recipe!
I didn’t realize this was a freeze dried ration. I’ve never tried one of those, only the MREs with normal, non-freeze dried food. Those ones are good. And have even more items in them including tons of pates.
It was fun to check out this freeze dried ration! But those mains were rough. I still had a good time with it!

Nice video! Too bad the curry main didn’t hit the mark. Thanks for sharing!!!
Yes sir! Thanks for giving it a watch! That curry main was awful!
I havent had a German ration in a long while. Last one i had was the temporary bagged version, thanks for showing
Thank you for watching Viper!!!!
Cheer up it Could have been a tuna main lol hugs from uk
ROFL! You are correct! It could have been freeze dried fish!
Hugs right back!
Question to RN.. Do you have a microphone other than the one on your camera?? Audio is very hollow. May want to get one if you don’t.

If it's strokin off you better keep the jimmy hat so things don't get messy
ROFLMAO!
Nice

Beef strokin-off 😂😂😂
People are different, but I would prefer more coffee than tea in my ration. 2 T's are great, but I'd need at least 2x coffee.

Tang, you ever try prune tang? I'm telling you it's the best. I like it better than coffee. Just sayin
Prune Tang????? Never. But I would try it!
@RationNerd I tell my wife all the time. I sure could use some sweet prune tang.🤗😎❤
I tried German once and realized that I don't want it anymore. I didn't like it very much. And besides, they often send expired rations.
The ration game is full of expired rations. I feel your pain! Try my guy on EBAY. His stuff is in date and in the USA!
Great ration.
Thank you sir!!!!
Lol. That bone......
Thanks!
