The food in NOLA is phenomenal wherever you go. There is no such thing as mediocre food there. It's the one vacation destination where I would return JUST TO EAT MORE FOOD!!
The term "roast beef debris" refers to roast beef that is cooked to the point where the beef ends up as crumbs, strands, and small chunks of beef as opposed to distinct slices of beef. It may not sound like a favorable term, but it's very delicious because it holds onto the juices like a sponge and it's extremely tender.
Please make playlists for your videos (from oldest to newest) categorized by location i.e. Las Vegas, NYC, LA, NOLA, etc. so I can binge watch all your videos and lay around eating chips off my chest. Thank you!

NOLA is on my bucket list!! You two seem to be seasoned travelers to NOLA. I would love to see a Q&A on all about NOLA. When is the best time to go? Is a car needed? Top places to eat/see. How long of a trip is ideal? Where to stay?....my list can go on and on😅
I can answer a couple of those. DONT go June-Sept. The heat and humidity is awful and will ruin the fun, you dont really need a car and i think 3 nights is just about right.
Go in February when it's Mardi Gras! Most of us locals head out of town while travelers come in for Mardi Gras now haha. New Orleans is a city like no other - it's hard to describe but it's one of a kind.
Most people drive here, but the streets can be difficult and parking is a bitch, unless you want to pay. I know how I get trying to navigate strange cities, and N.O. would frustrate me for sure.
@@GiaBlinks We always drive over from Texas, the streets are pothole filled for sure but we have never had too much difficulty finding a parking spot and
usually for free, maybe we are just lucky.
The more traditional gumbo prepared by my NOLA family has always been of a thinner consistency than the thick roux versions you see in some local restaurants.

Love NOLA!! We do a tour there every few years where some of our singers perform at the cutting edge conference. I was a speaker there a few years ago!

When we went a few yeas ago we had beignets at Cafe Du Monde and some of them were a little doughy. Jackson Square was so pretty. I hated the humidity, ugh. I don't remember where we ate but one place had delicious seafood and a lunch counter. We stopped at the muffaletta place but they were sold out? The Italian restaurant at the end of that mall had delicious food.
Sounds like you guys need to go back to NOLA. lol. Always new places to try!

That gumbo looks excellent! My family is from Louisiana and the only place I’ve ever had thicker gumbo was at a restaurant. The thinner, soupier, is definitely more traditional and homestyle. I love it.

You guys sure packed in a lot this visit. So sad about K Pauls, best étoufée I've ever had (great roux, so rich)! Crawdads 😋😋😋, especially the heads (luv Cajun Seafood & Bevi Seafood when crawdads are in-season)

This episode reminds of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland! This is one of best NOLA vlogs to date, my true fav is when less dropped the iPhone while tipsy & filming 🥴 I’m hoping to experience this city this year & definitely leave my kid at home for that vacation lol Bourbon st is something else!

My mom and I visited Chef K Paul’s restaurant on October 7, 2015. We were so excited as he was our favorite celebrity Chef! We sat on the upstairs balcony overlooking the (Church)? We had the best meal and commented several times that this was why people loved New Orleans.
It was strange, only because I am usually adamant about an inside table. I hate outside dinning, except occasionally in Hawaii. But the food was really wonderful and my mom and I talked about Chef K Paul and wether we should buy his seasoning! After a bottle of sparkling wine and a fantastic dinner, we decided not to ruin any memory with our cooking and K Paul’s spices.
The next morning while showering and getting ready for Cafe DuMonde, my mom and I heard of Chef K Paul’s death! It was shocking. My mom and I cheersed to him at the carousel bar that night, knowing he’d spent one more evening making our night special!!!

You guys had the ultimate NOLA trip, it all looks great 😍 Thx for doing the room tour looks like a good option, looks nice.... I did use that app for a LV stay months back & it was not a pleasant experience, a good deal but it booked the same stay period twice which resulted in 2 rooms & didn’t want to refund us the overbooking :/
Sorry to hear. Their customer service is usually pretty good too. Something happened to us a while back where they didn't refund us, but gave credit to our account, which was fine since we use that app pretty often.
I would kill for a Parkway Roast Beef & Barq’s right now!!! P.S. One of our favorite Po’ Boy spots in NOLA is Erin Rose! They also have delicious frozen Irish coffees! ☘️ ☕️😋
We've been to Erin Rose too! Kitchen in the back, right? Haven't tried their frozen Irish coffee yet, almost ordered one this past trip. Next time!
@@billandlisa Yes! It’s in the back, though, I think there may be (or used to be) an additional location somewhere? Their frozen coffees are always on our NOLA drinks-bucket-list! Also, absinthe frappes at the Old Absinthe House, a Ramos Gin Fizz at Empire’s, Pimm’s Cup at Napoleon’s, and a French 75 at Arnaud’s!
Were you able to try the Beignet's at Morning Call, in my opinion, they're better than Cafe Beignet, that's Emeril Lagasse's favorite spot for Beignet's
Haven't tried them, just got the hot chocolate. Next time!
