Amen!!!!! Wouldn’t change my life for anything. Born in 1971. Grew up in the 1980’s/1990’s. No cell phones, social networking, internet and it was wonderful. Wish my kids could have experienced it. Playing outside with your friends until dark with no phones to disrupt your fun. Going to concerts, getting your license at 16 and cruising around on the weekends. Partying with your friends on beach trips . Everything was so much better than it is now. Damn, if I had a time machine.........

I'll always have fond memories of playing outside until dark, but it was almost a seamless transition from that to video games and more indoor based activities. I could be biased because it's how my life played out, but I feel like it was meant to happen in some ways. We all evolve and grow, much like your childhood was probably pretty different from your grandparents who were born in the early 1900's.

When you get my age you will start reminiscing about your younger days. You will miss family that aren’t here anymore ( my father, grandparents) friends you don’t see anymore, and time that you can never get back. Music really is like a time machine literally that can take you back to a certain time, a certain day and a certain memory that can bring tears to your eyes. Anyone who lives long enough will experience this. This is one reason music is so important to people

The invention of high speed internet and smartphones have forever changed the way kids will grow. Back then we caught frogs and went to roller rink parties and played freeze tag at recess. The internet wasn't common and it was so slow and you couldn't even use it when someone else is on the phone. Nobody at school had smartphones so we would have to be creative. Yeah then I got gameboy color and got pretty obsessed with that and we all moved towards video games and catching shows on tv more as we grew up. It isn't ever this weird looking down on gen z, I just realized that kids now don't know a world without instant access to all the information in the world at their fingertips. I'd be interested in seeing the effects of it down the line.

That's exactly why although I'm a GenZ I actually am a boomer at heart, grew up with my mom's generation music and being a music lover I choose the 60's to 80's music over modern digital production anytime. Not that digital sound doesn't have it's own good points, but to me it's not music. A reproduction of music, maybe, but not actual music. And the skill cannot even begin to be compared to that of instrument players and traditional composers with musical language and theory knowledge. Feels as if humanity lost one of the most precious arts... And it is sad

Honestly, as a Millenial (93) i wouldn't fight with GenZ. I love them. The only difference between us is really how much irony is in your memes, or coherence. My younger sister is a GenZ, my youngest sister is Gen Alpha and i appreciate that we three can live with vastly different experiences.
As an older 37 year old Millennial I view them as a younger sibling especially when they vent about their frustrations about society. I definitely feel their pain because all of the stuff they are frustrated about is the same stuff I'm frustrated about. I don't really find much friction between Millennials and Gen Z like the media wants it to be.

So the oldest boomers listened to some of the 1960s and 1970s music, and the youngest boomers (like my parents) listened to a lot of the 80s music with Gen X.

That's exactly why although I'm a GenZ I actually am a boomer at heart, grew up with my mom's generation music and being a music lover I choose the 60's to 80's music over modern digital production anytime. Not that digital sound doesn't have it's own good points, but to me it's not music. A reproduction of music, maybe, but not actual music. And the skill cannot even begin to be compared to that of instrument players and traditional composers with musical language and theory knowledge. Feels as if humanity lost one of the most precious arts... And it is sad

As an older 37 year old Millennial I view them as a younger sibling especially when they vent about their frustrations about society. I definitely feel their pain because all of the stuff they are frustrated about is the same stuff I'm frustrated about. I don't really find much friction between Millennials and Gen Z like the media wants it to be.

So the oldest boomers listened to some of the 1960s and 1970s music, and the youngest boomers (like my parents) listened to a lot of the 80s music with Gen X.

Or Empire Records, depending on which you prefer. I was born in 1983, so I'm an early Millennial or late Generation X, I suppose. Also, I liked some Grunge, lol.

I remember at school, my class mates used to say we were the last of the rocky/punky generation, & we never much liked the very different kids who were younger than us, it was obviously how there was such a divide in us & kids 2 years younger, but not with the kids many years older. Theres a name (that I have forgotten) for a micro generation from 78-84. It summed me up perfectly.
