    By far the best review on the internet. Other tours just open cupboards and tell us the fridge is a fridge without any criticism. I appreciate the honest opinion, your suggestions where things can be improved and where things work well from your sailing experience.
    Leopard should definitely hire you as a consultant.!!!
    When I win the lottery, this will be my boat and I'll happily hire you to teach me how to sail. (unless you want a cheap deck hand for a month before the lottery win) Keep making the videos, currently one of my favourites. To hold a viewers attention for over an hour better than some multi million pound films is a real talent.

      Endorsed by Igor Stropnik as a seal of quality is actually a really good idea. There is also no doubt that the Leopard 50 is a really nice catamaran. Unfortunately, I have to save up some money, but one day :)

    Nice episode Igor .We have had 2 friends with the Leopard 50. As you mentioned very heavy and not great in light winds. Those Lewmar winches are sadly only single speed. Lewmar is way cheaper than Harken so the factory fit the cheaper Lewmar winches and blocks. We loved our Leopard 40 but it was designed by Melvin & Morelli, that and the Leopard 46 which I still think were the best Leopards. Much lighter and sailed better. For example the newer Leopard 40 was more than 1500kgs heavier than the older M&M leopard 40. Same sail area 🙁. If we found a reasonably priced Leopard 46 we would have bought that at the time and not got our Catana47. But as we change out our Catana to suit ourselves it’s growing on us as far as interior goes. The sailing is great

    I took a leopard 46 from Curasao to Puerto Rico and on to Vitgin Islands.
    My complInts; this boat needs more hand rails, everywhere. You will never get up to the mast at sea, very dangerous. Square corners should be rounded in salon. We got soaked on the bridge many times. The seating up top is nice. The 46 was a death trap if you are on top. Nice for calm waters. Safety features missing for rough seas.

    I have zero knowledge about sailing hardware and electronics. Is there some reason why Raymarine and B&G use slow hardware? We have very fast cpu's in our pocket (newer iphones and high end Samsung phones) and in our tablets. Even faster CPU's in our laptops. Why do expensive boats then come with electronics that are slow?

    • @IgorStropnik
      @IgorStropnik  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is exactly what I am wondering 🤔 10 years old iphone is faster and more reliable and much cheaper. Ipad is few times cheaper than that plotter and much better and easy to replace. The answer is profit and monopol of somebody.

    Using both bow (port and stb) fully open there is no protection against hitting an object making a whole in the hull, other cat the bottom part is sealed, so in case of whole in the bottom the water flows all over. What do you think?

      I would appreciate more safety on most of cruising boats. Etap figured it out but unfortunately they are out of business. I think any A class ocean going vessel should be insubmersible to Etap standards which means boat has to be operational even with huge hole and taking water. Most of modern high production boats are a joke.

    Leopards are just party boats and need to be within helicopter rescue distance . Never take these boats offshore they are basically crap. Their quality control is basically non existent . All of these mass production cats are the same never take them into the southern latitudes . As usual with sailing yachts it is buyers beware…..

      😅😅😅 please tell us how they end up all around the world without a problem. We have seen many of these catamarans in very remote areas like the Tuamotus and remote Indonesia and they regularly sail from Capetown to Florida. Sorry they hurt your feelings!

      Leopards have documented over 8 million miles of ocean crossings. I know of a delivery skipper that has 52 Atlantic crossings and logged over 300,000nm on Leopards.
