Skip to the 9:00 mark to go straight to the list of bands! I'm listing the bands in reverse alphabetical order. I didn't realize this video would be so long. I had to stop recording after one hour because my camera's battery was about to die. That is totally my fault because I had neglected to charge it beforehand. I was only able to get through about one third of the bands I wanted to mention. When I get some more free time, I'll make a "part 2" of this video. If necessary, I'll also make a "part 3".
By the way. As you can probably tell, I used a different recording technique this time. It's kind of like an artificial stereo sound. My purpose for using this technique is to hopefully create a fuller sound. Please give me some honest feedback. I don't care if your feedback is positive or negative. I only desire to hear the truth. I need to know if this method of recording is effective for you. Thank you :)
The effect is crazy and a little mesmerizing
Omg! You're amazinggg! You deserve so many followers. Really loved this video, just the whole relaxed vibe is outstanding. Keep up the good work. The audio was just the best. You're really good at what you do, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Man , I know this is an old video but you're SO UNDERRATED !! Good Job!!
I love how this video sounds ! So much more relaxing ! Thank you !
Wow! It's fantastic, it makes your already resonant voice vibrate amazingly through headphones.
Back on form with this one Luke.
Great audio - Quality video. big thumbs up mate.
Thanks, man! :)
You just became my new favorite ASMR artist!
favorite new asmr channel, thank you!!
You're my new favourite asmrer. The audio makes me feel great and tingly. It's very unique too, with the echo. I really enjoy it because it sounds like you're talking in a large, quiet, empty space which is quite soothing to me. The BatCave kind of springs to mind, for some reason!
Isabella Buckingham Thank you, Isabella. I'll definitely use this technique again in the future. I'm now realizing that different people have different reactions to it, which I find exciting.
Can't wait for part 2!
The audio is amazing!!
Clicked on this for asmr (TesseracT shirt caught my attention), stayed for the dope music taste! Very cool shit dude, audio is super dense, not sure how I feel about it. Keep on slamming mane
Oh yes! TesseracT is amazing! Definitely one of my favorites.
Everyone, please give me feedback about the audio. If you hate it, let me know. If you love it, let me know. I tried a new recording method with the audio in this video, and I need if this method is or isn't worth using again. Thanks.
I liked the audio too. But as Asmr Tess said, your other videos are great as well so for me it doesn´t matter much which method you use ;)
I like the audio it sounds cool 👍👌
***** Thanks, Tess. I definitely won't overuse this one. I go back and forth between them :)
i like both methods.. what about you record some vids with both methods???
mb6ooo Thanks! I will do that :)
I saw Tesseract open for The Devin Townsend Project back before they put out their first full length (It was just their Concealing Fate EP, i believe), and it was honestly one of the best live performances I've seen. GREAT taste in music, man!
Oh! I also love Devin Townsend! I saw him when he played in concert with Strapping Young Lad. His performance was so perfect that it brought tears to my eyes!
Audio is fantastic!
Absolutely love that you mentioned Tesseract and Textures! So happy I subscribed, now you're definitely one of my favorite asmr artists!
+GoreGrl Hey!!! Yeah. I've seen Tesseract in concert twice already. They are AMAZING live!!! I haven't seen Textures live yet because they rarely come to America. I saw your cover of "Awake" from Textures. Guess what. That song is the first song I ever heard from Textures years ago, and it's what made me fall in love with that band :) Your singing voice is amazing too! I also see that you covered "Waffle" from Sevendust. That song is tied with my other favorite song from them named "Trust". You are very cool!
\m/
Oh man, I'm so jealous! Aww thank you so much, I really appreciate that! I stumbled upon a mix with Tesseract, so the first time I heard them was purely accidental but they've become one of my favorites ever since. After hearing them then Textures came about, then Karnivool and The Butterfly Effect followed them, so my music preferences just flourished haha! But I must thank my friend from As Silence Breaks he was really the catalyst to my now musical knowledge.
Love "Trust", I've always been a huge Sevendust fan. Got to see them a few years ago with Lacuna Coil and it was honestly thee best concert I've gone to so far. They have such incredible energy.
Thanks again, you made my day!
+GoreGrl WOW!!! I saw Sevendust on that same tour. It was my first time seeing them and Lacuna Coil, which is another band I love. I was trying to get close to the stage so that I could catch a drop of Cristina Scabbia's sweat! Haha! I'm in love with that woman. I saw them in Sauget, Illinois at a club named Pop's.
Me too, first time seeing both on that tour too! I totally understand haha, she was so awesome like getting the crowd involved and giving everyone high fives. I was able to make my way to the very front of the stage when Sevendust came on. Lajon Witherspoon leaned forward handed me a guitar pick then winked at me, I totally melted haha! It was one of thee best experiences of my life!
+GoreGrl Ah! You're so lucky! I tried to catch one of their picks or drumsticks, but I failed :'( You're right. It was an amazing concert.
hahahahaha I loved the rant. Great audio by the way! x
Thank you, Hopsfy! I'm glad you like it :)
This audio is amazing. Thanks for trying it😁
You're welcome, Richie. Thanks for the feedback.
You have the best taste in music, seriously and you know what is up instrumentally and everything!!! I am the vocalist in a metalcore band myself called In Solace, I focus on writing meaningful lyrics because I too hate bands that just scream/rap/sing about drugs and nothing meaningful! we have an album coming out too but what blew me away was your taste in music and how well I felt I related to your views and tastes with it all! the fact you are in the ASMR community blew me away! By the way, love this method of sound you used it is unlike anything I have ever heard and it was so relaxing!!
Oh yes! It's good that your lyrics have meaning. Your listeners will definitely have a higher appreciation for your style.
Heavy metal is my reason for living! ASMR is like a side dish for me, but I love it as well ;)
Thank you for the feedback too!!!
Love the audio sounds great 👌🏻 SUBSCRIBED👍🏻
+Bernice Trevino Thank you for subscribing, Bernice :)
the stereo sound is soooo great!!!!!!
Thank you :)
Love the audio in this vid :)
Thank you, Olivia. I'm glad you like it.
Great video, Luke :) Glad to hear you like Týr.. They're among my favourites too. I saw them live in June at a festival in Denmark called Copenhell, and they were awesome!! If they're not coming to USA, you must come to a concert here :D
Ah! You're so lucky! Ever since I've been listening to them, they've only come to America one time, and they were nowhere near my city :( Haha! If I had the money, I'd travel the world and see my favorite bands!
You have great music taste! Its nice to see fellow metalheads in the asmr community!
P.S. have you heard the new Fallujah album? Its awesome
***** Thanks, man! Hey, I just checked out the new Fallujah. It's not bad, but it's a little too chaotic for me. There's so much going on and there's so much speed that I'm unable to stay focused on it. They kind of remind me of a hyper version of The Faceless. They're super talented though. WOW :O
BlackMaleASMR Yeah it is definitely a sonic assault on the senses. But there is a surprising amount of beauty and melody intertwined. You should see them live if you ever get a chance!
Great taste in music and I love your voice.
By far one of the best asmr videos I listen.to.sound like u are in the same room as me.gave me the willies lol.awsome audio very soothing.
Haha! Thank you, Dean! I'm glad you like this one :)
I woke up when I heard Pantera.
Dude, TesseracT. YES. Also when you would hold up the phone to the camera (i'm only 30 minutes in) I saw Veil of Maya and Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza and that made me a very very happy young lad. I'm a lover of metal and also ASMR, you've got my subscription bud. Keep this shit up!!!! :D You'll probably get multiple comments from me tonight. Also, I saw Sunn O))). Awesome band
Haha! They are good bands as well. I don't remember when I started listening to Veil Of Maya, but I started listening to The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza back in 2006 :) Ah! Sunn O))) is the slowest band I've ever listened to. I'd love to see them in concert.
dude, Sunn O))) live is unreal. Any video footage can't do it justice.
I love your rants! Hahah
You should definetly use this audio again, its really soothing ^^
Glad to see Tool made your list but i do agree that Aenima is probably be the best thing they'll ever make. maybe the next album will be good (if we're still alive when it comes out)
Wow! You're actually the first person I know who agrees with me about Aenima being the best Tool album. I think they went downhill from there. They overused the 5/4 and 7/4 time signatures in their newer music, and it became too predictable and simplistic for me.
I love the audio and I really like the way you speak you make it very soothing. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm goin to get a pencil and take notes of the bands :)
Haha! Hopefully you'll find a few that you like :) Thanks for the feedback, Andres!
You have the most amazing voice! I love to Fall a sleep while listening...
Thank you so much, LillyCarla ;)
love this
It's fairly difficult to find a... black male in asmr community, and you're the best all the way! Deep relaxed voice just perfect when whispered.... Please keep them coming!!!
Wow i can't believe you have Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza!!!! One of my favorites of all time
Great sound I'm liking it a lot ☺👍
You mentioned you liked the folk aspect of Within Temptation. You should check out the Irish Folk Metal band, Waylander. Especially the song Born to the Fight, makes for a good foot tapping and head banging combo!
Where are my meatballs!?
Haha! I wish you could have seen the look on everyone's faces.
I don't care that his voice is edited it just it's amazing
Listed all my most loved bands too, have you heard the new Within The Ruins album that leaked? So good. Same goes for the new Volumes record.
Oh yes! I heard the new Within The Ruins album a few days ago. I told one of friends that it's a masterpiece! I haven't heard the full new album from Volumes yet, but I did heard a couple of the songs and I loved them. I'm sure I'll love the album too!
Love the sound and the commentary about your subway episode very funny. Are sure your not British? we Brits love a good rant lol. Thanks for posting a great video and so relaxing.
damn dude , your voice is amazing!
Thanks man :)
Your welcome
Finally an ASMRtist with my music taste. Favorite band (currently) is The Contortionist. You would probably like them. Very technical. Some other bands to check out are Make Them Suffer and Fallujah. One of my top tracks of all time is Sapphire by Fallujah. You should check them out. Subscribed!
Corey Tuccelli I'm not a big fan of Make Them Suffer, but I do like Fallujah and The Contortionist. I've seen The Contortionist twice in concert so far. Them guys are super cool!
your voice is great! good microphone)
couple months late but the audio is awesome
sounds great brother, its relaxing I feel like sleeping but u should write rythmic stories,I like it.I wanna try it. cheerz brother
I saw Animals as leaders open for Meshuggah on First Ave. In Minneapolis by far one of the best shows I've been to. If you like technical multi-layered stuff I would definately check out Animals As Leaders. Great audio btw
Thanks, Benny! I actually own the first two albums from Animals As Leaders. I don't like their third album. Tosin Abasi is one of my favorite guitarists. I'll definitely mention Animals As Leaders when I make it to the "A's".
holy crap i checked out vildhjarta and i was not disappointed. THere is no uninteresting point in any of their songs, you can tell they put a lot of effort in!
So true! I've been studying their song named "Dagger" for the past three years now, and I've only figured out the first 1:30 of the song. Vildhjarta has some of the most complex music in the history of humanity. They're so underrated.
Ive been listening to their album masstaden non stop for like 3 days, so complex and awesome
thanks for this vid bro! you introduced me to so many gnarly bands!
To be honest... At first I thought "nah, this can't be good. This kind of voice isn't good for ASMR" but now.... I am Really Sorry for ever thinking that! Your videos are great and super relaxing and I Love them!! Keep it up! You'll get far with videos including such high-quality!! I wish all good for you and your videos! :)
And if you want to try new? Bands i recommend Avenged Sevenfold and Shinedown :) I don't know if you like that kind of metal but they're both worth trying! I like many of the bands you mentioned but I have a really my own kind of music-taste and I like many different genres of music :P great video!
Puxu2 Hey, Puxu2! I'm glad that you actually gave this video a chance :) I'm even happier that you actually like it!
I'm not a big fan of Shinedown, but I love Avenged Sevenfold. I love Avenged Sevenfold's albums from "Waking The Fallen" until now :)
This was very different! And not bad as well. Just a little bit echoy but other than that it sounds awesome!!!
Smooooth
man! this recording method is sweet ! afaik its new...
I never thought my favorite ASMR'ist? would be a guy.. but you are by far my favorite! oh and the audio is great btw :)
I'm honored, DaphneBlue50s! That means a lot to me. Thank you for the feedback too :)
The sound of your voice makes me melt into sweet, sweet dreams. Love it, thank you :)
You're very welcome, Patricia ;)
OMG YOUR EYES ARE AMAZING :O I mean absolutely astounding
Thank you!!!
The new audio in my opinion is amazing besides the fact that i tried to leave the video and watch it later cuz i had stuff to do but i was paralyzed lol its great.
Haha! I hope you got all of your work accomplished :D Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for introducing me to Winds of Plague man
You're welcome. I saw them in concert a few years ago. They sound perfect live! They have great stage presence as well.
very nice audio! i think a balance between normal audio and this would be good!
Hey, love the stereo audio here. But may I ask how exactly you got this effect? Did you record the audio twice and then pan your two voice tracks hard left and right? Lol I highly doubt you would have done that ;) Did you use a plugin like Waves Doubler or some sort of stereo widener? Did you use some sort of delaying effect or trick to make a duplicated voice track slightly more delayed than the other and then pan them? Haha I'm just curious how you got one vocal take to sound dual- panned.
+Elisile Your third guess was correct. I recorded it once into a single track, then I copied and pasted that recording into a second track. After that, I dragged the second track forward by a few microseconds, then I added a little bit of reverberation to smooth things out.
BlackMaleASMR Thank you for clarifying :) I was able to pick up Waves Doubler for dirt cheap recently as part of a bundle due to cyber week deals, so hopefully it will work out well. There is a free plugin (I can't remember what it's called right now) which serves a similar purpose, and it's actually fairly damn good for freeware. I also have some metal songs on my channel if you want to check them out, including one where I try to mix metal with chillstep (not sure how well it turned out though lol.) The rest are pretty good though haha.
+Elisile I just checked out a few of the songs. Your audio quality is great. Keep at it, man.
BlackMaleASMR Thank you :) The mix for the chillstep one was kinda shit since it was experimental, but whatever lol. I've been working hard at learning how to mix over the last year, so hopefully some of that is starting to pay off haha. I'm not sure if you checked out "Beautiful You", but it probably has the best audio quality of anything I've released yet. Thank you for watching :)
Interesting sound. Sounds like a few ms delay on one side + a slight reverb? Definitely a more present sound, but obviously not the most natural-sounding. Doesn't bother me but a liiiittle distracting.
DEFTONES!!!!!!
My favorite bands are Asking Alexandria, BearTooth, Chelsea Grin, Issues, I See Stars, Oceano, Slaves, We Came As Romans, Like Moths To Flames, Get Scared, Bring Me The Horizon, Chunk! No Captain Chunk, Crown The Empire, Memphis May Fire, Oceans Ate Alaska, August Burns Red, A Day To Remember, Emmure, Ice Nine Kills, The Devil Wears Prada, For Today.
AA and Chelsea Grin are really good I personally grew out of them especially AA after they got a new singer
Oof
nice video and btw do you like Wintersun?
+Jari The Sauna Lover I love Wintersun! I actually found out about them 2 years ago when someone left a comment about that band under this very video :D Wintersun is way too underrated.
BlackMaleASMR yea indeed i can't wait for their next album it's gonna be epic as hell.
Can't say I'm really into metal (I don't get it to be honest lol) but I like learning about new artists.
MrSincerity88 what do you not get about it. It's music just different from everything else
dam u were feelin good on this one huh. i can feel the electricity . rollin on a bean
My favorites are
Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Agonist (pre Vicki), Arch Enemy, Blind Ivy, Jinjer, Infected Rain, Against the Current, Motionless in White, A Perfect Circle, The Beatles, Veil of Maya, In This Moment, Butcher Babies (don't hate me), Mod Sun, Breaking Benjamin, Flyleaf, Lacey Sturm, Mayday Parade, Pantera, Pink Floyd, Crown the Empire, and Tool.
All those bands suck except pantera and Arch enemy
@metalhead 666 The Agonist, Veil of Maya, and Jinjer would all like to have a word with you
The audio works for me! Kind of mesmerizing in a way. So yup, thumbs up! Or should I say 'horns up'? ;)
And I love you for loving Textures! Awesome! They're friends of mine, we go all the way back to 2000. So good to hear they're appreciated across the big pond! :D
***** Oh yes, girl! Horns up! \m/
I feel so bad though. For a few minutes in this video, I had Textures mistaken from Structures. I always get them two bands mixed up! When I first heard the song named "Awake", I immediately fell in love with Textures :) Thank you, Trisha!
You're welcome, dear sir! \m/
we have similarish taste in music. really relaxing video!
morningrise from opeth fuck yea! :)
oh yes baby
Hahaha she thought it was "Balls Lettuce and Tomato" sub! Lol. Audio sounds great!:)
Whaaaaaaaaat! Surprised you mentioned Týr. My father's cousin sings and plays guitar in that band (I'm Faroese).
Count Orlok WHAT? That is so cool! You're the first person I've ever met from that country. That singer/guitarist for Týr is phenomenal and far too underrated. It's unfortunate that more people haven't heard of Týr. They have such a unique sound.
Hah, I hear that a lot! ;-) Yeah, they're pretty good, but to become worldwide is ridiculously difficult if you're in the Faroes. Then again, what they have achieved, is more than most Faroese artists ever will, so there's that. Funny though, you see the guys in Týr every once in a while, walking their dog, buying groceries or drinking a beer in the local pub, and you think nothing of it, because they're just "another Faroese person"! :P
when he started to talk it scared me.... like I wasn't expecting it
The whole time I was thinking I can't wait until you say a band I like and then you said tool and I was like hell yeah! I don't really listen to them that much. I just really love sober and 46&2.
+TheJoshLP Forty-six & Two is the very first song I heard from Tool. That's what made me fall in love with the band.
Good bands and I love the stereo sound... but are your eyes purple, or is it just me?
I'm wearing purple lenses. You are correct :)
I just started watching your videos and love the way you perform asmr. My all time favorite band is" Three Days Grace" there former lead vocalist Adam Gontier has the best voice in my opinion. They don't have an album yet with the new vocalist and honestly I prefer Adam but he's not bad either. You should really check them out I think you'll like them.
Do you like the new vocals for Tesseract? If so, I may know a band to turn you on to.
Bob Dole I like both of the singers TesseracT used on their albums. They are both good matches in my opinion.
Tony danza Tapdance Extravaganza :D
I liked the technique you used, but as an Engineer I guess it is kind of simple... as a ASMR listener what one wants to listen is panning tingling sounds, that means what we want is to hear the sounds going from left to right and viceversa, this effect just made your voice sound more surround, but not that quite... maybe if you play a little bit with the Panning (Left-Right) you may get an enjoyable effect that can be greatly tingling, cheers man! Good video anyway I love your music taste :)
Thanks a lot! I actually do own a binaural microphone. I used it in my "mAS(MR)ochism" video, but I never used it again because I don't like its audio quality. I'll probably pull it out again someday. Thanks again :)
ASMR + handsome guy = Awesome!! I'm ur new fan :>
I would usually be quite concerned about a name like BlackMaleASMR because I would think 'Hmmm, that doesn't really reflect your personality, only your skin color, which doesn't reflect who you are, it just happens to be your skin color'. However, I do believe you are the only black male ASMRtist I've seen on TH-cam.
Also, great music taste: I'm not a fan of "Modern metal", but I love my Tesseract. You also mentioned some pretty obscure bands too, which I like to hear - just when I had the ego complex that I've heard of every metal band on the planet :'). Also, part 2 you mentioned Opeth, Metallica, and Pantera on this video - YIIIS!.
+gasmaskboi19371945 Hey! There are a few other black male ASMRtists on here, but I don't remember what their channel names are. TesseracT is super cool. I've seen them in concert twice :) Oh... How I miss Pantera :'(
BlackMaleASMR I know a guy who knows Ashle o'Hara.
+gasmaskboi19371945 Very cool! He was a great addition to the band.
Colin Brain You're good, man! That's exactly what I did!
The audio in this one is kind of strange it sounds like your speaking through a turned on fan or something like that BUT it also kind sounds rather coool I think :)
HOLY SHIT YOU LIKE PERIPHERY UGH. Sub-frickin-scribed. Periphery makes me happy.
Have you given wretched a listen? Their instrumentals are fucking insane dude.
They're very good, but I can't seem to get into them :(
blue eyeeeees
All the bands I listen to are the clash , stone roses and the Beatles
I love music and the one genre I love above all else is punk. My favorites are The Clash (all time favorite band. Period), The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Joy Division, blink-182, and Green Day.
The one band I would like to get into is Blondie because they were in the CBGB scene with the Ramones and I really enjoy some of their popular songs (Heart of Glass is easily my favorite song by them).
The clash are Fukin sound R.I.P Joe
+Billboz Amen to that
You should look up Nevalra. I think you'd like them. My friend showed them to me, his cousin is the bassist.
+TheJoshLP They're good, but not my style. Thank you for showing them to me though :)
+BlackMaleASMR :)
Oh and I love both Shadow Of the Colossus the band and the game hahaha
Who in the world could hate your voice!? Swoon...zZzZzZzZz
Have you ever heard of a band called "Softspoken"? They are so good, just softspeakin' here
I had never heard of them until I read your comment. I just checked them out. I can't get into them, but they're not bad. Just not my style. Thank you for telling me about them.
Nicely delivered and quite soothing. But I agree with some others here and prefer your voice without the effects.
Kilgore482 Thank you for the feedback. I'll definitely use my older method in some of my future videos. I'll go back and forth.
Hello,
You have an incredibly soothing voice. Could listen to you for ever. You've earned a sub from me.
try out a band called type o negative my all time favorite the heaviest goth metal mixed with a little thrash but melodic as fuck check em out they are amazing
I personally love Tool, i do agree 10000 days was extremely repetitive though i enjoyed a few songs off the album such as Right In Two. I prefer songs from Undertow like Sober and i believe 4 Degrees. I do enjoy Schism very much but i hate they play the same riff through the whole song
Favorites
1. Aerosmith
2. Gucci mane
3. Asap rocky
4. Travis scott
5. Migos
6. Guns n roses
7. Post malone
8. Lil wayne
9. 50 cent
10. The beatles
wow !!!! a gorgeous sound !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how do you do ????
+Natalia ASMR France Hey, Natalia! Someone else just asked me the same question :) Here is the answer. I recorded it once into a single track, then I copied and pasted that recording into a second track. After that, I dragged the second track forward by a few microseconds, then I added a little bit of reverberation to smooth things out.
+BlackMaleASMR Is that how Tricky does it? I wish he would do ASMR vids
+snowfort77 I don't know, man. I've never heard of him.
I think this Audio is cool and btw system of a down are sweet seen them a year ago ^.^
I like some of their older stuff. My favorite song from them is "Thetawaves".
He looks like he should be in mortal kombat
Sounds like something happened to the audio?
Yes sir. It was done with intent. I'm testing with a different recording method.
