The bumblee bees we have here frequently pass out due to lack of energy. They never sting when you pick them up, carry them into the house and give them a drink of honey or sugary water, then they walk around your hand before flying off to continue their mission. My kids and I have done this literally hundreds of times over the years. Lovely creatures.
@@sistersofbulgaria9396 WELL you gotta put yourself into the position of a bumblebee! They cruise around all day, foraging for nectar. Back and forth etc. Sometimes they overshoot! @@sistersofbulgaria9396 We had this problem with Hegdgehogs - which scientists say are at just 10% of what their population levels were in the 1970's. Bulgaria produces the best Mavrud, Malnik and ..................... SYRAH in the world ! Believe me as I am drinking bottles from 2008 of the best wineries in BG !!!!
Yes! I was in Melnik just last month but it was too hot to order wine. We stuck with beer 🍻😄. It sounds like you know your wines.. and wow 2008!! Amazing! 🤩 I will admit, I know nothing about Syrah. I’m definitely going to do some research and give it a try 🍷 🍇
Is this your final answer? I was going to say that the white is either a Dimyat or Rkatsiteli and the darker grapes are either Mavrud or Melnik but you may have nailed it with "very excellent, nice, different colors of grapes that is "fine", naturel and very testy.
Ooooo noooo 😊 These grapes are as sweet as honey. The ones from the store are sour because they are not ripe and rushed to grow with artificial chemicals. I wish I could send you some of our grapes so you can try 😋🍇
Oooo I LOVE Las Vegas 😍 We travel to Vegas often when I visit back home and it’s always a blast. The weather there is a bit warm over the summer and I’m surprised to hear it’s still so hot at this time of year 😮 but you guys have great winters! Nice and mild 🌏

The Bulgarian soil is full of treasures, and in addition to the honey from the hive, at least ten types of plants can grow. No wonder Laurie looks so fit and beautiful in a bikini.
I am in complete envy of the grapes ! I grow three varieties , purple ( no where near the size of yours ,) Green and a Rose or pink but all are smaller and the bundles you show are amazing ! ......Ahh yes the regrets of youth thinking what was will always be , to many traditions are lost with very few regained ............partially both sides fault , some never write down recopies etc and many never ask and so they disappear . ............Gonna have to search for a garden seed company from Bulgaria , always interested in trying new varieties pf veggies and flowers ....................Hope you're starting to feel better , best wish's and health ....

Those are some beautiful Grapes & Vegetables! I was wondering if your Parents & Grandparents were avid Buttermilk Fans? And what exactly is Bulgarian Buttermilk? I endured years of my Mom & Uncle one on either side of the dinner table. Cutting up yellow Onions & Jalapeños & Cornbread in their “Bulgarian Buttermilk”. Even made my Eyes burn! But they just loved it!
@@thatisme3thatisme38 I know they didn’t like the Low Fat variety it had to be the “Bulgarian Buttermilk”. And then an hour later they’d start complaining of their indigestion! I wonder if Buttermilk wasn’t their secret to longevity? Mom lived to be 95 despite having 4 children, 2 car wrecks , a broken Arm & Hernia surgery caused by a previous Hysterectomy which over time had allowed her intestines to move where her Uterus had been and kinked her intestines. We rushed her to the Emergency Room and they done Emergency Surgery and to solve the problem they took a hunk of Fat off of her Butt and sewed it in place to stop her intestines from going into that void. That all went fine until they transferred her from the Surgery Gurney to her Hospital Bed and either dropped her or a failed Closure and then had all her Guts come out in her lap! She said it was the most painful thing she ever felt in Her life! They rushed her back to surgery and stuffed them back in the best the Doctor could remember. Must’ve been right cause she lived 8 more years after that episode out working in her Garden and still Head Cook & Bottlewasher and doing the Bookkeeping here on the Farm. God I miss that tough old Woman!

Great question! The truthful answer is yes- from time to time. It’s almost impossible to care for crops without using sprays. Many people believe that “organic” means completely unsprayed but that’s the lie big companies want us all to believe. We don’t spray much and there are crops that don’t need it but the grapes, for example, do need spraying from time to time. Otherwise the bugs completely devour them. Thank you soooo much for the recovery wishes! It REALLY means a lot to me 😊. I’m much better. My chest still hurts but I am feeling better day by day. It’s always so good to hear from you! 😊🍇🍷
@@sistersofbulgaria9396 yeah, same . And glad you are at least feeling somewhat better Laurie 💖. I'm not against use of sprays for crops. There are different types available to choose from anyway. But i was interested to learn if you'd need to use them there, or not, as i noted that the produce is all looking so nice and healthy ☺. I attempt to grow some grapes here where i am. But i don't get around to spraying them as i'm too much of a slack bugger sometimes hahaa. Funny thing ive noted here is that sometimes the grapes crop much better when i haven't bothered to prune them at all. So i suspect that perhaps its our local climate, which can be wet at times during the springtime due to subtropical type situation related to mixture of loads of bush and coastal conditions and so forth which must play a role in the outcome, or something. Anyway take care of yourself and best wishes for your continued recovery 💝

Any dark blue to black grape that we see in the United States we automatically think it’s a Concord grape. Here in the southeastern United States the bugs would eat those grapes alive. That’s why without pesticides the only grapes that can naturally grow in the southeastern United States are the thick skinned muscadine and scuppernong grapes. We just don’t get cold enough winters to kill off the bugs and their eggs. So that’s the price we pay for warmer winters and summers with plenty of rainfall where I live. Makes me wonder if there’s an industry for harvesting bugs because producing bugs seems to be what the southeastern United States does best.
Ooooo I know your struggle with the bugs!! 🐛🐝🕷️🐛🐜🪲 The truth is we spray our grapes too. We use minimal amounts but spraying is unavoidable. I was just telling someone about how a big lie they tell us in cities is that “organic” means 100% unsprayed… this is completely untrue. In order to produce large amounts of crops a bit of spraying is needed- at least where we are. We also have very mild winters so bugs are a constant for us.

Тази година бяхме в Приморско и беше страхотнооооо 🌊🐠☀️
Splendid Lora I see that wine and similar drinks are made here by the beautiful fruit of grape. NO .. NO ... NO; God has ordered us to be away from it because devil has a door in that arena, and its ruin surpasses its good effect.
It sounds like we are from different cultures. I respect your culture and choice not to consume alcohol and know that you respect ours as well. 😊 Wine, rakia and alcohol in general is a very important part of our culture and religion and we will always continue to consume it 🍇
Noooo why are you against it? 😫 Halloween is already here. The older generations are more superstitious but the younger generations celebrate and it’s sooooo much fun! 😃 You know, it’s funny… many older Bulgarians are strongly against Halloween because they feel it’s foreign and causes us to lose our culture but I disagree with this. It’s just a fun holiday that gives people an excuse to decorate, dress up and have fun. It doesn’t mean we have to believe in the root of what Halloween stands for and certainly doesn’t mean we are “losing our culture”. I mean, Bulgarians happily adopted and celebrate Valentine’s Day, enjoy foreign cuisines and incorporate western values into their daily lives… I think it’s great to celebrate a holiday that gives us an excuse to celebrate 😊🎃👻

Bulgaria produces the best Mavrud, Malnik and ..................... SYRAH in the world ! Believe me as I am drinking bottles from 2008 of the best wineries in BG !!!!
But those are bulgarian varieties of grapes. Of course it will be best from the origin
Yes! I was in Melnik just last month but it was too hot to order wine. We stuck with beer 🍻😄. It sounds like you know your wines.. and wow 2008!! Amazing! 🤩
I will admit, I know nothing about Syrah. I’m definitely going to do some research and give it a try 🍷 🍇
Very excellent grapes, nice different colors of grapes, that is fine, naturel, very testy sweet ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤, I like this ❤❤❤❤❤
Is this your final answer? I was going to say that the white is either a Dimyat or Rkatsiteli and the darker grapes are either Mavrud or Melnik but you may have nailed it with "very excellent, nice, different colors of grapes that is "fine", naturel and very testy.
I’m glad you like the grapes! 🍇🌱🌞

Here I am in Las Vegas and it is Oct. 6 and still hot, 102 F, yes, that looks like a dream landscape and way of life to me now. Enjoy it!
@@sistersofbulgaria9396 Its fun for visitors of course. When you live here you pretty quickly realize you cannot hang out at the casinos, gamble, etc. if you want to pay your bills. So you end up living a pretty normal life just in the community of Las Vegas. I will say that from mid Oct. - mid May, the weather is great!
Alhamdulillah..

Oooo I loveeeee fall … cheers to the RAKIA! 😃 🥂

I hope that some expert can identify the grapes - perhaps a university academic in historic viticulture ?

I just love cabbage. Not many cafes or restaurants seem to provide cabbage like in the old days. Its available at greengrocers though and some superstores.
So do I! It’s one of the main things I look forward to in the fall/ winter. Right now we are still enjoying our cabbages fresh while we wait for the pickled batch to prepare. I’ve tried store bought pickled cabbage before but it’s nothing like the homemade thing 😃🥬😋
White grapes look like very typical sauvignon blanc 🙂
Interesting! I will look up the details of Sauvignon Blanc. I have drunk the wine many times, of course, but never actually looked into the grapes 🍇😃 Thanks for this info!

Hello miss how are you?
Today You look rever queen 👑
Hello 😊
Such kind words- thank you! 😊🌹
You are once gorgeous girl, greetings from a wine maker from Herzegovina.
Kinda like yogurt. It's a bit more runny and sour

Yeah the probiotics in bukgarian yogurt and buttermilk surely help. Hitler believe it or not ingested bulgarian shepherds stool. Yeah you can't make that shit up really. It was believed at the time bukgarian shepherds were the healthiest in Europe. Not without evidence I guess as at the time bulgaria had the most centenerians in europe

Hello beauty
Gamza grapes can also have lighter ones in them.
Interesting! I’m going to research Gamza grapes in more detail. Thanks so much for the info! 🍇🥂
voce é linda, beijos do Brasil.
Oh nice harvest 👌. Do you generally need to use sprays for control of disease and pests Laurie ?. Hope you have fully recovered from the pneumonia 💖

The truth is we spray our grapes too.
Hahah harvesting bugs! 😃 Wouldn’t that be a money maker 😄

Oh NO don’t export Halloween🤷🏼♂️☹️
Noooo why are you against it? 😫 Halloween is already here. The older generations are more superstitious but the younger generations celebrate and it’s sooooo much fun! 😃
You know, it’s funny… many older Bulgarians are strongly against Halloween because they feel it’s foreign and causes us to lose our culture but I disagree with this.
