Fun fact: Trader Bob was created by Frank Wayne, then the executive producer of The Price Is Right. Following his death in 1988, Bob Barker took over the reigns as executive producer. Bob loved this because he could do what he damn pleased!
Give or Keep was the better game. With Trader Bob, you had to have all the correct choices, or you're stuck with the one prize you traded down for. Since there was always one prize worth more than the previous one and the other less than the previous one, you had to pick the right one each time. Give or Keep allowed for some error, but you won as long as you kept more than you gave away.
There’s one more pricing game under Bob’s name, “Barker’s Markers” from 1995 to 2007! It’s changed the name to Make Your Mark when Drew Carey took over hosting Price is Right. I like Keep or Give better than Trader Bob why because Bob reveals the price of each prize the contestant gives back. Trader Bob they start off the least prize just like Hole In One from least to most expensive.
I hated that game. Bob Barker gave the contestant $500 in cash BEFORE game play unaware that (s)he isn't guaranteed the money at the end since the money could be used to correct a wrong or it could be taken back if one of the three hunches is incorrect.
I preferred give or keep... with Trader Bob, the fact that they always revealed the price of the item that wasn't chosen often gave away if the game was going to be won or lost.
As they play the game, each item the contestant picked Bob would tell the model to not show the price. It would reveal too much information if they showed all prices as the game went along. I think it just became a running joke. At the end of the game, all the prices were revealed to see if the contestant won. I remember once it was a running joke throughout the show. Holly even fired back in one game asking if she should show the price.
The reason Bob always said don't show the price was because one of the beauties would accidentally give it away when they weren't supposed to. Probably out of habit.
I liked Trader Bob, I was pretty good at figuring out the price of the base item and which prize was higher priced than the previous prize that was picked. The set was much better than Give or Keep.
WHAT HAPPENED TO BIG MONEY WEEK?! this season (51) they had dream car week last October but now it’s about to be the end of the season and hasn’t had any sign of celebrating it at all. Someone please respond to this and help me figure out what’s happening
I liked both Give or Keep and Trader Bob. I have a feeling why Barker's Bargain Bar changed its name to Bargain Game. It must of had something to do with Mike Richards when he was the (awful) executive producer of The Price Is Right. Richards probably didn't want anything to do with Bob Barker, but then, that's my opinion. There's a TH-cam video with clips of Richards hosting The Price Is Right. He was terrible! No motivation. He's not a good host. But then, I digress.
Well not only that, but BTS staff always called it Bargain Game. Also the Bob References were being slowly removed in 2007 anyway. I actually think that was wise...to give the two in rotation that still had Bob's name on them a more timeless name to keep the show from being dated. That said retiring Make Your Mark just because of a Drew slip-up was a bit dense. I would have simply had Drew acknowledge the slip-up and allow the game to be reworked with a prop overhall to look more like an Artist's marker with the 4 markers being 4 colored daisies of different hues (red, green, purple, orange with the the main prop being Pink, Black and Blue so that it's all the colors the G-T Daisies have ever been on the Price is Right during the Showcase.

When he said Trade in that matter for Bargin Game, I knew this was next
Love trader bob for his simple reason that on the day it debuted one of the showcases was about Loretta Lynn
Sadly at the time of posting, she already past away. She made it all the way to 90, though.
You could tell Bob had the hots for Dian even back then
Easily

Loved TRADER BOB because of Bob saying that HE was "Trader Bob" and because of his admonitions to Barker's Beauties of "Don't show the price!"
Step Up was considered an up-to-date version of Trader Bob.

That is correct, I do believe I mentioned Barker's Markers in the video.

Trader Bob should come back one day as Trader Drew.😀👍

Hi there again!
Fact #6: One of the very few games which uses no electronics.
The reason Bob always said don't show the price was because one of the beauties would accidentally give it away when they weren't supposed to. Probably out of habit.

I would describe it as a combination of give or keep and a progressive game like more or less.
