Cool video, Justin! This finally does the 512 BBi justice! I still don‘t understand why BBs in general are so underrated compared to other Ferrari models. A Dino 246 GTS is still at least twice the price for a 512 BBi - the market‘s got something wrong here!
512 and 308, they're like the very cars you found in your favorite '80s racing games, four round tail lights and all, quite a sight to behold when we were kids.
Your channel some how show on my suggest list and I click to watch and like the way how you describe the history and detail. Great video & keep it up!!! happy new year!!
This particular 512 BBi appears to have had the rear wheels mounted on the front, and the front wheels mounted on the rear. The tires should be 240/45x 415 (front) and 280/45x 415 (rear). This would have a seriously detrimental effect on the way the car feels/drives. Many owners "rotate" their tires as you would on a typical car to have more even tire wear as part of their maintenance regiment. Unfortunately that is not advisable on these cars with staggered tire widths from front to rear.
@@Instacarhk Having an extra 40mm of tire width (80mm if you count both front tires) will cause the car to have excessively heavy steering, and will make the car much more susceptible to "bump steer" or tramlining. With regard to the "BB" moniker: I remember talking to Franco Rocchi (Ferrari's head of engine development in the period) about the subject. He stated that "BB" stood for "Berlinetta Bialbero". I have heard Leonardo Firoravanti & Aldo Brovarone from Pininfarina tell the Bridget Bardot story as well. I think it was a bit of an inside joke at Pininfarina. Incidentally, the Ferrari factory's own sales brochure (N133/76) -The orange folder from 1976 on the BB says "Ferrari BB 512 berlinetta boxer Pininfarina" on the cover, so there is that... The whole argument is as unsettled today as it ever was. In any event, I think few will argue that the timeless beauty of the BB has aged far more gracefully than Miss Bardot. Also, enjoy your beautiful 308 GTB in good health.
@@Instacarhknon voglio credere che esista un proprietario della BB così "distratto" da non considerare le dimensioni differenti tra pneumatici anteriori e posteriori
Wonderful video 👏🏼. Always been a huge fan of the 512 BB & BBi. What year is your 308 GTB? Your 308 GTB is beautiful as well, though admittedly I’m bias as myself being an owner of a 76 308 GTB Vetroresina 😉.
@ Congratulations, you own one of the very last carbs 308 and a GTB, very NICE score, hold onto that baby, it’s a visceral and raw driving experience that no modern car can offer 👍🏼. Great YT channel, keep up the good work, cheers 🍻

@ I wonder where the car is now. There were lots of classics back in the 80’s and 90’s Hong Kong such as Kelvin Wong’s RUF Yellowbird, Charles Kwan’s Porsche 911 Turbo slanted nose and Ferrari F50. Wonder where are all these cars now and I hope they are all still alive and going strong.
@@H.A.T.E_C.H.I.N.K_Lyncher_SB The 512BB is still in Hong Kong and currently for sale on sunning.hk. The F50 is in the US last I heard from Ferrarichat.com. Not sure about the Porsche's, Kelvin Wong's RUF Yellowbird was so iconic!
great start of the new year

Thanks Andreas! Means a lot coming from you! Agree, 512's are still underappreciated for sure. Although I am still not brave enough to buy one yet...
Absolutely loved the Boxer, ever since Ferrari made the 365GT4 BB, especially in the darker metallic Blu Chiaro colour. Fabulous start to 2025

Great eye! Yes we noticed on the day how odd it looked too and told the owner. I will pass on the tyre size info to the owner now, thank you!

Can you introduce the white 512BB that was raced in Macau in the photo. Was it owned by Jimmy Yee?
You are correct, the photo of the 512BB racing in Macau was indeed owned and raced by Jimmy Yee at the time.
