When you go to war, you do not ever return. You do not even come out of bootcamp the same person. My dog did not recognize me and barked at me. My personality changed so much it changed my handwriting. I tried to get money in my bank account and they did not recognize my signature. I had to bring my birth certificate and my mother to the bank.
@@valianthistorian7790 How did the Vietnam War serve my country? They lied to get us into it, won every battle, and lost the war. Over 50,000 young men of my generation died in a war that freed NO ONE, but enslaved a million of us with conscription. Did you even read what I wrote?
@@JohnLloydScharf What i meant in that sentence was that, for those who have served as, a soldier, a pilot, from most places, and have pushed through the war, they deserve more than medals, I'm not bringing glory to war, nor justifying it, especially from the way some people are treated when they come back from it. And yes, I did read what you wrote, but yeah, more people need to know this stuff.
Sorry you had to go through it. My dad was a medic in WWII, Germany. He was captured 9 months before the war was over. As a POW in Germany the odds are highly against you making it out. When he got home it was 14 years before my sister and I came along. Why? He came home and hugged the bottle until alcohol poisoning almost killed him. He never shared his experience with me until a few years before he passed in 84. This movie was so realistic it seemed I was there because I had been there before, in my fathers eyes.
Saving private Ryan is the first movie I saw in theatre when I came to US and it's my favorite one. This video bring me in tears and thank you so much for this wonderful job.
The country has had lots of heroes like this. Heroism doesn't just involve wars. And the fact is, this was a movie. In real life, people have risked and given their lives for a lot of things, not just in wars or in just wars. John Lewis got beaten trying to rid on a damn bus through the US South. You don't think that's heroism?
One of the most heart broken movie I'm crying when i was watching this 💔😭😭😭 I'm crying louder 😭😭 R. I. P for all the soldier who lost their life in the battle Field ✝💐🙏😔
if i may make a suggestion? i feel the music volume is too high in comparison to dialogue's volume. this makes it difficult, and at times frustrating, to understand the dialogue. of course, it may just be me. if so, carry on.
Saving Private Ryan is the only movie to have made me cry over all these years.
And what about Titanic ? Or Terminator 2 : Judgment Day ?
@@Batwarkov I never really got invested into them, not sure why.
@@Batwarkov Ehhh, Titanic was really sad but it didn't make me cry
Terminator? I haven't really cared much for that franchise other than cool robots

My most favourite film ever. I cry every time Miller says 'earn this'. Incredible film making.
And he did earn it, in the end. Wisdom.

"Earn This!" always breaks me, no matter how often i watched this amazing Film...
I’ve been watching this for the last 30 minutes, it’s so fucking good. The 3 shots of Jackson back, to back, to back is too good. So well done.
Our country will never conjure heroes like this ever again.
