My Great Uncle was a captain in the second world war and was a beach master on Omaha. He went in before the first wave in the attack. He directed the landing on that beach and helped soldiers out of the boats. He was one of the first American soldiers to land in France that day. He also helped land General Patton in the invasion of Sicily and Salerno. He also served in North Africa. On Omaha, he was standing under heavy German fire. Somehow he made it out alive that day. He later served in the Korean War. He served in the Army in WW2, the Coast Guard in Korea, and then served in the Marine Corps, and Navy. He went to VMI and graduated at age 22 and was 35 in 44. After the war, he became a sheriff. Rest in Peace Captain F Perry Williams.

This is arguably the best and greatest TV series I’ve ever watched!! Absolutely fascinating and mesmerising to watch some of the action scenes. The slower emotional dialogue scenes and stoic military scenes are very good acting. The fact it was based on real life makes it even more interesting!! I loved it!! I salute all those brave men!! 🫡

I get what you mean, but I don't think you should be jealous, the people that fought in this war, have seen something even worse then hell. Because hell is where bad people go to, war is something where innocent children, elderly and other ordinary civilians are forced to face and die in the most horrible of ways.

I'm greatful for the sacrifice made of each allied soldier who fought against fascism. Those men liberated Wewelsburg Concentration camp and so my grandpa, who defiently refused to fight for nazigermany. He was in multiple concentration camps for 8 years until his liberation. Im alive today because of those mens sacrifice. I would love to say to them "Your sacrifice was not in vain. It's with me every day of my life."

The German soldier winters shot at the start of crossroads is kind of weird, he has a slight grin of excitement which immediately changes to a fearful face of the realisation that he is a dead man (sadly more like a boy than a man). I kind of wanna know what the boy felt, maybe he was excited to see an enemy, until he realises he is dead, or maybe just thought it was somebody else?

this was fantastic
The German soldier winters shot at the start of crossroads is kind of weird, he has a slight grin of excitement which immediately changes to a fearful face of the realisation that he is a dead man (sadly more like a boy than a man). I kind of wanna know what the boy felt, maybe he was excited to see an enemy, until he realises he is dead, or maybe just thought it was somebody else?
