Off Roading a RENTAL JEEP at Windrock Park!

- We go hit the trails at Windrock Park in Tennessee with a group of Jeep Wranglers (and other 4x4 vehicles)! What makes this off road adventure a little more fun than usual, though? My mom is in town...and she rented a stock Jeep (notably NOT a Rubicon) to get around town during her visit.
Did she expect us to take it with us on the trails? Probably not. Did she expect Chris to be driving it? Definitely not. Did any of us expect Chris to have such a fondness for mud? Absolutely not!

The wife lady and I had an amazing time hanging out with you guys. I learned a lot and feel much more confident out on the trail. So glad that we hit trail 11 as it was a confidence booster for us. Thanks for the great spotting, entertainment and the new dent in my rear bumper. I am not much of a talker but tell Chris that I am very glad that he came along. Dude cracks me up and I am glad that I was able to spend the day with 1/2 of Lite Brite Garage. I will definitely be hip on doing another E3 Offroad takeover. I'm Thinking SMORR would be awesome. As always thank you for your time.

I would have taken the rental back filthy……” KODAK” moment as the rental guys jaw bounces off the ground upon seeing it, PRICELESS !! Chris muddy’d it up pretty good !

I’ve learned over the years that the group I go wheeling with that if they say “I brought my Corolla up here” or “I’ve seen stock rav4s on this trail” that generally means that trail is hard and there’s no chance they ever drove a car or rav4 up that trail 😂 it’s what they say to convince you that it’s “not that bad”

Amazing how much a stock jeep can do even without the sway bars disconnected and locker.
But I believe the Sahara does have limited slip.
But a fun video to watch.
you dont really need the limited slip with the current traction control. it can brake individual wheels giving the same effect as a lsd but instead of being in the axle it uses the brakes

I wish I could share a picture on these comments. My custom Visa card is of a picture of my TJ, parked exactly where your Jeep is, facing the setting sun. Every time I buy something, I am reminded of the great time we had at Windrock so many years ago. Rental at Windrock, be sure to tell us how the return went. PLEASE!

I took my mother on Potts Mountain once, she had fun but wasn't a fan of how rocky the majority of that trail was

Yep , thats right. 73,000 ACRES.. We were there on the 28th and 29th wheeling the new 1 ton swap on the JK. The kids were a lil Spooked at the top of Walden's Ridge. Wife had her head between her legs, LOL!
So sad to have missed this with the 4xe at the dealership due to a timing chain issue and back ordered parts. Hopefully I can see y’all again on the trails soon.

you've also seen the jeep next to that jeep and you know which one took the more challenging and more fun trail.

I Love this video and WindRock we have been there a couple times while at the invasions over the last couple years. We would have stayed another day if we knew there was a chance to wheel with you guys.. One day... it's on the bucket list😁

the traction control on new jeeps is actually really good but they make them so naked on the underside now when you compare to the tj years

Lol jeeps at Windrock lol……ahhh 1 trip we all get Rzrs! It way more fun , faster x 6. And you get to feel the mud, smell the mud and taste the mud. Plus way more trails.

If a stock Wrangler Sahara can make this trail, I can make it in my lifted 05 WK with QDII system. This looks like a fun trail.
Cool seeing you guys in my neck of the woods! I was born and raised and still live about 20mins from WindRock. Been going there since I was a kid back before it was very well known. I haven’t done much Jeeping up there but I’ve spent hundreds of hours on four wheelers and SxS’s up there.

We took my 2dr Wrangler sport (Rubicon shocks and springs) and my wife's Renegade sport (2" lift 1" spacers with Toyo Open Country A/T 235/70R16 tires) to Windrock in June and had zero issues. We went to Nemo Tunnel while we were there as well. Only 40 minutes from the campground at Windrock. I like Uwharrie in NC better. Much cheaper. $6 day pass for the Jeep and everyone in it. Windrock was $30 per person.

Y'all could have manually disconnected the swaybar in the rental. If the stock Sahara can make through some of the trail, my newly lifted and 35s should make me feel better next time I'm there.
2dr are jeeps, 4dr are family go-carts.

I learned a couple things.
Y'all should take the rental back with the mud on it.
I know it says install all the way in , but you need to leave 1 inch out and turn it back and forth until the tool comes off
I’ll have to bring my Jeep there next time I go visit my dad. He lives in Treadway, TN.

never had much luck with those on the road tire repaires, usally carry lots of plugs

May have missed it in the video, but what happens once the rental is returned and problems start coming up later and the renter at that time becomes at fault? Specifically water in the diffs from the breather tubes.

1) Even a stock Jeep is so capable it's crazy. That Sahara is going on the same trail those built Rubis are on. It's not the same lines and it took some bypasses, but it did it.
2) This gives me hope my my Sport S with the LSD, 2" lift and 35s can hang with the big boys.
3) If y'all get the extra money, can y'all buy Chris a stock Jeep and just... let him friggin... send it?
My 98 zj was acquired at 8k miles, threw in 2inchs and run 31s with no trimming, and has always done well when flogging trashing off road, and its my daily as well,, we've been friends going on 300k miles with only the regular maintenance,,

@@edzimdahl1158 brake lock differential. One wheel starts to slip, and the jeeps computer sends power to the other wheel. It's not as good as a true locker, but I've seen a JLU Sahara with a 2.5" lift and 35" tires and no other mods or even a limited slip in the back tackle a 25⁰ rocky, muddy hill with no problem. Everyone acts like you need crazy lifts and lockers and 37"+ tires but really, unless you're doing crazy rock crawly stuff like Kevin and Brittany do in the step child then you're fine with a stock JLU with a mild lift and 35s.
