I know snow can be a hassle & hard to drive in; yet, undisturbed pathways & the evergreens are simply gorgeous when dusted with snow. I loved the aerial view of the property. I thought Russell was your "tour" cat but, Douglas stuck with you the entire video. He's a camera ham just like Russell. 😊🌲
Beautiful, interesting video. I appreciate so much that Laura & Aaron got up before breakfast so they could show us their beautiful garden before the snow melted. I especially enjoyed Aaron's aside about the evergreen that needs two 28# bags of Espoma fertilizer 3X a year: what extreme care you guys are going to to make your garden beautiful. The entire video was like an adventure movie with plush Douglas rushing dramatically into each scene: that cat is a DELIGHT!
The Persephone garden has always delighted me! There is this simple elegance even with its formality. It seems so serene. The benches in the cut flower define the area so well, especially with the snow. You have created such a magical space, with just the right balance between structure and plants. Love your gardens and love your channel.
It reminds me of the Huntington Library Gardens in So. CA where I go to be surrounded by beauty. Btw, I thought for the longest time that the location of the Persephone Garden was the front entrance of their house…
Holy cow !!!! What a beautiful winter wonderland ! It still amazes me how you knew where to plant everything in such a very large area. It all looks amazing. Thank you Aaron for the aerial view ! I especially love the view from above of the pond area. All those evergreen trees around the pond look sooo pretty. Last but not least Douglas sure is loving his home with your family. Thank you for a lovely tour of your beautiful property !!!!❤❤
Consider a Victorian lamp post as the focal point of a small garden in the center of the the big circle. It would look great during the day and awesome if lit up for a few hours in the early evening. Thematically it would fit with the statuary, arbors, and urns. Love your gardens!
What a glorious winter tour! So, so beautiful! The perfect time to show off why you need the plants with colored limbs, and the berries! Oh! So lovely!❤❤❤
What a pretty tour . The structure of the plants are so critical to a winter garden . It really makes you want to go out and walk around and look at everything that was thriving in the summer . The little bit of snow is like a soft pillowy blanket over the plants to let them know it’s time to rest . ❤🌲❤️
This has to be my favorite garden tour of the year. I think it's because it is so different from all the others. Such a drastic change overnight, I am sure. I bet Benjamin and Samantha absolutely loved the magical transformation. Happy Snow Day! ❄️
Laura, I was particularly struck by the beauty of the large weeping willow tree that made an appearance twice in this December garden tour! You did not feature it, but it certainly showed itself as a mainstay of your garden!
Willows are majestic always returning me to my childhood. My Grandma's home and childhood home. I rooted 3 branches and we placed them across the lake this year. Can't wait to see them grow up strong and beautiful.
A small gazebo would be so nice. The kids could have "tea parties" in it and imagine how pretty it would be in the winter with lights and greenery/ bows on it 🎄
Persephone garden!?! ❤ That's my daughter's middle name. The Lord has a way of tying everyone together one way or another. Absolutely love seeing the snow and beauty of all of it surrounding your home.
That’s a more than beautiful paradise i am excited to see young people happy ,you guys are hilarious I laughed so hard this morning watching your video because you’re husband mentioned being 60 and 70 years old and I know nobody who is younger wants to imagine being that old I am 50 and I’m scared lol❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks for showing us your beautiful property , I love it.
My dog loves to watch your videos with me. He watches for the cats and will get excited when they pop on the screen. If they go out of frame in the corner he'll even look for them behind the tv!
Beautiful🧤❤ Winter heaven Aaron, watch yourself... My Mom84 just told me 60 is the new 40! 😅 As long as you take care of yourself❤ Thanks for making my days happier here in Cali❤
Isn't it great to walk around and really take in and enjoy your property - I have a small space but I like to scan it every chance I get and I savor each change I have made throughout time, also plan for future additions 👍👏😊❄️☃️❤️
I miss the beautiful snow so much. I grew up in Massachusetts and we moved away after the Blizzard of ‘78. We moved all the way South to Texas. Sure we’ve had some good snowfalls, but it’s not Christmas with 70 - 80 degree weather. Your home and property are so beautiful with the fresh snow. It looks so peaceful!
As I’m watching this video sometimes when you’re standing still the background/backdrop looks like a picture that you’re standing n front of. It’s a magical scenery, just beautiful.
This is absolutely a gorgeous winter wonderland! I am in a part of the country that has no season but hot! Thanks for sharing your home and property with us!💚❄️☃️
Making the suggestion of “the winter garden” for the Persephone garden, because each time I watch this, this bejng maybe the fourth time, I think “beautiful winter garden” so now I feel compelled to type that all out. ❤
That was a beautiful tour! So many changes over the years and it gets more beautiful each time!!! I also like the west side the way it is now. It would be too busy with lots of plants both sides, although I am sure Laura would make it work anyhow...😅
Love the winter too Idea for the low space across from the arb hedge might be a bee lawn. Stays low, clovers, Creeping fescues, self heal, creeping thyme. I broadcast one pound bag on my teeny tiny lawn in the fall. Will see how it does. Requires little mowing, drought tolerant and wonderful for pollinators. Can also sow in the spring. Got mine from Twin City Seed Company in Edina, MN. I think it would be really pretty in the area that you talked about putting grass in. Just a thought. 😊
What a wonderful winter wonderland tour...nothing like the first snowfall, so magical! ❄☃It was so interesting to see & hear what you mean about where you need to plant or place structure, the snow does really show you what you need. I found this really interesting and inspirational, it made me look outside with new eyes, we had a snowfall last night as well! So thank you so much. Douglas...with you every step of the way...give him & Cheddar and Russell a pet for me please! Have a beautiful rest of the week. Kathy x ❤🎄
I have to chuckle at Laura suggesting marking off the pathways somehow. In my neck of the woods, you need to put in 3 foot high stakes with bright colors on the tips to find edges and pathways.
Over in Boise valley we have not seen the Cedar Waxwings that frequent our Crabapples in the fall. Our tree is loaded. I guess the Robins will be happy this winter.
I just love how excited you are!!! I would be too! I also love seeing one of your cats just going alone with the walk and being so cute! I do have one question do you or do you plane on using your land for weddings or any events? I think it would be a beautiful place for big events. Thank you for sharing, your videos are always nice to watch. ❄🎄❤
It's so magical with the snow. You have taught me so much through the years. I now have winter interest in my landscape. I know that sounds silly but it used to be all perennials I would cut back in the fall and now I have more shrubs and evergreens and I leave up a lot more perennials. Thank you!
Laura - I just watched your December tour👍 May I make a suggestion about the area you would like to keep open, but Aaron suggested lawn…there are so many low growing ground covers that would do so well there!! My moss right now is BEAUTIFUL. I love my Creeping Thyme, & even now it’s beautiful. Also so many of my succulents are still putting on quite a show!! What I suggest is to choose one plant for each area. They would be low, allowing for the rest the eye needs, but still beautiful in their own ways. Just a suggestion - hope you RUN with it
@1:00 The Chicken Coop is Very close to the Hartley and the new Patio Area. > When it's a hundred (100+) degrees out in the Summer....it there a smell? 🐔 🐔 🐔 * Before you plant trees next to the Barn, that sure would be a good place to *Relocate the Coop. (?) You could...'Extend the Patio' for entertaining larger crowds. Ideas: * Spa! / Covered area (not just umbrellas) / screened-in / pergola / more seating / dinning table / outdoor Kitchen / counter w/sink / bar / pizza oven / fire pit / music and lighting.
I love your beautiful garden tours. So exciting to see pond in snow. As you walked past the outdoor fireplace though, I thought again how pretty an espalier tree on the backside of that fireplace would be. Imagine a tree that got blossoms in spring, green leaves and fruit in summer, fall color and then in winter snow sitting on those espaliered branches. Could you do that with one of those persistent crabapples?? Do they get any fall color at all??
Your garden is absolutely beautiful in the snow. Everything just looks so pristine and magical. I really enjoyed the tour with you and Aaron, and y’all sharing your thoughts and ideas. It was a lovely tour of your property.😊❤
It's been a treat to see how the winter interest has come along in the garden. I've been watching your channel for years and remember how there was so much bare space you wanted to fill out when winter comes. I love the empty space in the west side garden. You still need clear areas in a garden so it doesn't look cluttered.
So pretty ! Here we are in Minnesota, near Minneapolis, with ZERO snow. It’s very hard to get into Christmas this year without it. I admire you so much, for being such an amazing gardener, but, most importantly a GREAT MOM❤️🎄🎄🎄
On the west side garden how about white begonias on one side and pink on the other side of those boxwoods. You loved the performance this year. Or something low like Corsican mint or creeping thyme or something similar.
Beautiful. I've been with you for a couple of years now and I marvel at what you've done with your property. My property is small, but you've helped me see the possibilities of my space. My yard has more structure now and I am a different gardener today than I was when I bought my home years ago. Thank you! (Just curious if putting a slab of cement in front of your third garage door is even on the list anymore.)
I love your snowy garden. I am a Texan through and through and while I think the snow is beautiful, my stint in Colorado proved to me that I am frost tender and can’t tolerate that kinda cold. LOL. Maybe you could consider the Wichita Blue Juniper Evergreen 🌲 Tree along ur white fence parking area in between your 🌳 trees? My daughters property has them as a hedge along the backside of their house for a privacy screen 🌲 n their beautiful throughout all 4 seasons!! Their thick n a gorgeous blue green color n hold up better then green arborvitaes during the winter snowy season weather 👍fyi👌
I love your snowy tour. A question: after the Christmas lights are taken down, does your property look totally dark at night-time? Perhaps a few lampposts would add some light and personality in the evening? During the day seeing those lamp posts would be charming?
I have been watching you for a lot of years and all of your hard work has really paid off. Your whole property is just a Winter Wonderland and is just Awesome! Everything is my favorite. You and Aaron are very special people and I am thankful for you sharing your life with us and not to forget your parents and family. I love you all! Merry Christmas! May you feel the Lord's blessings and presence during this special time. ❤
The first snow is always so magical. The area that you all mentioned planting grass maybe instead plant clover as a groundcover. That would eliminate the need for mowing and is a great for bees.
I think more lavander in hedges!!!! Your lavander hedges are amazing! Slight tweaking suggestion: How about Persephone’s Garden? Have loved the channel for years now - thanks!
It reminds me of the Huntington Library Gardens in So. CA where I go to be surrounded by beauty. Btw, I thought for the longest time that the location of the Persephone Garden was the front entrance of their house…
Douglas walked that whole tour with you! He is such a personality - happy kitty living in a beautiful home ❤🐈⬛❄️🐈⬛❤️
The cats always steal the show
Love it when they show up
One word………Wow!! Loved every minute of this tour!
Douglas made the show. He is beautiful and fun.

What is it about a snowfall that makes us feel like kids again! Beautiful winter tour-everything looks magical!
Lampposts would be so pretty next to the 4 benches in the circular opening
Consider a Victorian lamp post as the focal point of a small garden in the center of the the big circle. It would look great during the day and awesome if lit up for a few hours in the early evening. Thematically it would fit with the statuary, arbors, and urns. Love your gardens!

I rooted 3 branches and we placed them across the lake this year. Can't wait to see them grow up strong and beautiful.
Love how Laura stops to comment on individual shrubs, trees, perennials, etc. I did not know that a honeysuckle stays green through winter! Thank you!
I don't know why, but this tour made me want to cry. I wish that were something I see everyday.
Beautiful snow tour! It was really nice having Aaron mic'd up too.
I've never seen snow in real life and honestly seeing the buildings all around is very pretty and looking like a little village.
To me the prettiest thing no matter the season is the big willow tree.
WOW!! What a beautiful fly over intro! So Christmassy!!💕💙

As long as you take care of yourself❤
Thanks for making my days happier here in Cali❤
I just love how Douglas is always trying to get some attention! He is sweet 😊
Protect your arborvitae from the deer!!! Beautiful winter interest. Thank you for creating beauty.❤❤❤
Isn't it great to walk around and really take in and enjoy your property - I have a small space but I like to scan it every chance I get and I savor each change I have made throughout time, also plan for future additions 👍👏😊❄️☃️❤️
I love the idea of laying grass down in the West side garden, I think that would be so picturesque.

The pond looks absolutely breathtaking with the snow!! 😍
I believe the reason you are so very blessed is that you appreciate it all - thx so much
Douglas is your very own Vanna White… he rubs himself over everything you are touring! So cute!🥰
This is absolutely a gorgeous winter wonderland! I am in a part of the country that has no season but hot! Thanks for sharing your home and property with us!💚❄️☃️
I think a black, scroll round top gazebo would be stunning with the bistro set in there
Making the suggestion of “the winter garden” for the Persephone garden, because each time I watch this, this bejng maybe the fourth time, I think “beautiful winter garden” so now I feel compelled to type that all out. ❤
The pond view would make a beautiful framed wall picture. Beautiful Laura !
That was a beautiful tour! So many changes over the years and it gets more beautiful each time!!! I also like the west side the way it is now. It would be too busy with lots of plants both sides, although I am sure Laura would make it work anyhow...😅
I like Aaron's idea of planting grass behind the westside boxwood hedge.
My husband and I are in our 60's and 70's 😂. Just stay where you are, dont come here its not golden. 😉
LOL. I concur.
I love waking up to snowy mornings 😊 I live in the desert so it doesn’t happen often. Your gardens look absolutely stunning blanketed with snow!!
Lovely let it snow ❄️ 😍 Douglas looks like he haven't miss a meal 😋 🐈
Kitty is so warm and fuzzy!
What a winter wonderland for sure thanks for the I tour love watching the cats follow you Douglas is so beautiful glad he’s in the video.
Love the winter too

I think you have convinced me to plant a persistent crabapple tree. They are so pretty and definitely add winter interest.
Your property is so vast and beautiful wow!
Look at the snow. It's VERY
GORGEOUS!😊
I just love how excited you are!!! I would be too! I also love seeing one of your cats just going alone with the walk and being so cute! That pond looks just magical!
The whole property looks great. Our winter is still not in full force 😩
Laura - I just watched your December tour👍

I have always wondered why I can hear train more in winter. I guess leaves block some of that sound! Interesting
It looks wonderful Laura!!!!! Douglas is super sweet! Laura it sounds like you have a cold! Please take care! ❤✨
How beautiful the trees are just stunning with the dusting of snow and the pond area l love it thanks for the tour
I wish we got snow like this in Georgia, I’d love to see your sisters place all decorated for Christmas 🎄
It's a Christmas wonderland
We planted 20 arborvitae along our fence line too but we planted them about 2 feet in so as they grow, they won't push against the fence.
So interesting to hear the back and forth and throwing ideas around. You are a great team!

Winter wonderland, my goodness such a beautiful site to see...thank you for sharing!
How gorgeous! A winter wonderland.

Oh my gosh it looks so beautiful thanks for taken us on your tour of your property
The sumacs look like snow-laden reindeer antlers, very cool:)
'small growing trees behind the benches" might I suggest crepe myrtles multiple colors to pick from don't get large and give light shade
What a beautiful winter wonderland 🥶☃️❤️
It is magical, just needs a bunch of oak, birch, walnut, maples, sycamore and catalpa, all great winter interest as well as each season 🤣
Your garden is absolutely beautiful in the snow. Everything just looks so pristine and magical. I really enjoyed the tour with you and Aaron, and y’all sharing your thoughts and ideas. It was a lovely tour of your property.😊❤

The snow is beautiful in your garden.
How about some concrete benches between the cones in the west side garden? It's such a perfect meditation garden but there's no place to sit.
Douglas is your shadow, so cute! Your yard is beautiful with the dusting of snow!
On the west side garden how about white begonias on one side and pink on the other side of those boxwoods. You loved the performance this year. Or something low like Corsican mint or creeping thyme or something similar.

Thank you for sharing such beautiful views Laura, it really is just so magical and brings me so much joy.
.... ohhh the pond. ❤❤❤
Laura…..What about a camomile lawn in the space or part of the spaces where Aaron suggested planting grass or maybe other herbs?
❤ so beautiful. Your hard work has provided a lush result! 👏 ❄️
Thank you so much for the tour Laura and Aaron. Loved it. ❤
I love your snowy garden. I am a Texan through and through and while I think the snow is beautiful, my stint in Colorado proved to me that I am frost tender and can’t tolerate that kinda cold. LOL. It’s so beautiful on my iPad screen from my warm sunny Texas garden. 😇
I had to laugh when you mentioned the train. I heard the train and thought it was here until you said something about it. 😂 Thank you both for sharing your beautiful gardens with us.

Something like the round, domed structures you see around England would be pretty, on a smaller scale.
Absolutely magnificent. This is just so beautiful. ❤❤❤

Ah, just beautiful!
What a beautiful magical tour!
WOW! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!🥰🤩😍
The drone footage is really pretty Thank you for sharing
The first snow is always so magical. The area that you all mentioned planting grass maybe instead plant clover as a groundcover. That would eliminate the need for mowing and is a great for bees.
Hi. Maybe instead of grass, which you have to mow, use creeping thyme or clover. Love your garden.
Just beautiful! ❄️
Lovely wake up this morning .Rainy Florida weekend with deep fog till 8:30 AM has put us in the Winter decorating mode.☔️🌧🎄🎀🔔⛄️🌟
Gorgeous! Winter, wonder land. Thanks for sharing
I think more lavander in hedges!!!! Your lavander hedges are amazing! Maybe with a topiary lavander popped into the mix ... or maybe a hedge of small holly plants ... idk there's a lot of boxes... put boxwood in the LABYRINTH your gonna build on the dirtlands!!
"Hebe garden " "Persephone garden" ....I feel like we need more Greek statue gardens ... "posioden"by the pond???? "Helios" by the south garden!!!
Lolz😅😅😅😅😅 when she says GAZEBO!
My brain thought pizza hut roofline!
I've seen in one of Jack Barnwells videos where they took Arbs or Junipers that the bent into an arch! It was really cool!
